I’m just shocked they’ve managed to push out like eight videos in two weeks. Surely that won’t be sustainable (or anything even close to that), but they were probably able to churn out a lot of filming during their hospital stay since they couldn’t have any visitors. Other than the big reveals which are quickly fading, how much interesting newborns at home content can you come up with?

Also fairly appalled than in the COVID climate they brought two preemies home to a house that had been resideD in by a friend and her two kids who have constant exposure to a first responder who has surely had exposure risk, and now add in her mom who has had to travel for two days straight.

I was wondering before the twins were born if they'd have biblical names...then I'm like no they can't be THAT devoted bc there are certain things they do that aren't too Christian-like (I know nobody's perfect all the time but still).

Wouldn't she mention them being biblical names when she was introducing the boys and the meaning behind their names?

It's probably that they aren't religious enough that the Biblical origin swayed their opinion in a significant way, even if they were introduced to them through their church. I mean, one of Emma's middle names is Grace, so they definitely like referencing their religion in their kids' names. Besides, now they match Lauren's son, Joshua, so they can take kitschy cousin pictures about "all the little Swannie miracles" or some shit.

Could be but I don't think so. She said she has been having migraines (which are super exhausting) and she's been editing non-stop lately. I'm sure she's not used to working this much, AND she's still recovering from the c-section. I'm not surprised she wants a day off, I would too.

As someone who had a very easy c section recovery it still takes a lot out of you... Plus she's got two babies that need a lot right now.

Besides, she wouldn't do something over if Emma didn't have a cute reaction she would just post it. How many times have we seen the same messes in multiple videos? She doesn't care about perfection.

Why fake twins though? Couldn't they have technically been twins anyway because (and I'm so sorry I have no idea about the right terminology here) they were made from the same batch (Jesus that does not sound correct at all)

I genuinely believed that Rachelle was jealous of Alex (Phil and Alex) for having a singleton, a girl for sure, and a great clock bait opportunity #chd. I feel like there's some sort of competition going on, at least from her side. That's why this transfer was so rushed. And a double transfer.

I'm wondering if she's shooting out videos because in a couple of weeks her twins will be old news and the OVF community on Youtube will be looking to P&A

Well twins are usually amazing because they are a coincidence, an abnormality. In this case, this was an intentional act on their part to implant 2. I don't find this amazing and actually feel sorry for the two boys who will have to share everything.

If it was a cutest reaction ever, she would have posted it already as she’d be sooo proud of Emma.

Obviously, rest and recovery and bonding is the most important thing right now, however, she did push 3-4 videos out back to back.

I honestly think the reaction from Emma will be underwhelming and that makes Rachelle not that excited to edit/post in a rush.

If you want to get really technical, dizygotic (fraternal) twins are typically only seen in older mothers (women are more likely to release more than one egg per cycle as they advance in age) and those that undergo IVF, or people who have fraternal twins running in the mother's lineage. Reuben and Asher could have, under natural circumstances, still been twins, but the odds of it happening independently of IVF with Rash being young and (presumably) no funky ovarian genetics are so incredibly low. Possible? Yes, but highly improbable. IVF is also why we as a species have seen an increase in twin/triplet/higher order multiple births in the last few decades, fun fact.

Now, monozygotic (identical) twins would be true twins no matter the situation, since it's impossible to control an embryo spontaneously splitting into 2 fetuses.

I hope the boys will be the swift kick in the ass Rash and Justin need to be better parents, but I doubt it. I think Emma, even with her delays and neediness, is largely an easy-going child and they could pawn her off onto family and friends while they went out and lived their lives, almost like a pet. The boys won't be nearly as easy, especially with quarantine still in effect and the predicted second wave on the way.

Interestingly, identical twins are also more likely after IVF than in a natural cycle. No one really knows why, but it seems that interventions with the embryo increase the chances, as frozen embryo transfers and those that have assisted hatching are even more likely to split.

Actually, many languages have different words for fraternal and maternal twins. In. my language, "twins" like these 2 are called "doubles" - like 2 siblings born at the same time. And the identical twins are called twins - aka lookalikes.

That’s so interesting, I’ve never heard that before! It makes sense.

As an IVF mama, I will never transfer 2 embryos. My doc put the fear of multiples in us and we listen. I’m convinced if I put in 2 minutes that I will get 3 or 4. I just can’t imagine taking that risk. Granted, I also tested my embryos so mine are more likely to stick around than Rachelles.
