And it is not the full mortgage payment is waved, katie needs to realize they still owe there escrow for those 3 months. And buy a lawnmower they have a bunch of free time now. HahaTodays drama wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 7:48 am They are using the mortgage money like its a free spending spree. She claims the mortgage company puts the three payments missed on the end of the loan. She has said a few times that they have to pay a few people that they owe money to. I have a feeling Katies parents already bailed them out of foreclosure. Maybe got them up to date on mortgage payments and thats why the distance between katie and her family last summer regarding no vacation at the parents Florida home. Cullen claims the lawn mower is broke, and having a lawn man come cut the lawn, weed and cut bushes would be the same price as replacing the lawnmower. How about looking on the marketplace, I'm sure he could find one cheap. They are looking for excuses to take the easy way in life. And $1,000 for food, plus she says they have an extra $150 for milk and extras they might run out of. Katie also said they are not keeping money in the house because of the covid-19 situation, people may do things. They are keeping everything in the bank and paying with their debit card. She said they will keep a card with their spending in the envelopes , but they have to keep track because this is what got them in trouble. If she so great at finances, why is this a problem? They will never change their ways. Also, get rid of the fish tank, $200 a month for a salt water tank is ridiculous especially when you are in $80,000 in debt.

Good grief. Do they not realize that there are many families who have more then 2 small children and still manage to take care of their home? There is NO way they couldn't buy a lawnmower for less then what lawn maintenance would cost, theyre both just lazy.
It really angers me that theyre taking advantage of the help for people who have genuinely lost income because of the pandemic. Im an accountant (in Canada) and have prepared more ROEs this last couple of weeks then I have in my entire career. Ive listened to my clients tear up because theyre laying their employees off and losing income and have no idea when or if things will rebound. Meanwhile these two idiots are crying hardships because their kids are home???!? WTF!

It's so easy to find a used lawnmower on Craigslist.
I do agree that they are probably helping out the lawn guy by using him, but they aren't doing it for that reason. They're doing it because they are lazy and willing to use any excuse to get out of any kind of labor.

They absolutely disgust me. They weren’t putting out consistent content before this virus, so using the kids as an excuse to get out of paying their mortgage disgusts me. They even said they were taking advantage of the situation. Selfish assholes. They have no reason to be spending on alcohol, unless they are both alcoholics who need help, no reason for mosquito treatment, use bug spray, no reason for a lawn guy, do it yourself like every other hardworking family who works more hours and has their own kids. $1300 for life insurance? They must have massive policies or they couldn’t qualify because we pay $432 a year for both my husband and I. And their pets....while I am not a huge fan of vaccines, and my cats don’t get them because they are indoor animals and our vet agrees, their dogs go outside, there are certain protections they need, heart worm medicine to prevent heart worms, flea and tick treatment, and at least get titers done to check their antibody levels for vaccines. Also, the fact that their vet sounds expensive and ridiculous. These two are, more so Katie, entitled assholes. They have no clue what sacrifice means. They have no clue what it means to literally have to choose between food and a roof over their heads. Until they actually get their heads out of their ass they will never have success. They are unmotivated, lazy, entitled and pretentious dicks.mollybaby wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 7:44 pm April budget vlog...
I’m more appalled by these two and I didn’t think that would be possible. They are back to thinking they have money now that they have received mortgage “relief” and don’t have to pay school tuition for April/May.
Since they are taking advantage of relief meant to help those impacted by the virus., they are putting their mortgage payments into their personal savings account for now. They are blaming the fact that now that their kids are home, they can’t produce as much content as before and therefore, they are entitled to this assistance.
They are spending the money they will save on May tuition to pay their life insurance plans and some will go towards lawn and pet care. In her words, this is a blessing.
They’ve now hired a “yard guy” because they are just sooo busy with the kids being home, they can’t do it themselves. Other justifications: Katie gets stung by wasps, Cullen gets poison ivy, their lawnmower is broken, weed treatment costs as much as the “yard guy.”
Katie did this month’s budget without Cullen because like she keeps repeating, they are just so busy with the kids being home, she doesn’t have the brain capacity to sit down and think straight.
Monthly expenses:
$80 fun category (she admits this is for alcohol)
$1000 groceries (she purposely increased this)
$69 every 3 weeks (!!!) for mosquito treatment
$?? Yard maintenance
$30 miscellaneous (probably more alcohol)
$50 eating out
$50 car maintenance
$20 Brookes birthday
$20 Gaines birthday
$20 Christmas
$200 pet envelope (they are NOT taking proper care of their pets whatsoever)
Can’t pay their mortgage, too busy to get their work done, too busy to do their own lawn, but they sure find time to drink $80 worth of alcohol in April.

I also saw a comment that someone left on the vlog from yesterday asking if she saw her hormone doctor. She replied that luckily she was able to get in recently.
She must not be honest with her hormone doctor because alcohol can impair the hormone system. If she were honest, the doctor would not recommend drinking alcohol. That seems like it’d be the first thing she would quit in order to regulate her hormones. She’s self destructive in many aspects of her life.

Maybe their lifestyle and Cullen's dad dying of cancer jacks up their life insurance rates. Mine and my ex-husband's weren't very expensive, but we got it when we were young and although I ended up addicted to opiates, my ex and I weren't big drinkers. They can't lie to the insurance company about their alcohol consumption, because they show it on social media all the time.
The other reason it might be higher right now is that maybe they took a loan against it. Depending on the policy, you can get an advance on it, but you have to pay it back for your policy in force (at least some policies)

Those are good points. We got our policies when we were young and before health issues creeped in. We also have a small house and a small mortgage so we didn’t need massive policies to protect each other in the event one of us passes.

Now they can't do their own yard work because the kids are home. Just stop it! I don't give 2 fs about how they spend their money, but the excuses are so out of control. They act like they have newborn babies. Their kids are old enough to occupy themselves for awhile. Take them outside with you while you do yard work. Jesus...it's amazing the rest of the world is getting all the things done with their kids at home now.

It seems like since they are getting more views on their budget videos and making more money their money problems have disappeared. They are back to their old ways again. I also I think Katie may have a bigger drinking problem than Cullen now.

Finally watched a portion of the video and Katie said they had to send paper work stating why they wanted to use the mortgage deferral and they are waiting for approval. I hope they get declined based on their previous history of late payments. What could their reason have been? "Our kids are home now so it's hard to work". Do they realize how obtuse they sound? Half of the country is trying to work from home and homeschool their kids now. What does that have to do with paying your mortgage.

I guess my question is if they have the money to pay the mortgage (she mentioned putting into savings) why wouldn’t you just pay it?! They are full of excuses and abusing the relief that is provided for people legitimately out of work. She’ll be spending that money elsewhere. Her “budget” is a joke. I’m a long time lurker and finally decided to join!
My partner and I have been following DR loosely, there are some things we don’t see eye to eye on but we weren’t in a financial situation like C&K are.
They are completely missing the point. If you want to seriously tackle the debt, you don’t defer your mortgage payments, spend $1000 on junk food (holy hell), and justify where the majority of their cash is going. Paying off debt isn’t fun. If C&K don’t take this seriously, everything will be on the line including their marriage.

Oh yikes, I wonder if they just skipped April's payment under the guise of "waiting on approval" from the lender. I just assumed they had, you know, actually gotten permission to defer payments since Katie was outlining the terms.Boymomma123 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 3:41 pm Finally watched a portion of the video and Katie said they had to send paper work stating why they wanted to use the mortgage deferral and they are waiting for approval. I would imagine they expect to see some sort of proof of job loss or loss of income. Unless they can show where sponsors have pulled out or canceled contracts due to Covid-19, I don't know how self-employed influencers who work from home demonstrate that they've been financially impacted at this point. It's not like they had a store or restaurant they needed to close. At this point they just don't feel like working. And how many paid gigs were they even getting over the past few months to compare? I think their overall decline in income that has been taking place will make it difficult to demonstrate loss of income. I wonder if you compared their January income with March's income if you'd see much of a difference at all.
And since they haven't even been approved, let alone learned the real terms, I wonder if they would end up having to pay all suspended payments at once.

I don't believe for a minute that they are putting anything in savings. They're finding ways to justify spending.HollaBack wrote:I guess my question is if they have the money to pay the mortgage (she mentioned putting into savings) why wouldn’t you just pay it?! Why don’t they make it a game with the kids while they are doing yard work. Say they get a dollar per bucket of sticks or something. My parents used to do that with the grandkids when they were smaller. They would pick up pine cones and would get a little cash reward. Those kids are not babies they should not be stopping them from going outside and doing yard work.

That would be hillarious If they are denied. Yeah I would think they would need to prove it. It’s sad they gained traction by starting this series but now see showing how phony they are.Boymomma123 wrote:Finally watched a portion of the video and Katie said they had to send paper work stating why they wanted to use the mortgage deferral and they are waiting for approval. This is exactly what I was thinking while watching that video.. There's no way they're putting that money in savings. If they were GOOD at saving money, they would not be in this predicament!lmmomSD wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 5:41 pmI don't believe for a minute that they are putting anything in savings. I'm betting that, after all the Coronavirus stuff is over, they will spend that extra money on a trip with the kids to Disney or something. Because they will feel they "deserve it" after "all that hard work"! <eye rolling>

I’m so confused as to why people think C&K have extra money? They were haemorrhaging money before. Skipping a couple mortgage payments and school tuition isn’t going to give them EXTRA money. They just might avoid going farther into debt doe a couple months. They won’t have more money to actually spend...

Because it isn't actually that the kids keep them from being able to work in the yard. They are so incredibly entitled. C&K could make it fun, and it would free to them to do the yard maintenance with the kids involved. It would be a good family project.blondeusa wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 7:11 pmBecause it isn't actually that the kids keep them from being able to work in the yard.
