My 5 year old knows how to light a match. We heat our house with our fireplace all winter. So we light a fire daily and he helps my husband but along with that goes fire safety training and he is taught what happens if you play with matches. Then they get put away. So I think it’s all how it’s done with education and access.

Holy crap, that part with the matches was horrifying and worse than I thought it was going to be. He literally got scared and dropped it on the wooden cutting board! Ellie has done some pretty dumb things in the past, but this might take the cake. What a f****** moron she is, and why is Jared not intervening with things like this?? I would lose my shit if my husband did that.

So they decided to make a new vlog today. They introduced Copper to us. Ellie is teaching Jackson how to light matches (wonderful) and Jared is trying to grow a beard. It looks awful. Are they running out of money?

I think money is an issue since they earn their income through advertisement that is down. I have no idea how they are paying the bills.
Jared seems like he wants to get back into vlogging and Ellie must have given her approval. Even if they started uploading a few vlogs, advertising dollars are down and I think a good portion of their viewers have left their channel.

Ellie doesn’t look, act, or sound well at all. Not being able to dress yourself in anything but a robe, even for your “job”, isn’t a good sign. There’s something really dark and depressing about their life. Anytime I’ve watch a vlog of there’s over the last two years, there is a dark air to it, like visiting their home would plunge you into a bleak mood. I feel like Ellie’s bathroom would have a dark, haunted feel to it. Poor kids.

She was there to watch him this time but what would stop him from doing that on his own with no supervision. IMO, he is way too young to be playing with matches.

According to the podcast TTC is a lot of work for Ellie. Sex isn’t fun and she doesn’t enjoy it like other couples seem to. It’s just for TTC to her.

Guess we can see why Jared is so willing to have more kids. Once they are done, so is his sex life!

Their life really is truly depressing.

We’ve remarked a lot about the possibility of Jared living a lie re: his sexuality. I know the Mormon church acknowledges SSA and counsels the men. But what about the women? What if Ellie were a lesbian or even asexual? Does the church counsel or do they just instruct women to keep the struggle to themselves and breed like good girls?

Jared probably couldn't find Ellie's "sweet spot" with a mining helmet and a map.
I wish they would stop being so coy about their wedding night debacle and either shut up about it or spill the tea already.
St. Jennifer probably told Ellie that sex was her duty because it's necessary to have babies. When you put two super young people together who don't know what they are doing and when it _seems_ that the guy is more interested in his sister in law's husband than his bride, the odds aren't good that they are going to enjoy themselves. Not saying that young, inexperienced couples can't figure it out. Lots of them do.

You know, they TALK a good game about how in love they are, and Jared makes all these posts about how hot Ellie is, and they do all those stupid posed dip and kiss pictures, but once in a while, the mask slips. It's sad, really.

I'm sure there is immense pressure within her community (family and church friends -- she doesn't have other friends) to lay there and meet her husband's needs.

Ellie isn’t having sex to fulfill Jared’s needs. She even said it’s just to make a baby and that’s all. She’s disappointed that it hasn’t happened right away. It’s “hard work.”

Having another baby was something ELLIE wanted. Jared has said they should wait, but we know how that goes....

Just like how she got the second bunny he didn’t want to get, and how she just HAD to have the new puppy. Ellie thinks these THINGS will make her happy and flits from one to the other. She’s never happy. That isn’t the fault of Jared or their religion. That’s an issue with ELLIE.

Yeah, I know.... I watched for years and now just read here.


One would argue that most healthy marriages include enjoying a sexual relationship with your spouse. Not just when TTC. If Ellie doesn't enjoy it, you've gotta ask why? Is it because she feels sick (whether real or imagined), or her or Jared not doing things that make sex enjoyable for both? Chances are she's voiced this with her sisters and/or mom, and they've probably said that they enjoy it or to lay there and think of England til it's over. There is a huge emphasis within Christianity and its branches that say it is a wife's duty to meet her husband's needs... so maybe everytime they've ever done it without TTC (and that has been a large portion of their marriage), it's probably not been very enjoyable and now she just doesn't want to figure out how to help that.

I disagree. I think she just isn’t attracted to Jared. She isn’t happy, so I think she just wants him to leave her alone like the kids. She’d rather hide in her bedroom to eat candy and watch tv just like she does when she’s pregnant and has a newborn. I don’t think it’s the baby that makes her happy, but the excuse to retreat from everyone.

Ellie definitely is attracted to Cullen. They’ve had some sketchy moments where it was pretty clear she’d be all over him given the chance....

And the camera guy that visited their property that one time. She was clearly very into him. I remember we were all shocked how boldly she was flirting with him in front of Jared. No one is attracted to (or has respect for) a simp.

Seriously, if she got in bed with one of them and they actually made her orgasm it would be a different story. She’s not willing to try because I am sure Bonnie could explain things to her because they enjoy their sex life. Very sad how she can say this and still think that anyone would envy her life.
