I follow a small YouTube channel that had her home staged and it looked like a completely different house! C&K have such a tacky style and non of the styles match from room to room. I don't care how much they paid for that blue chair but it is hideous and tacky af.

The whole video was just all about how they never felt right about moving and this is their home and the kids love it and showing the house was so stressful.

It was interesting to me that Cullen mentioned renters being evicted from their homes during the pandemic and that being a fear they had. Here in Ohio our state government has put measure in place to make sure no one gets evicted and they have placed an order for previously turned off water to be turned on. I am surprised other states would not have similar measures in place. I think they are planning on utilizing some type of mortgage forgiveness because of the pandemic for the next few months.

The problem with relying on the pandemic to put a hold on bills: eventually they will get their money. It’s not like those bills disappear during these months. Eventually everyone will have to pay. They may just raise the monthly bill amount temporarily to covers the back pay or some companies may just say “you have this many months to get caught up to current.”

I am very fortunate that my husband makes most of the money/pays most of our bills and is working from home and still getting paid his full salary because I would hate to be in a situation to not be able to pay bills now and worry about having to double pay later.

Katie said on IG they their mortgage payments have been deferred for 3 months and their term will just be extended by those three months. No doubt she thinks they can take the three months to “get current” and then resume their usual lifestyle.

No way they’ve adjusted their spending. A temporary solution has just landed in their laps. Without the school fees for the next few months as well, they should be able to at least get current month to month. We know they aren’t concerned about the $80k debt or they never would have racked it up in the first place.

Ah, thanks for clarifying! Super weird for her to address it in an Instagram comment, but not in the video itself. So the only reason they are in a position to take their house off the market is because their lender is giving them a 3 month break and extending the term of the loan. That’s a big piece of the puzzle, but they completely ignore it in their video that’s supposed to “explain” taking the home off the market. I think Katie is hyper aware of the criticism calling them entitled and ignorant when it comes to finances, so she’s purposefully obscuring things to make them look better than they actually are- insinuating that they can afford their monthly mortgage payment right now and can afford to take the house off the market, when in reality they can’t without Covid-19 prompting mortgage lenders to provide temporary relief.

How are they getting a three-month extension if their mortgage is already around three months overdue? So really it's a six-month extension?

Unless they still have to pay the arrears and are expecting to get current with the mortgage over the next three months?

I think they were current on their mortgage as of March with their previous "get current" money. This 3 month extension has just allowed them to not have to pay april, may, and june.

Which is why they should be taking this time to continue to budget strictly and pay down their debt further. But I have a feeling they will start spending again now that they have a free pass.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Katie didn’t understand all of the terms and conditions involved with what she’s doing in regards to their mortgage. It’s never in the best interest of the homeowner and it will always benefit the bank. She has shown she isn’t smart with money and isn’t the nerd she believes she is. This will all backfire.

Exactly what I was thinking, we are fortunate enough to still have our income currently despite all of the changes because of the pandemic so I have not looked into deferring our mortgage but I am sure there are some kind of drawbacks.

Not to mention these options are meant to be for people who have lost their income because of the virus. Not for two lazy bums who want a free ride so they can go on a spending craze.

So they are taking advantage of help that is there for those that need it due to the pandemic, yet they don’t need the help because of the pandemic. Shit like that pisses me off. What if the mortgage companies are only able to help so many people and them using this help is taking it away from someone who truly needs it? They need to stop being stupid, get rid of the suburban, tithing, school costs and see if their parents will loan them the $20K to get the hell out of this house.

The bank is collecting more interest on a higher amount. I wonder how much money they are saving by not sending there kids to daycare.

Here if you defer the payments interest still accrues.

So at the end of the 3 months the loan balance will be higher - which is ideal when they are trying to sell and its overpriced to begin with not!

So yes the loan maybe extended out 3 months, but its likely that the payments will increase as well.

Like always they will jump into whatever the easiest option is for now and not thinking about the future.

Cullen and Katie: Shifty eyes and constant lies | Part #25

Wouldn’t they have to prove they can’t pay their mortgage to get that extension. Basically they lied to the lender saying Covid has effected their business. When in reality they are just to far in debt. It wouldn’t surprise me if she hasn’t even talked to the lender and she thinks they can just stop paying.

So they got another offer for the house that they declined and never told the viewers. Katie tells it now because it comes in handy in their 25min detour of how the Lord has been signaling they should stay in their house. Katie purchased the Joseph figure with agreement of Cullen and they buried it into the yard, Gaines was there too, out of school because she had the flu yet she was outside like we knew before when she got the opportunity plus being payed (more than Brooks) for duties in the yard. They did film the Joseph footage but left it out of the video while we watched them working in the front yard laying down that coverage.

Katie mentions they knew they couldn't pay the mortgage for April and May and vaguely breezes over having called the mortgage and their explaining - cut - of people losing income due to 'this'. Basically taking this as their golden opportunity to stay in the house for free. They "don't have to worry because they know they have at least 2 months of their mortgage covered", and "probably will be okay after that". The point is that they don't fall into the category of people who are losing money due to this crisis. To the contrary, they already work from home. And if any profession is thriving, it's digital media. With billions of people all watching from home. Youtube can't handle the bandwidth and had to lower its resolution.

They also lied about remodeling in light of selling the house. It was the opposite and because they had already decided to stay after having gotten the reassurance of the mortgage. They were actually moving in again with bringing back their stuff upstairs.

OMG this group is so great! I've been reading for a while, but I finally have things that I NEED TO SAY about C&K, and I just had to join. :mmhmm:

So basically, what Katie is saying in that "Hard Decision" YT video....
They planted a St. Joe in the yard and said the dumb prayer, and then "magically" all these things started happening to finally convince them to keep the house. But in REALITY, they let their kids lead them to this decision. Katie said that the kids were really upset about having to move and asked that they "never move again" after this, and the KIDS came to love the house so much... That's BS. Those kids are so young! They don't even know what's happening. NOBODY likes the house-selling and moving process. Nobody. Especially kids, because they are confused as to where they might eventually live.
And if that's truly the reason they made this decision, SHAME ON THEM for letting their kids make adult decisions that impact their financial lives that much. That's the craziest thing I've ever heard.
Oh! Looks like most of you were correct that they are now going to blow all their "extra money", because I just saw another YT video pop up with the "BIGGEST Sam's Club Grocery Haul of their lives!!" Oh LORT... Gotta go watch this trainwreck now. :D

Just as expected. They don't have to pay the mortgage so they feel comfortable spending nearly $800 on mostly junk food and other things they "need". That bottle of Tylenol was probably close to $20. Things like that and the deodorant tend to be more expensive at Sam's and considering they are on a "budget" those would best be purchased in small quantities at Walmart or even a grocery store.

Feed those kids a balanced diet and then you wouldn't have to spend $100+ on vitamins, pediasure, extra green powder, etc.

Also, we know they pushed off the mortgage payments for 3 months. I bet they also pushed off the payment for the Suburban and credit cards. Three months of free living might be nice now but 6 months from now they will pay the price.

Wow, this pandemic is the best thing to happen to them isn't it. Besides the children being at home.

They deferred their mortgage and followed it up with a giant haul of Sam's Club processed garbage. She bought a taco kit and rice krispies and candy and cookies for craps sake. SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS. HOLY CRAP.

How do you spend $700 at Sam's club?!? We go to Sam's once a month and the most we have ever spent is around $300 and it is normally around $150 for the month.

Wow, not even3 months of budgeting and attempting to pay off debt and they have basically given up already. This is hysterical and such a train wreck! They grocery shop like two stoned/hungover college kids.
