I’m curious how she delivered, based on the clues from that sunrise photo. I would guess her water broke and she had an emergency c-section. But I’m not sure what she means by heading to recovery, that’s not the phraseology I would use. You go from the OR to a PACU unit for 1-2 hours. In my case, they then took me in my bed to the NICU to see the babies, then I went to my actual room for postpartum. I’m just wondering when she felt well enough to get a photo of the outside. Maybe Justin took it, or she took it before the c-section.

In my hospital, recovery is in your labor and delivery room. So I went from the OR back to my L&D room for a few hours to recover then onto the postpartum wing. Where my bed was I had a giant window so it was easy to take a similar photo.Tweedles3 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 1:39 pm I’m curious how she delivered, based on the clues from that sunrise photo. After my c section they took me back to the same room they held me in before the surgery (planned), but they called it recovery. I was there for like an hour maybe? Then they took me to my room. I wonder if all hospitals do it differently. But i was wondering the same about the picture!Tweedles3 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 1:39 pm I’m curious how she delivered, based on the clues from that sunrise photo. Thanks, my recovery wasn’t as nice. I had to share it with a patient with 5+ family members that were really noisy. No window, and the lights were down because I was so nauseous. I do wonder if she had the vaginal birth she really wanted, though,

At rancho springs, there’s a little recovery section after you get out of the OR (I’ve been there) and then you go to your recovery room, she probably took the picture after she got admitted before her c section and used it for the update while waiting to be transferred to her recovery/ post partum room.LisaLulu22 wrote:In my hospital, recovery is in your labor and delivery room. Why would it be an emergency C-section? She might have taken that picture after she got the spinal/right before the C-section. Maybe her water broke or she was having contractions, but that doesn't necessarily make it an emergency unless she had a placental abruption or they felt the babies' lives were in danger somehow. If she had actually had an emergency C-section, she would probably have written something about how scary it was or that there was a "close call" or something. Seems from the phrasing that everything went smoothly but just earlier than expected.

Emergency just refers to a c section that wasn't scheduledfossilfinger wrote:Why would it be an emergency C-section? She stated in the pic that the babies came earlier than planned, ahead of their scheduled date. I may be wrong, but I call that an emergency c-section, provided she had contractions and they could not hold the babies in. Scheduled c-sections don’t happen in the middle of the night, either. I had an emergency twin c-section three weeks ahead of my scheduled date. It’s not really an emergency with twins, it’s almost expected.
Just for reference, the spinal is done in the OR, with 10-15 caregivers working all around you, no time for pictures. It works fast and turns you into dead weight, it’s a bizarre feeling. Justin wouldn’t have been allowed in the room yet (if he was even with her). We’ll just have to wait and see.

She just posted a photo with the twins
It looks adorable I have baby fever haha
But why in the story she said 5.55 am and in the post time is 8.27 am???
Sorry not a native english speaker here but I thought when she wrote on the story heading to recovery that she had them already?!

Throughout her pregnancy I’ve always assumed it was a boy and a girl, but idk for some reason that photo makes me think it’s two boys. They also definitely don’t look 8 pounds each lmao

No, that's an urgent C-section. An emergency C-section is totally different, has extremely strict timelines and involves the mother's and/or baby's life being in danger. Not all unplanned c-sections are emergencies. In fact, most of them probably aren't. An emergency C-section is an actual medical term, it's not just a label you give any C-section that's not planned.frustratedytwatcher wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 2:23 pmEmergency just refers to a c section that wasn't scheduledfossilfinger wrote:Why would it be an emergency C-section? I came to this forum for them right when emma was born. Feels like just recently. I can't believe she has freaking twins!!!
And agreed I'm remembering my sons birth and all the tiny sweet moments with my sweet boy. Its magic. I hope all went well and everyone is healthy.

I think she took the photo before having the babies, then uploaded it after. I'm a little jealous, not gonna lie. I have big-time baby fever.Maite5 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 2:26 pm She just posted a photo with the twins

So she will have taken the pic at 5am, had the babies at 8am and then uploaded the pic to stories which automatically puts the time of when the photo was taken on your phone, not uploaded, and written the rest of it!Maite5 wrote:She just posted a photo with the twins
