Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
I have absolutely no faith that all the kids would actually fast the entire 24 hours.
I think Shari and Chad actually could do it but I think the rest will secretly snack or at least drink from bathroom tap. (Here tap water is totally drinkable also from bathrooms, I don't know how it is in Utah.)
Being without food is testing even for adults. I have no doubt that in some point Russel will start whining when his stomach hurts and he won't have willpower to keep going on. Did they skip Eve on the vlog? She won't be fasting but will certainly snack and eat as healthy as any day she would (meaning that is she fed properly even on regular basis...)

Their fasting is very strict. I am Catholic and our rules are as follows.
Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.
I could not imagine going without water. I would trigger a migraine before lunch.

Yes plus the fact they are having salty fast food and soda as their last meal is very stupid, they are going to be so dehydrated!Kataja wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 3:03 am I have absolutely no faith that all the kids would actually fast the entire 24 hours.

isn't shari too old to grab her fork and knife that way? It's like she never learned how to do it properly

LOL, how many of them have phones, they could look up the difference between macaroon and macaron. Ruby, you were describing a coconut macaroon. Shari and Abby made macarons.

You guys might not care and that's cool, but Shari always talks about how she's gonna have a family and have kids, and that's cool if that's what she really wants, but I feel like she only really wants kids and a family because she wants to please her mom. (Someone said before on this forum that Shari is gonna be burnt out from having to take care of her siblings and will be so done by the time she has kids and I'm wondering if that will happen, cause then I'll feel absolutely awful for Shari's kids)
In her vlog of making macaroons, she literally says, "Maybe at my wedding, I'll have macarons instead of cake." This is like her 28363829 time she's mentioned she's gonna have kids and a family (a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point). Seriously though, for Shari, what is her obsession with getting married and having kids? No offense but there is a life outside of having a family.

Thanks for the insight that was interesting. It makes me so mad that churches are tax exempt when I hear stuff like they're sitting on $124m. Do your pastors/profits get payed handsomely like Joel Osteen does?jacobismom10 wrote:I used to be mormon/LDS fasting involves no food or liquids for some many hours. This day they filmed it was 24 hours and wasn't for "workers" but to try to cure Covid-19. Also during fasting they do tithe offering. By the way the church needs no ones money. They are sitting on $124+ Billion investment. The church alone could invest in the vaccine to cure covid but instead they are making members fast.SwiftlyD wrote:Does no water mean absolutely no liquids? Yes, Ruby, you were the one making the human growth and development (“maturation”) talk awkward. Get the camera out of your child’s face.
2. Be a mom and end Chad’s constant rude mocking comments that only encourage the other kids to laugh. Where is Kevin’s support in this? Oh yeah...
3. Fasting w/o water, especially for kids? Wow. Another example of the brainwashed LDS clan.

Macaroons are made with coconut and meringue and are simple drop cookies. A macaron is made with almond flour and is a sandwich cookie.Emily81 wrote:Macaroon is macaron in French. They might be allowed to use it with Ruby there, but she has proudly said that she doesn't allow them to use Google. I wish I could remember the exact time she said it. But when they were on their road trip, she was going on about how proud she was of Shari for calling a museum to get the hours. She could have just googled it, but she wasn't allowed to.emma2948 wrote:Wait what? Why aren't they allowed to use google? What if they need it to research stuff for school? Because in her family, that is what you do. She knows her worth is attending school and then when she turns 18 searching for the boy that will marry her and begin their family. It's what all the Griffith clan has done, Shari will be no different. It is a shame when she speaks of having more, and seems intelligent, but in the end, she knows she is to begin a family as soon as possible. Ruby knows how close it is, she is already talking about her grandchildren.emma2948 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:03 am You guys might not care and that's cool, but Shari always talks about how she's gonna have a family and have kids, and that's cool if that's what she really wants, but I feel like she only really wants kids and a family because she wants to please her mom. I'm really trying my best to make sense of that, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around the idea. It annoys me that to a lot of mormons, women are only good for being a housewife and have kids and its honestly sickening. So to Ruby, the only worth that Shari has is becoming a mother and a housewife just like herself, Shari is honestly so intelligent and could be a lawyer if she was willing to step outside her comfort zone and begin to question her beliefs and the world around her, and start thinking more critically about her priorities and where she wants to end up in the future, but I'm not holding my breath that she'd be willing to do that anytime soon.Happy+Charlie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 11:02 amBecause in her family, that is what you do. I remember she for sure said it in one of the phone buying videos which I laughed out loud at because she wanted to disable it on a flip phone like internet on those really works anywayslmmomSD wrote:They might be allowed to use it with Ruby there, but she has proudly said that she doesn't allow them to use Google. I just can't imagine being so terrified of my kids having knowledge that I forbid them to use Google. I had site blocking programs and monitored my search histories but I wasn't about to forbid my kids from seeking out knowledge.
Personal: right after he found out that one of his friends had a gay mom, my son googled "how lesbians have sex". I saw it in the search history, and just asked him about it. I knew he wasn't looking for porn. He was curious, that's all. He was only 11 or so. I can see Ruby wigging out if she saw that in her kids search history.

So I want to the above website and scrolled down a bit to find a list that said, "Tips for keeping cell phones as safe as possible:"
The second "tip" on the list literally said:
"Disable all forms of Internet on phones. Call your provider to ensure that all Internet access is disabled."
By the way, this doesn't seem like a tip, seems more like a very strict list of rules that all mormons must follow. What are your guys' thoughts on this?

She's obsessed with a being married and having children, because that's what her family and church tells her she's supposed to do. Regardless of what Rubes says, that her kids are free to be what they want to be... she's telling her girls, they need to grow up and get married and have tons of kids... and her boys they need to find a wife and have tons of kids.emma2948 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:03 am You guys might not care and that's cool, but Shari always talks about how she's gonna have a family and have kids, and that's cool if that's what she really wants, but I feel like she only really wants kids and a family because she wants to please her mom.
