So what we all thought seems to be 100% correct when it comes to Brooks being "picky". He ate the grilled chicken bo problem and tried everything she gave him and she was surprised how easy it went. Gaines on the other hand licked the chicken and "didn't like it". All she ate were noodles with cheese surprise surprise!

I remember back when Brooks was 2 ish I think she used to rave about how he would eat anything. Then all of a sudden he was picky like Gaines. She also said he has to have icecream every night to encourage him to eat. Well Katie, maybe the poor kid is tired of eating luke warm chicken nuggets and noodles every night. It's clear that because Gaines is picky Brooks has to be picky because we can't single the princess out and highlight her poor behavior. That child runs that house for sure!

She needs to put her foot down and tell Gaines, that is what she is eating, end of story, and they need to be eating the same thing as a family. Children mimic parents. If they don’t have an example they won’t know what to do, example...eating different foods.

Cullen posted a video of him falling backwards on a chair and Katie just sits there. Didnt even flinch.

Thats such an odd reaction. If someone did that to me, I'd immediately jump up and ask if they were okay. Katie was just so nonchalant. Even both kids got up to see him and make sure he was okay!

She does not care! She didn’t even flinch or get up, she just sat there with her leg up on the chair.

What really stood out to me is when Brooks was asking for more banana and Katie tells him “That’s all the banana we have for this meal” and after he asks again, she repeats herself and tells him he can have more tomorrow. Seriously?

She’s the biggest hypocrite. A few hours earlier, she posted a story showing their tiny meals and she made a point of saying if the kids ask for more, they can always have more. Yet they show him asking for more and she won’t let him have more.

Why isn’t she letting him eat? Yes, bananas have a lot of sugar, but she’s under feeding him. Letting him eat another banana is way better than filling him up during the day with her $700 Costco “haul” consisting of pudding, rice krispy treats, chocolate candy, pop tarts, Frosted Flakes, chips ahoy, cookie dough, Doritos, ice cream, animal crackers.

Poor Brooks. He’s probably desperate for real, nutritious natural foods.

I called this pages ago, and shared my annoyance several times because that's the part that's most bothersome to me that she doesn't treat Brooks like an individual being apart from Gaines and if she does it with eating, chances are she does it with other things, perhaps more subtle as well.

Katie is plain stupid for being surprised Brooks likes duh normal food, and goes to show she's truly projecting Gaines onto him which includes being oblivious to it. Either that, or she's lying to be surprised. It's probably also laziness and arrogance. She doesn't deserve her PhD title in my book, sorry. And I hope, apart from doing assessments (lowest position in the field with no real impact on people/kids) she will never be able to work as a psychologist, with all her preconceived notions, unresolved issues, poor capacity of self-reflection and proven lack of conscientiousness or integrity.

Oh that is so heartbreaking. OMG, I can't, how ridiculous, denying your kid fruit, seriously?? That is negligence and abuse. And she has no problem setting boundaries to him of course. She proofs she can do it! :p. Now only switch to the right kid.

Besides, children need sugar, sugar is the only energy source for your brain. God she is so untruthful and unreliable to her kids with all her excuses and lies. If Brooks' body says he needs a banana you should listen to him, it might also mean he needs potassium. But it's probably one of the only chances he saw for asking for food. Bananas have NOTHING to do with sugar. She is such an incredible hypocrite.

Wow, how could you deny your kid banana after all they ate was two small pieces of chicken, 4 noodles and a small celery stick?
She denies him a banana filled with natural sugar yet gives them frosted flakes, rice crispies, animal crackers? Wtf is wrong with her? My two year old eats a lot and constantly asks for more bananas, apples, berries and all kinds of other fresh foods. I never deny him food unless it is something like icecream or cookies. I bet Katie gave him ice cream after dinner to fill him up. She doesn't want to waste food is the problem. She buys all of that junk to fill them up so they don't eat the fruit too quickly. I would rather go to the store once a week to ensure my kids have fresh fruit than feed them pop tarts. If he ate the chicken without complaining give him more! He needs the protein from chicken and fiber/nutrients from the fruit and veggies to fill him up! Give the kids almonds! My oldest loves nuts as a snack. She needs to meet with a child nutritionist, those kids have to be malnourished.

Gaines being malnourished probably attributes to her terrible attitude much of the time.

Guarantee you these two sloths will file for unemployment to help temporarily bail them out of a “financial crisis” they created totally on their own and has NOTHING to do with the current pandemic. It irritates the shit out of me when people take advantage - especially when we can see the way they live. I hope the government has an investigative task force to catch fraudulent claims and make them pay back everything they took.

Also, how many times is Katie going to throw her parents under the bus on her IG stories?? (See pic) I’m trying to figure this out. So far she has blamed them for:
1. using the silent treatment as a manipulation tactic during marital spats
2. Her hoarding tendencies
3. Her lack of boundaries and meeting expectations
4. Now, her codependency issues

I’m sure there is much more that I don’t recall or don’t even know about because I don’t listen to her podcasts regularly.

It’s interesting that she supposedly took all these seemingly negative qualities away from her childhood but didn’t bother to take any cooking skills. Granddolly must be disgusted to see the shit she throws together for dinner. Jarred and pre-packaged everything. The only time they have any decent meat is when Cullen uses the grill. Katie drowns everything in jarred sauces or salad dressing. It’s utterly disgusting.

She has been throwing her parents under the bus for over a year now. Obviously we don't know what her childhood was like but from what we have seen from her parents they seem like great people.

She just wants to be "different" from her parents because she wants to be a lazy slob. I get not wanting to be constantly on the go and be tired all the time. But Katie takes it to the extreme the other way by living like a slob. From a few of her podcasts it sounds like her mom was a typical southern homemaker that organized charity events and was always busy. I mean obviously you should not take on more than you can handle but that doesn't mean you eat out or eat convenience foods for all 3 meals.

She just makes no sense to me and I think she really needs actual therapy not just self help books. She has always said being a stay at home parent was her dream yet she does everything in her power to avoid everything a SAHM would do. She doesn't even excell at any aspect of homemaking/working from home. She is a mediocre at best influencer, cooks 0 meals for her family, barely gets laundry done, clearly her children bathe themselves, the kids are constantly shown with tablets in their faces. All last year they had house cleaning services. So what the hell does she do all day?

I am just trying to figure out what is so overwhelming and stressful about her life. I am a SAHM and I know it can be hard and isolating at times but she seems on the verge of a mental breakdown.

If it's really that hard for her to function and she has such awful anxiety she needs to seek treatment. Her kids deserve better and instead of spending $700 on processed junk food maybe allot some of that money for a visit with a therapist.

Hi everyone.

So aside from watching a couple of the budget and house vlogs I haven't been keeping up to much with C&K snd I'm just wondering about a couple of things. Some people have suggested Katie's parents may have given them some money which is why they are staying put in the house for a while, have we seen any of her family members in vlogs/instagram so far in 2020? If not then would that not indicate that they're is a big rift ? Katie made several comments in late 2019 about how she was raised, feeling pressure from Kelley etc so I could see them being mad. Also Kelley stopped vlogging in December.

For the last 12 months they've been on their "journey" and talking about how much better everything is now and while there does seem to be some positive changes it really feels like its all just surface changes if you know what I mean? I'm thinking most of this is related to whatever medication they were both prescribed for depression, anxiety, adhd etc. I think it could all come crumbling back down pretty easily and probably will at some point.

I would hazard a guess that they have been getting handouts for years from her family. “Oh we are just a bit short this month for XYZ, gaines needs gymnastics lessons, school is expensive, we need a golf buggy”. I bet her parents have stopped that not too - they are grown arse adults who need to grow the fuck up and stop depending on handouts to get by.

I would also take a stab in the dark that she has borrowed money from her sister in a “ill pay you back when i can” and just not paid her back - hence the rift there. She probably put her foot down or her husband did and said “no more money”.


I would never borrow money from family or friends for that matter, its awkward - you’d be forever looking over your shoulder at the grocery store wondering if said lender is looking!

They fell behind in the mortgage because they were living GROSSLY outside their means. That is also how they managed to rack up $80k I’d credit card debt in about two years. Even with no mortgage payment, they still need to cut their expenses in half. Katie is using this three months of deferred payments to get off the budget and return to her normal habits. No one needs to drop $700 at Sam’s Club. They lived on rice and raman for a month, but it won’t count for shit if they just go out the next month and spend what they would have over the two months anyway.

Katie is clueless. Cullen would be better off to split the debt, walk away, and leave while he has the chance.

I think about this ALL the time! Cullen seems like he just does whatever Katie wants to do and he doesn't have a backbone. He could really do better.

I think Katie holds Cullen's addiction over his head and also uses his addiction to justify all of her faults and flaws.

This. I had horrible guilt about my addiction, and my ex used it to manipulate me. He still tells my kids I "ruined everything". Now he's got a trophy wife who carries his balls in her purse, and my son won't speak to him. Who ruined things?
Sorry for the ultra personal comment, but I can totally see how Katie could hold Cullen's addiction over his head.

Those three months are still going to be a part of their outstanding mortgage balance when they go to sell. They’re going to have to cover it either through the purchase price of the house, or by bringing a check to closing. They’ve revealed that they can’t sell the house for a high enough price in order to cover the outstanding mortgage, the realtor fees, and their closing costs. And they don’t have enough money in the bank to bring anything substantial to closing. They're just kicking the can down the road.

Is anyone surprised that Katie takes this temporary halt in mortgage payments and goes on a $700 shopping spree? It seems like they’re going on a huge “stock up” grocery trip and dropping serious cash every two weeks! I’d be curious to know how many weeks this $737 haul is supposed to stretch. Katie will be back at the store spending even more money two weeks from now.

I will say that I think that if Cullen sought professional help, he has the potential to be a better version of himself. It cracks me up that she went on a “co-dependent” kick because if anyone is co-dependent in that relationship, it’s Cullen. Katie has him believing that she’s so much smarter and more responsible than him, even after she ran their life into the ground. I think she was perfectly content with Cullen being oblivious, until she resented him for not having the earning potential to pay her massive credit card bills. As if an educated partner like her brother-in-law or her father would put up with any of her nonsense. She likes that she can manipulate him, and seems to put him down quite a bit to maintain dominance.

In think if Cullen got help, he'd fall in love with a fellow rehab or mentally ill person in the program with him.
Dude needs a hug and to feel appreciated.(like most people) won't take much to get him to get away from her once he is away.

I listened to them on Ellie and Jared’s podcast.

Katie’s drinking rum and water flavored drops. Cullen is drinking vodka with grape soda. Katie made sure to send Cullen to the liquor store within an hour of learning essential businesses were shutting down. They didn’t even know if it was considered an essential business or not and they claim to still not know.

Cullen thanks Brian for giving him a safe. He says he broke into it during the beginning of the quarantine for whiskey and wine and they have finished all alcohol that was in there. Katie wouldn’t let him go to the store until they drank what was in the safe.

Cullen’s “theory” is that the kids had corona when they were sick a few weeks back. This is the only mention of their kids besides mentioning they have to keep track of when they’ve had their last bath/shower.

Cullen hasn’t showered for 3 days. Katie mentions only showering once a week, saying that before, she would shower in case she needed to leave the house or someone came over. Now, she feels no need to shower since they don’t leave the house.

Katie says the benefit of quarantine is not having to go anywhere. She says she’s such a homebody, it’s great and she’s been waiting for this for years. They said not much has changed since quarantine except for their mentality and it’s been a two week vacation so far. She compared the feeling to when she was home with a newborn baby.

Katie wasn’t sleeping well when first quarantined but now, she’s sleeping just fine because she’s been taking better care of herself.

She also claims she has never watched anything other than kid shows on Netflix until now. Cullen says she only watches self help videos on YouTube and they just started watching Love is Blind.

They said they were posting on YouTube 5 days a week but now since the kids are home, it’s either 3, 4 or 5 days a week.

I’m glad we can’t smell these two through the screen. They must smell like sweat, BO and alcohol. I’ve always had a feeling that their cups were filled with alcohol, especially since you can’t see through them. I’m sure now that it’s been mentioned here, she’ll start posting about how she’s drinking water or she’ll start showing a water glass.

I guess I just don't understand why two almost 40 year old parents need to drink in excess every night. Who has the time for that? How do they not realize they have drinking problems?

How do they not shower more than once a week? That is vile I am a SAHM and I shower daily it's called practicing good hygiene. Every other day should be the bare minimum. I doubt the kids shower frequently enough either considering they take them outside and let them play in the dirt. When my kids go outside it is automatically a bath night. The though of them letting their dirty kids sleep in their beds is just revolting to me. Kids are a full time job bathing them is important.
