Why would it be an emergency C-section? She might have taken that picture after she got the spinal/right before the C-section. Maybe her water broke or she was having contractions, but that doesn't necessarily make it an emergency unless she had a placental abruption or they felt the babies' lives were in danger somehow. If she had actually had an emergency C-section, she would probably have written something about how scary it was or that there was a "close call" or something. Seems from the phrasing that everything went smoothly but just earlier than expected.

No, that's an urgent C-section. An emergency C-section is totally different, has extremely strict timelines and involves the mother's and/or baby's life being in danger. Not all unplanned c-sections are emergencies. In fact, most of them probably aren't. An emergency C-section is an actual medical term, it's not just a label you give any C-section that's not planned.

I totally agree most unplanned aren't emergencies, however I'm in the UK and we either call them planned/scheduled or emergencies, even though plenty of those aren't emergencies they're just unplanned

Hey guys! I know we’re not quite ready for a new thread but since the babies came early, how about we make our new thread a little earlier too. That way we can have everything related to the birth, gender reveal, names, etc, in a fresh thread.

I am glad her babies are OK, and I’m happy she has that sweet pic of them doing skin to skin with her (mine went to the NICU and I didn’t get to hold them until later). The babies do have similar looking ears, is it possible they are identical boys?

I don’t think we can tell the genders based on how the look. Emma has very masculine features. If she wasn’t dressed like a girl, I would 100% think she was a boy.

I do really hope they’re both boys though. Just because she’s been annoying with the whole “we just have a feeling we will have all girls”

Same in Australia, we either have scheduled c-sections (also called 'elective' c-sections even though most elective c-sections are actually medically necessary ) or emergency c-sections (which are actual emergency ones and ones that just happen earlier than scheduled but there's no immediate danger to mum or bub)

Someone on Instagram pointed out that it may be two boys because if there was a girl, she would be wearing one of those newborn hats with the bows. I'm not sure if every hospital has those hats or if Rachelle and Justin would post something that would clearly give it away before an official announcement.

But as soon as I saw the picture I thought that they were both boys. We'll see. I do think that they will draw this out and it'll be a few days at least before an announcement.

There is no way she delivered two babies vaginally in two minutes.

You get skin to skin with babies as soon as you are out of theatre and in recovery. She has to have her IG moment.

Yeah, I didn’t want to go by the hats because hospitals go through them so fast, they might not had two of the same. When my toddler was born, all the hats were white with blue and pink stripes, so any baby could wear them. I don’t think they would have hats with bows, Rash would have had to bring those from home.
