I dont understand where all of these magical gift cards are coming from. I think they are full of shit tbh. Finding an extra gift card or two is one thing, but everytime they do anything they justify it by "we got a gift card!" mmmk sure, jan.
also, yesterday in the video when she was talking about how she "looked and I was still subscribed" to that meal planning program? havent they been looking at their spending/statements and budgeting? how are you just discovering you are subscribed to something. More lies.
Lastly, they still did valentines day, Katie took Brooks to that play centre, now she is getting a massage... their lifestyle hasnt changed at all. They need to FEEL this. In order to hit rock bottom or understand how bad it could be if you dont change, dont you think they should feel the severity of this? Like, maybe having to say NO to the kids on something or skipping out on valentines day.... This is all a joke to them, I honestly think she got excited about aldi grocery hauls and budget envelopes and it doesnt go deeper than that,

Right? I saw she posted that her massage was from a gift card. Bullshit. The way she had to justify it was so telling that she was lying just by her behavior. Just say you needed a massage or don’t tell anyone about it like you do with everything else.

The majority of the recent gift cards were from cashing in their airline mileage points from a credit card. Also, as "influencers" they get sent a TON of gift cards. She also mentioned the massage gift card was really old.WheresMyCoffee wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 1:09 pm I dont understand where all of these magical gift cards are coming from. The massage gift card was brought up in a vlog a year or so ago. The massage gift card is definitely something they could have sold for a discount.

Their walmart haul is filled with so many ridiculous purchases for people who don't know how they will continue to make their mortgage payments if the house doesn't sell.
All of those water enhancing powders Katie "needs", just drink water. K-cups are an expensive way to buy coffee in my opinion. At least buy the reusable k pod and put ground coffee in it. Way cheaper and better for the environment.
Katie for sure reads here regularly, she was talking about gradually introducing more veggies to the kids. Glad you are listening to some of our ideas Katie!
Sorry for bringing it up again but these people eat so much damn cheese and carbs. Almost every item they bought was cheese or some type of bread. Also, why do they "need" icecream? Your children don't eat anything they definitely don't need dessert every night.

Ice cream
Paper plates
K-pod coffee
Energy sachets
Dog treats
A roll of paper towels a DAY
Baby wipes
Mini pancakes
Lunchables
Pedisure shakes - milk, banana, peanut butter blitz
All the sauces - can you not make do with one?
Burrito things, chicken pot pie - those arent lunch options, they are tea foods. Make a sandwich.
Add to all the snacks, ice cream, yoghurt tubes, diced fruit in snack pots, poptarts, weird fruit liquid snacks from aldi haul.
Katie is full of excuses as to why they “need” certain things. I suspect this is what she has been like her whole life, justifying choices and money spent. They are still making poor choices.
Start weekly: Sit down and work out what you are cooking for the dinner meals, what are the kids eating for lunch, what are you eating for lunch, same for breakfast - cook a bunch of pancakes from scratch. Make a list. Work out what other household items you need to replenish. I have a standard weekly list (i do online groceries and collect) with fruit, milk, bread, kids lunch foods, cheese etc. i then meal plan for dinners, work out what i have and what i need to buy to make the meals.
Come on katie - this kind of content would be interesting - meal planning!

Did they get Uncrustables too? I have NEVER understood the point of those. Is it that hard to make a pb&j? And Lunchables are so full of sodium and preservatives.
A roll of paper towels a day? That's insane. And wasteful.
I can't believe they buy all this junk, manage to justify it, and then claim to be cutting back and "humbling" themselves. It just irritates TF out of me. Try going to the food bank, because you can't afford food. That's _actually_ humbling. Katie is just as entitled as she has ever been. And she's raising Gaines to be entitled too.

I have pets. Katie, you didn't spend $30 on cat food...more like $45+. And the amount you purchased isn't going to last as long as you think.

No worries. Both are bad for you and expensive ways of feeding kids basic food. I admit to buying my kids Lunchables once in a while because they thought it was cool and fun, especially the pizzas. Obviously nobody is perfect. But some of these vloggers buy stacks of them, and it's nuts because if anyone has time to make nutritious lunches for their kids, it's vloggers.Haulnarse wrote:Sorry im not from the US, it may have been uncrustables not lunchables they got.lmmomSD wrote:Did they get Uncrustables too? If anyone read that list without knowing where it was from they would think all that stuff was for a four year olds backyard Birthday party. Pure crap. What is all of that junk she puts in her water? Can't she just get some generic soda water and put some fresh lemon juice in it?Haulnarse wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 4:48 pm Ice cream

I didn't make it through the whole video and didn't see the paper plates or hear the roll of paper towels a day comment! How do they use a roll of paper towels a day? I try to use real towels for everything I can. They must dry their hands with paper towels? How wasteful! Why do they need paper plates? How hard is it to just wash the dishes as you use them?
I agree, they have not humbled themselves at all and quite frankly I don't think they even realize how entitled they are! There are so many people I the U.S alone who live so far below the poverty line and don't know where there next meal is coming from. Katie has the potential to use her degree to make a decent salary for her family and chooses not to. They think buying their kids shoes from walmart is humbling. There are so many families who would love to be able to buy their kids a brand new pair of shoes from walmart. They need to go volunteer at a womens shelter or homeless shelter. I just can't even with them, there is so much suffering and poverty in the world and they think going without their favorite pizza is a sacrifice. How can people continue to praise them.

Do they realize Aldi also has produce? You can get the kids cuties as a snack (oranges) and carrots with some yogurt based ranch. The kids are picky but love chicken nuggets? Try baked chicken. I love baked chicken (breaded with Panko)lmmomSD wrote:And someone said that those snacks "could last them a month". But they don't. They shop like that every week. They buy a ton of junk and I agree, they aren't meal planning. I use the grocery pickup at Walmart, and I plan meals and see what I have on hand and what I need.mollybaby wrote:They should only be spending money on what they need and will eat for the week..
There’s no need to buy cheez it’s, cheese doodles, 3 bags of kettle chips, 2 cans of Pringle’s, pretzels, popcorn, Doritos. in 1 single shopping trip. That’s just crazy it me. This is an easy way to go through food way too fast.
I weekly meal plan with a set budget. I buy a grocery gift card at the the store for the amount I plan to spend on meals for the week, same amount each week. I shop based on weekly ads and use coupons as well. If I have leftover money on the gift card, I reload it the next week and deduct the amount I have left over so I always spend the same amount or less no matter what. Occasionally If I have leftover money, I’ll buy meat to freeze instead of using it for the next week. It’s been incredibly helpful. I save so much money and have never gone over my grocery budget since starting to shop this way. I only use the gift card to purchase food items. If anything, it’s made me spend way less.
It’s easy to see from this shopping trip that they don’t meal plan at all. They go in the store and buy whatever they want. They are spending so much money on crap. How can they be living like this? They have no money!! They do not get the concept of budgeting.

And maybe Aldi stuff is "healthier" but junk is junk. Potato chips, doritos and cheese puffs are junk. Give the kids baby carrots.
And I definitely agree with HS that people personalizing criticism of Cullen and Katie and assuming that we mean that anyone who celebrates Valentine's Day or buys a bag of Doritos is "dumb" has got to stop. Their situation is a perfect storm of denial, overspending, and caring way too much about appearances. The general assumption is that most people here have at least a basic grasp on things. I just got laid off. My family is helping me. But I am actively looking for work and not expecting them to just support me. So when people make comments about C&K relying on family to subsidize their lifestyle don't bother me, because I know my situation is different. I also cut out things like Starbucks and I drive a very old car.

I can do spaghetti maybe once a month, I don't understand families like them that do it daily. It's too heavy and will stretch your stomach outBoymomma123 wrote:Jeez, all these people eat are starchy carbs and some lettuce. They are all having pasta for dinner again.
