I think Jared hasn’t gotten hip surgery yet because he knows Ellie is not capable of making sure everything will be taken care of while he recovers.

From what they’ve said, last time Jared had hip surgery, he was bed ridden while recovering. If that happens again, Jared knows that there is no way Ellie will be able to properly care for him, herself, their kids, their animals, the house, etc. She has proven that.

It’s as if she never grew into a full-fledged adult. She is not independent whatsoever. Also, it would be a big mistake if they were to have another baby right now. I really hope she’s not still trying to get pregnant, especially given the crisis we’re currently living in.

I think Jared needs hip replacement this time. They have hip replacement patients up and walking within 24 hours and home from the hospital very quickly. You are right that he wouldn’t be able to take care of the boys and grant Ellie’s every wish but he won’t be bed-bound like he was with his other surgery. Others have pointed out that they probably have a high-deductible health insurance policy. That’s likely why they are putting off the surgery.

For a hip replacement, the surgery itself is the easiest part. Yes, you can be in and out in 24 hours but there’s still a recovery period and a lot of physical therapy, multiple times a week. You need a walker after surgery, you can’t drive for a couple months. You can’t lift anything heavy including groceries and kids. Right after, you need help showering and putting compression socks on and off. You even need help putting your shoes on. I cared for my mom after hers. I had to drive her everywhere, take her for slow walks to build her energy back up, do everything I mentioned above. Trust me, she wanted nothing more than to get back to caring for herself but it took a few months. She was considered a perfect candidate and she’s in amazing physical shape.

I can’t picture Ellie being able to handle it as she seems to be overwhelmed in general. If it’s an insurance issue, that’s different. Maybe they should cut back on the vacations, start making YouTube videos, quit buying new pets and save up for what’s really important. I feel like if Ellie needed surgery, Jared wouldn’t hesitate.

Hip replacements have come a long way. My dad has had two 10 years apart. The past one was within the last year. He’s in his 60’s and it was day surgery. He was home by 5pm and off pain meds in just a few days. There are restrictions for movement and exercises for recovery but they didn’t even do PT. He was back at work 2 weeks later.

Jared is young. If he needs a replacement he should just do it. They waste more money on their Bollie photo shoots than Jared would spend on surgery. It’s a shame he is married to such a selfish child.

There’s such a stark contrast to the modesty she preaches and the pictures she posts. I understand it’s an ad but it’s so odd to post pictures of yourself, alone, in your bedroom, in a bikini. It seems the thinner she gets, the more she flaunts her body.

Even in a young patient, hip replacements are a MAJOR surgery. Advancements have brought the procedure a long way, but here in Canada it is absolutely not a day surgery. I work in the OR and schedule these surgeries. Most patients are in hospital 4 nights or longer. Our own orthopaedic surgeons haven’t even had it done as a day surgery. Perhaps this is different in the US, but I find it unlikely. Jared will have a substancial recovery, and won’t be back to his normal duties right away. Ellie will most certainly need help.

That said, hey would be able to afford the surgery a lot sooner if Ellie would stop paying for designer pets and their equipment. Just in the last few months she’s no doubt spent over $1000k between the rabbits and puppy. Now she’s on IG asking for suggestions for clothes so she can match her boys since she “doesn’t have a girl to dress up.” You can still dress your boys up Ellie. You just want to dress yourself up to better steal the attention from them.

I’m guessing it depends on what the surgeon is comfortable with. He also did a full knee replacement in January and was home 12 hours later.

If Jared needs a hip that needs to be their first priority. They spent thousands on that puppy. They seem to focus on superficial things or things that Ellie wants. Health just isn’t a priority and it’s sad to know that Jared is suffering in pain.

There are variables to how long you stay in a US hospital with a THR and I agree it's a major surgery. Has he actually been to an Ortho physician, had x-rays resulting in a recommendation for a hip revision?
Ellie spent two thousand dollars on labs for her health problems. If they spend wisely, you would think they could afford a needed hip revision.

I've seen a short stay with a family member with a TKR, who spent a night in a suite with nursing care and went home the next day. It was probably just over 24 hours from surgery to discharge and it required you have help at home. I'm not sure they are doing this with hips. The factors that were required with this short stay was no comorbidities and I tend to think age is a factor.

I’m sure it’s possible that Ellie got her brows done (because we know she isn’t going to give that up to save money!), but if so it can’t have been super recently. Ellie had a family photo shoot scheduled for today, and it’s not likely she’d schedule one while still healing.

Incidentally, she does a family photo shoot every couple of months. They aren’t even doing YT anymore, so what an absolute waste of money. But also, how narcissistic do you have to be to need SO MANY pictures of YOURSELF? Pick up a camera and just take candid photos of your kids? You don’t need to be in them all the time!

I was thinking the same thing. They were clearly done recently. Bonnie took Lincoln somewhere to get his hair cut so maybe Utah hasn't shut down all their salons. Thank god Bonnie can still get those talons done.
