8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
what really threw me off is the fact that Ruby admitted she wasn’t passionate about clothes... then why did you decide to start a clothing line?? That’s a bit mind boggling.

I completely agree. You can't start and have a successful business unless you are passionate about it. You need to eat, sleep and breathe that business. Hearing her say she wasn't passionate about clothes was frustrating. I know people who have started a businesses and they put their heart and soul into it. Ruby just throws money at it thinking it will be successful since she's a successful youtuber. It must go hand in hand. It was only to feed her ego and to keep up with her sisters. With that, I'm pretty sure that book she's been working on will tank too. I just know it will have an oversized author's picture of her with a thrilling bio on the book sleeve. Probably will do book signings next fan meetups.

Ruby saying that Coronavirus wasn't "big in the US yet" in February just sounds like Esme Squalor in 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' saying things weren't 'in'. She kind of reminds me of her too.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
People do need help mentally and emotionally right now... thats the one thing Ruby was right about in her video. But how is Ruby supposed to provide that to strangers when she refuses to do it for her own children?? That's where I'm confused? She sends Eve (her precious scared 6 year old) off to sleep without even providing any sort of comfort/security for her during a freaking global pandemic for goodness sake. Same goes with all her kids. It's no wonder they no longer go to her for any emotional comfort, Ruby does not provide it for them. So how in the world will she provide it to strangers?
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Can't beleive I thought that the title of, "It's time to quit" led me to think that Ruby meant quitting YouTube. She probably won't quit YouTube until the day she dies.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
A factory in China... why do I have a feeling that she used hard intensive child labour and provided poor ass working conditions for the people working in HeR stupid factory to make her stupid Ruby Doodoo collection... Also, the expenses of paying her workers in China would be much cheaper and she would have to deal with much less labour laws in China.. not surprised she decided to set up a factory in China rather then the US.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Okay, I no longer see 8 Passengers money as belonging to Ruby and Kevin. It's not Ruby's money that she started Ruby dooby do with, it was the money that her kids basically made by being present in those videos that she took away from them to start this stupid company that eventually failed (in my opinion it would've failed either with or without this virus going on)
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Did anybody really think that her “I can but these clothes at Target” clothes would sell? First of all she and her sisters have the worst taste in deciding what is stylish for other girls and women. ( I do have to admit that Rigby Dooby does have some cute stuff) but really? Kevin probably told her that they weren’t going to spend another dime on CLOTHES.
And then she sits there and wines about not going to Disneyland or on any other big trip. I wish I could go to Disneyland just once. vlogging income down 80%. Yahoo!
I can’t stand this woman!!!! And the eyelashes. I mean the spiders on her eyes. She blabs on and on and all you can see are those spiders. who told her they looked good?
Anyway, another day with Ruby Dooby. You spoiled, selfish, lazy excuse for a woman and mother. And I want to know why she isn’t taking the clothes and shoes to Deseret Industries. The church thrift store. And don’t listen to anything she or any other LDS vlogger says about the church. They are such hypocrites. Say one thing and act and behave another way.
Thank you for letting me vent!

I was curious, so I looked on social blade and calculated that the 8 Passengers channel has received roughly 45% fewer views on their videos from January through April of this year compared to the same time frame last year. Assuming the numbers are right, it went from 113 million in '19 down to 63 million.
I don't really watch any other family vlogs, but I wonder if they are gradually losing their cool/interest factor among the 10-15 age group that seem to really view these videos and make up most of the comments on their IG. It seems like the big trend now is individual vlogs of people in their late teens and 20's versus family vlogs. I imagine the companies doing brand deals/sponsorships aren't as willing to spend money on this form of advertising at this time, especially with their subscriber count probably near its peak and views trending down overall.
It'll be interesting to see where Kevin and Ruby are at this time next year if things don't improve much for them financially and for the channel as far as getting a lot more subscribers or increased views compared to 2019. Kevin's salary is probably a bit limited as a university professor in terms of annual salary raises likely not being much more than CoL increases, though he'll hopefully make decent side money with his personal business he started a few months back.

Shari and Chad are back in the gym. It's business as usual in Utah by the looks of things. It'll be interesting to see how many cases the state has in a few weeks time.

I genuinely cannot believe how relaxed the US has been about coronavirus and easing restrictions. I just looked up how many cases Utah has and it's around 6100. In Australia, we have a total of less than 7000, which isn't that far off from the number of cases in Utah alone, and we're only just starting to ease restrictions in some states, and even then gyms are still closed, and will be one of the things to open last.Alycat_2001_uk wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 2:43 am Shari and Chad are back in the gym. Exactly, even in my small city we have only 72 cases but everything is still closed. Our premier will make announcements this week regarding opening the provincegolden12345f wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 7:05 amI genuinely cannot believe how relaxed the US has been about coronavirus and easing restrictions. How rude were Ruby Kevin and Shari to Chad in the vlog over him practicing Spanish or whatever he was doing? Standing in the kitchen snickering and making fun of him all while vlogging it. No wonder these kids don’t excel in school, they’re mocked, and education is made to seem so unimportant even by the professor himself.
Of course Ruby can’t give cookies to someone else without vlogging it to make sure everyone knows how nice she is. She sure thinks she’s the “cool mom” doesn’t she.

I really cannot even fathom going to a gym right now, even with limited numbers. I live in NY state and I’m not sure what phase of reopening the gyms are in but even when we get there eventually I don’t think I will be going to one right away. I mean the weather is getting nicer and if you live out in the suburbs it’s pretty easy to exercise outside - the gym just does not seem worth it right now. I’m honestly surprised the Franke’s don’t have any home gym equipment since they are so obsessed with body building.

I'm still very concerned Chad has to buy his own clothes. What on earth could he possibly have done? It's like he's renting a room in his own parents house. I can't imagine Heavenly Father is happy with how they're parenting him.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
They probably could build a gym in Ruby doos failed office space, but she probably won't let them. I also find it surprising that with all the money that they DON'T spend on their kids, they could definetely pretty much build an at home gym with different types of equipment.mix10 wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 8:25 am I really cannot even fathom going to a gym right now, even with limited numbers. The fact that Chad also has to buy his own school supplies is upsetting, I've already mentioned the YouTube money should be used more for the kids cause no one would watch if it was just Ruby and Kevin filming themselves 1000s of times before.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Also I don't know if this is more of a cultural(American) and/or Mormon thing, but why is Ruby and Kevin so obsessed with their kids dating? My parents (they are Indian) and they've always been way more focused on me doing well in school first before "dating." Of course they find it important I have friends, but they think that my attention (as a student) should be more focused on my school work rather then getting a boyfriend. I've seen a lot of other American youtubers who seem to also always put their friends/boyfriends/girlfriends first before their school work which is concerning to me, cause while school isn't everything, it still is very important. I think the fact that Chad wants to wait until college to start dating shows a sense of maturity that Ruby and Kevin do not have.

I get that raw cookie dough is really good, but they pick it up with their hands, eat it, leave saliva on their fingers and pick up more cookie dough . (Double dipping is disgusting) Guess they learned their cleanliness from Ruby.
