Chickens being reptiles,I was thinking about salmonella, which is common in reptiles. So i googled,and....Alex shouldn't be handling the chicks AT ALL.I also would not have brought them into the kitchen, like Phil did.

Pregnant women, and adults 65 years or older should not handle or touch chicks, ducklings, or other live poultry. in areas where poultry live or roam. Zoonotic diseases that backyard poultry may spread to humans include salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis, and avian influenza viruses.Mar 2, 2018

Not sure how recent that new intro is but they don't say the girls' names in it and barely mention them. They also didn't say a thing about adoption.

Well I handled our chickens during my pregnancy. It’s a matter of “have you been exposed to them before”

I could've sworn they posted a while ago that they got a bed for the girls, yet according to her IG story earlier, they're still sleeping on mattresses on the floor. I hope they have a bed before the baby gets here. There's no reason for them to be sleeping on the floor. Why is the garden a bigger priority than the girls' room?

I am surprised that they haven't bought the girls proper beds yet...

She probably wants to show off her lack of stretch marks. I can’t think of any other reason.

Thank goodness Alex lost all interest once the heart defect ruined her perfect pregnancy and perfect bio-baby.

Because I am SO HAPPY that she stopped her sexualized dancing and Phil stopped with the butt-fetish videos. Haven't seen those since the heart defect announcement.

Lots of exposure to chickens and chicken poop, and now eating smoked salmon because she really felt like it.

Salmonellosis, listeriosis. It's all good. These things only ever happen to other pregnant people, right? Or maybe she no longer cares about this baby since it isn't the one she ordered.

She's so judgemental and critical when people do things she doesn't agree with (in a passive aggressive way).

But when she cherry picks what standard medical advice to follow because it suits her, well, that's fine then.

Got to laugh at her measly effort to join the ‘tap to tidy’ trend. I bet she just showed all that crap into that wardrobe & shut the door on it. Also that’s a very pitiful set up for her two children, why still no beds a whole month after moving into the farmhouse? Magically, she got her own bedframe, she could have ordered ones for the girls at the same time?!

If it was me, I would have ordered the children’s first, and like other posters pointed out, made them feel super special, before the bio baby & Endless NICU stays begun. Alex could go into early labour any time now, don’t understand with her background how she thinks the priority purchase is more fukin chicks.

When they were complaining about not being part of live birthing classes, that was just because Philip wanted to be the loud know-it-all in the group. The other people in that class really lucked out not having to be in the same room as these to smug idiots.

I was pretty horrified when Philip explained that they weren’t going to keep the turtle for long, just for a while so the girls could play with it that is a wild animal who is not socialised to human contact. Leave the poor creature alone!

AuntieEm wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 8:26 am Being a nurse myself, I can't imagine being pregnant, on the road, in a new location, doing telehealth visits and NOT having, at the bare minimum -a scale and a BP cuff to monitor my baseline wellbeing. I would also have a doppler and urine strips. Also my daughters would have a pediatrician by now in the new place. The girl has zero common sense. I would not want her at my child's bedside as their nurse. Good thing she's done.
Yes shows how little they care about the girls needs and well being, but they say in every video how they are just SOOoo busy and have SOOooo much to do to get settled. Before buying chickens and building a garden I would probably make a damn list of actually important things like changing my residency, getting my kids a new pediatrician etc.
Instead of manically half assing it into 'homesteading' they should have used this time, energy & resources before their miracle baby/huge disappointment is born is DEEP.CLEAN.THAT.HOUSE. first and foremost; they are filthy lazy slobs who live in utter chaos. They should have made the girls bedroom(s) into the room of their (Kinsley & Callie's) dreams so when baby Jesus is born they'll feel somewhat special and not like the bandaids they are. Since Alex is going to homeschool 🙄 they should have gotten the school room set up & ordered the curriculum so when August/September rolls around they're prepared. But the most important thing they should have done as soon as they knew they were leaving California and moving to Tennessee was to check out doctors to address Callie's hip dysplasia. Instead, they have let that fall by the wayside as they threw everything they have into chasing ALEX'S sole reason for living-to get pregnant. I remember her saying she didn't care about xxx when/if she got pregnant because she wants to experience ALL of it yet all she's done is complain about EVERY little thing.
She posted an Instagram story the other day in the girls room and they are both still sleeping on blow up mattresses.... but they spend 7k on a lawnmower and money on chickens and all sorts of homesteading crap. I cannot even believe they weren’t first and foremost focusing on FURNISHING their house or at the very least getting their kids real beds and mattresses. They keep making statements about how they are SO frugal and minimalists... no Alex you are not the definition of a minimalist. Minimalists have the bare necessities and that’s it. Necessities include BEDS not CHICKENS. Why the crazy rush to start homesteading ? They OWN the house and could embark on that adventure at any point in the future...

That last video was such a snooze. 2 things idgaf about? Chickens and gardens. Fast forwarded through the whole thing. I would rather see them work on their house, that’s way more interesting that chickens and dirt.

The mower is ridiculously small for the amount he has to mow.if I were them I would just mow around their yard area and paths to the woods or for walking and let the grass grow up and let a farmer cut it down twice a year for hay!

They are only minimalists when it comes to those girls. They dont do anything for them and it makes me so sad for them and for their birth moms who I’m sure expected way better than this for those girls. It’s really sad

From Phil's most recent post.
You don't train your children, you teach and guide them.
You train a dog, not a child!

Anyone else feel like she's trolling us with that hair tutorial? Girlfriend was sectioning her hair and holding it in place WITH HER MOUTH. Go buy some alligator clips. They're $5 and won't coat your hair in saliva.

I’m more concerned about there it said the girls were holding the chicks with too much loving force. AKA, squishing/hurting the poor things. Just like Callie and the frog from his insta a while back.
