Even with no mortgage payment, they still need to cut their expenses in half. Katie is using this three months of deferred payments to get off the budget and return to her normal habits. No one needs to drop $700 at Sam’s Club. They lived on rice and raman for a month, but it won’t count for shit if they just go out the next month and spend what they would have over the two months anyway.

Katie is clueless. Cullen would be better off to split the debt, walk away, and leave while he has the chance.

So did they thaw Out their credit card? Looked to me like Katie was just itching to spend. She can't go to Kohls, so she had to go do her damage at Sams. I don't think she'll ever change. Their credit is shot, she refuses to get a job, house isn't selling, it's only a matter of time before they claim bankruptcy. I think they got a boost in their youtube paycheck with the "debt" videos, and of course Katie had to run out and spend it. Thats what got them in this mess in the first place.

Katie (and maybe her family) seems like the kind of person who would spend so many years subtling convincing Cullen that he’s basically worthless and so incredibly lucky to get a rich woman like Katie to want to marry him. I wouldnt be surprised if after all this time, he believes it and wouldn’t leave because he’s been convinced he’ll never find better and couldn’t even make enough money to support himself/kids.

In reality, Cullen seems like he might actually have some work ethic when he’s not being manipulated by Katie and deep in his addictions. He could become a hustler and take on two or more jobs to get through this but she has him convinced not to.

Katie has a serious shopping addiction, like we already knew that but this haul video truly proves it, especially since she was trying to hurry up and put it all away before Cullen saw it. Like she just bought a lot of junk food that probably won’t even last that long so her excuse of saying the was stocking up so she won’t have to go out for a while doesn’t even hold up. It looks like she walked up and down the aisles and just dumped whatever she saw in her cart.

I’m still blown away.
We are fortunate enough to have food storage, I didn’t have to go stock up but if I did I certainly would have spent $700 better then Katie did.
Meats. Rice. Potatoes. Cheese. Flour. Sugar. Beans. Long term pantry type items that I could sustain my family on for weeks, if not months. What she showed would maybe be a weeks worth of actual meals and a whole lot of sugary snacks.
She was just ITCHING to have an excuse to swipe that card for some mega bucks. And I agree, she absolutely was trying to get it put away before Cullen got home, and I’ve already said this but she excused her purchases because “Cullen would want them”. She’s just nasty.

Buying that many processed and pre-packaged snacks not only makes no sense right now while the kids are home, but is also a waste of money. I get the impression Katie just lets the kids find their own snacks (grab a bag of crackers, a pack of cookies or a granola bar) and just sits on her ass all day thinking of what she needs to buy. I think Katie is exactly where Ellie will be in another year, struggling to maintain the lifestyle and image established in better days and reluctant to admit the fun is over. Katie has a serious problem, and I think her family is done with enabling her. Somehow I doubt Kelly is dropping $700 on snacks at Sam’s Club. I know Katie has made posts about no longer listening to the criticism of others, but sometimes family is actually giving you constructive criticism. It isn’t always toxic! Katie just wants to live in her own reality, and unfortunately I think Cullen’s self-esteem has gotten so low that he doesn’t even stick up for himself anymore.

Cullen... bankruptcy isn’t going to be good for the kids. Do what is right and get a handle on things. Download the app Katie doesn’t want to, and actually keep track of your money. Katie is hiding things from you and you know it! She shouldn’t be spending more right now, any extra money should be going to the debt. You haven’t even been budgeting 3 months yet and Katie is already returning to bad habits. Do you want financial freedom, or a life with someone who will never be happy no matter how much money you bring in? Your most miserable year together was also your most financially successful, and somehow you both still managed to incur debt! There isn’t enough money to solve your problem because your problem isn’t money.

Our Governor here in Ohio reiterated again today that the provisions they have put in place regarding mortgages is not a free pass to not pay your mortgage. I certainly hope they actually contacted their mortgage company to get the exact numbers and stipulations of deferring payment.

The above post that mentioned getting a bigger yt paycheck because of the debt videos is absolutely right. Their views tripled of not quadrupled for the last two months so now Katie feels comfortable spending again and is using the pandemic as an excuse to over spend.

She bought a ton of stuff but somehow I doubt that is all she bought. Sam's club has kids clothes and I have an idea she may have bought a few things she didn't share with us. I agree she definitely has a shopping addiction, she was so giddy and seemed to be coming off a high in the haul video. Who is that excited about spending $700 on candy, chips and ice cream? I get heart palpitations when we go for budget by $20. She needs some serious therapy and Cullen really needs to take more control of their finances.

I didn’t watch C&K until they started the debt videos, so I was SHOCKED to see her spend over $700 on junk food. I don’t buy that much junk food in a year or three years! I bet she got such a high from that shopping trip. Shopping can totally be an addiction. She just threw her usual rules out the window and lost her mind at sams club.

What envelope did that come from? Did she even pay cash? I feel like we’re going to see regret videos coming up soon.

Hi. New subscriber here, never actually subscribed- I only found them about a week before they were on Dave Ramsey. At first, I was very interested in how “open” and “honest” they were. Also, I was interested on how they got there because a lot of Youtubers don’t talk about that. After roughly 7-8 videos I got really bored of watching. It seemed like they would rather bitch and complain then actually make an effort to change their financial situation. The video where the revealed how much they paid monthly for their car payment and when they talked about their business credit card and using it for furniture for the “set” and hair cuts for the “business” is when I realized they were frauds. They’re are always going to make excuses on how and why they’re the victims. I don’t watch them at all anymore, mainly because their videos are way too long and I they can’t hold my attention. I don’t think I’ve seen a video with Brooks and Gaines in it so I for sure haven’t seen them only eat pizza BUT I was very, very confused with their Sams Club haul they recently posted. No family consisting of two adults and two small children need 4 HUGE jars of spaghetti sauce.

Sadly, I don't think he will leave her, and he won't stop eating crap either because that is his substitute addiction outlet. They are thoroughly codependent in the worst possible way. I am sure Katie emotionally blackmails and terrorizes Cullen by dangling custody of their kids. She wants him to feel 100% responsible for all of her screw-ups. They live in a socially backwards milieu. If they weren't in that bizarre, small, sexist, uptight circle in the traditional deep south he would have left a while ago.

Katie is also a big one for going on a spending spree and then making big returns later (even after the return period) and being a total “Karen” about. Too bad most stores are not taking any returns or exchanges right now. Not that it’s usually food that she returns but if she did secretly buy any clothes, toys etc, bet she tries to return them and bitches when she can’t.

Katie so obviously reads here. In her stories, she shows another super minimal dinner she’s prepared for the kids and makes sure to say if they ask for more, they can always have more.

In the next story, she’s explaining why she puts almonds on everything.

Hey Katie, what about the ranch? I’m always curious why her 3 and 5 year old have to dip everything in ranch.

On another note, Katie constantly talks and posts about how she has worked to overcome codependency. I can’t help but think she has made Cullen severely codependent on her. He doesn’t even realize it, it’s sad.

Thats such an odd reaction. If someone did that to me, I'd immediately jump up and ask if they were okay. Katie was just so nonchalant. Even both kids got up to see him and make sure he was okay!

I am beyond shocked at how little they eat... they literally eat two bites of broccoli and six pieces of plain pasta...that's not an exaggeration.
like...I get some kids are picky, but that is not enough, no matter how picky they are.
first of all, gaines is what 5?6?... she could (and should) easily eat a whole normal size bowl of pasta with veggies in it.
they have her eating off a toddler plate, and the same amount (and cut up size food) that you give a 10 month old.

So what we all thought seems to be 100% correct when it comes to Brooks being "picky". He ate the grilled chicken bo problem and tried everything she gave him and she was surprised how easy it went. Gaines on the other hand licked the chicken and "didn't like it". All she ate were noodles with cheese surprise surprise!

I remember back when Brooks was 2 ish I think she used to rave about how he would eat anything. Then all of a sudden he was picky like Gaines. She also said he has to have icecream every night to encourage him to eat. Well Katie, maybe the poor kid is tired of eating luke warm chicken nuggets and noodles every night. It's clear that because Gaines is picky Brooks has to be picky because we can't single the princess out and highlight her poor behavior. That child runs that house for sure!
