I think Ellie encourages Jackson to draw because it keeps him quiet.
She favours whichever child is the easiest. Calvin “has a mind of his own” and prefers to play with toys which creates a mess. Jackson sitting quietly is far more preferable to her.

Joel has taken the kids camping, skiing, shooting, etc. The kids would benefit greatly from being in a structured sport, and for more than a couple of weekends because neither parent can be bothered to commit to take them on the regular.
What does Bonnie do with her kids outside the home? Piano lessons for the two oldest is the only thing that comes to mind.
They did go to swimming lessons for five minutes last summer or so. But like Cody’s baseball, it quickly became just a memory.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Meth Houses and Ugly Blouses | Part# 60
So let me get this straight, Bonnie got to spend 4 hours alone celebrating her mom for mother’s day and joel has to bring the whole family to celebrate his?! I’m sorry, I think joel should have also been able to spend hours alone with his mom! But maybe that’s just me! If my husband asked to spend a few hours with his mom for mother’s day, I would be pushing him out the door and he would do the same for me. Maybe I am over exaggerating?

I'm in Aus and in the state I live in, I assume we aren't as quarantined as them but no beauty salon - regardless of home salon or mobile, cannot work.

She does well at glueing them on.

It does look like she got her eyebrows done recently and Ellie got her hair dyed. I guess the salons are open again in Utah. Personally, I wouldn't go right now but those Griffiths are quite vain (and dumb) so...

Bonnie Hoellein: Meth Houses and Ugly Blouses | Part# 60
Bonnie has gone on many of those ski trips as well. She’s also taken the kids on bike rides, lake trips etc. She’s with the kids everyday. Is she lazy? Absolutely. Can we dismiss her involvement and say she’s never done anything with her kids? Not exactly. Joel hasn’t had much close involvement with the kids in the last year and a half. He doesn’t seem as involved with his parents as he once was, and not with the church either. He used to be the guy that seemed to keep busy serving others and trying to teach his kids about the “good old days,” but now he’s lazy, withdrawn, sneaky and arrogant. He isn’t particularly close to the boys, and tells them to “man up” if they don’t act the way he expects them to. His minimal Interest relies on them being just like him. His interest in Olivia appears to be none. Many have said this is due to gender roles, but I’m not so sure. I just think he’s disinterested in everything but private time with Bonnie and showy toys now. His projects could possibly be interests, but I think they are a way for him to escape the things he doesn’t want to do (like care for the kids).Ohnonotme wrote:Joel has taken the kids camping, skiing, shooting, etc. The kids would benefit greatly from being in a structured sport, and for more than a couple of weekends because neither parent can be bothered to commit to take them on the regular.

Regarding why Joel had the kids and Bonnie with him when he went to see his mom, I’m thinking she’s the type of Grandma that loves to see everyone. I’m not sure Bonnie MADE him take her and the kids with him. If she had stayed home people would be hating on that too saying she couldn’t be bothered to go see her. I think Grandma Griff is the type to prefer alone time, whereas Grandma Hoellein is the professional grandma who makes chocolate with the kids, always has a sledding hill setup, and a stocked soda fridge for them all to “help themselves.” It’s also possible Joel prefers to have the kids there as a distraction so his parents don’t ask him about what he’s doing with his life.
Joel made that IG to go along with his channel (except I’m sure Bonnie made it). He didn’t make a post for Mother’s Day about either his mom or Bonnie. Actually, he hasn’t posted anything yet. He could be posting a quick pic everyday of what he’s doing. He had an ok concept with “Today’s Task” but he’s clearly more interested in helping Bonnie exploit the kids than actually creating his own revenue stream.

For now, they all should have avoided visiting their senior parents or at least practiced social distancing outdoors 2 meters apart. Bonnie's IG pictures showed them all standing close together.Sickandtired wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 4:49 pm So let me get this straight, Bonnie got to spend 4 hours alone celebrating her mom for mother’s day and joel has to bring the whole family to celebrate his?! Utah has open up cautiously, but still concerned about older adults:
For high risk individuals — like people over the age of 60 or with underlying conditions — they are still in the red phase and should take extra precautions to remain safe. Utah’s epidemiologist Angela Dunn said that the state will use three metrics to determine if the state needs to move back to red or can stay in orange.

Joel has had the time and knowledge to develop his channel and IG. I'm surprised he hasn't even linked his channel on his IG account. Joel's lack of ambition is stunning in the midst of a pandemic where YouTube income is not certain.HelloSweetie wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 5:13 am Joel made that IG to go along with his channel (except I’m sure Bonnie made it). I was trying to point out that Bonnie does nothing/very little on a one on one basis with her children. I knew I should have added that yes, she does obviously go on family outings, but I was referring to comments that Joel needs to do more activities with his kids.HelloSweetie wrote:Bonnie has gone on many of those ski trips as well. Activity for activity, he wins hands down.
Taking them to her sisters on her own to play does not count.
Not every criticism of Bonnie needs a Joel/Ellie does it worse. She can be stand alone rotten, lol, surely.

Shaving her face and putting that shit in her hair is about as low as you can go. She would be better off not posting anything. Poor Joel has to sleep next to that greasy mess in a hair cap. That's's grounds for divorce - haha.gopedjane wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 8:59 amTalk about hitting the bottom of the barrel content. Her and Ellie already posted this content. i know what you were saying, but I disagree. We can’t break it down activity by activity like that when Bonnie spends far more time with the kids than Joel does and has for years. Some examples of what we’ve seen (because we only know what we’ve seen).., she’s taken them swimming, to the library, on neighborhood walks, bike rides, to the park and to play date lunches with friends. Has she does this often, regularly or enough? Absolutely not! You can’t list the few things we’ve seen Joel do (most is which left Olivia out btw) and say he’s a more active parent. This is just biased and not true. Plus I never even mentioned Ellie...
The activities that include all the kids tend to include both Bonnie and Joel. When it comes to one on ones, each appears to do more with the same gender kids. Is either one what I would call active or involved? Not at all.
For the millionth time, we don’t have to build Joel up or exaggerate his involvement to knock Bonnie down farther. That shows bias. If you think a parent should be involved, then there shouldn’t be higher expectations for one gender over the other. Boston is a needy and sensitive child. He is crying out for help. There is no excuse for both Joel and Bonnie to not be giving him more one on one time.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Meth Houses and Ugly Blouses | Part# 60
We can agree to disagree, that’s fine. I just don’t get it when Bonnie completely screws up, like with Cody’s birthday, deflection is immediately thrown at Joel. You said yourself if only Joel put in as much time into his children (paraphrasing) as he did his trucks and lawn, but no mention of if only Bonnie put in as much time to them as she does with self care. No criticism of her teaching Lincoln that it’s ok to lie, when she was on the phone to Joel about how “busy” she was. When she really screws up, it’s always countered with Joel choosing to leave it in the vlog. Maybe he leaves it in there because they’ve both forgotten what it’s like to be a “normal” family, and not exploit your children for views.HelloSweetie wrote:i know what you were saying, but I disagree. Bonnie Hoellein: Meth Houses and Ugly Blouses | Part# 60
The irony of your statement that it doesn’t always have ti be that Ellie or Joel is worse (when I never even said that) while consistently getting defensive because anyone else was even included in the criticism of Bonnie (who you clearly think is the devil) is not lost on me. I have always agreed and it’s completely been my point that they all suck.
To the deflection argument. Deflection isn’t immediately thrown at Joel. ACCOUNTABILITY is also thrown his way. He is watching and participating in things like this on a daily basis. It isn’t just Bonnie doing it. For everything that happens there is an echo chamber of the same comments on this board calling Bonnie out, but very few people include Joel. That’s why I comment that. It’s something ADDITIONAL to contribute to the conversation.
It isn’t a deflection, it’s just interpreted as that because people want to keep the focus solely on Bonnie. How hard is it to say Bonnie AND Joel? Thing is, the issues at home aren’t all Bonnie. There are some SERIOUS Joel issues being ignored in order to keep the argument that Bonnie is in control of everything. Joel has either changed, or he was never who we thought he was. It’s a lot more interesting to have fresh discussions than to see 20 posts a day saying the same thing. Without debate and discussion the board becomes a crazy echo chamber of hate and irrationality before it eventually dies... which is only beneficial to the YTer by the way.
So is acknowledging Joel meant to be a deflection? Not at all. They both suck and need to step it up significantly. Thank god they are done reproducing.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Meth Houses and Ugly Blouses | Part# 60
I'm way late to reply to this subject but many public schools cannot afford to give training to teachers for them to actually teach dyslexia and in a state like Utah where the culture is to be married at 19 and pregnant before 21 I doubt there is an emphasis on education anywhere in the state. Obviously that is a hot take and majorly stereotyped based off what I've seen from all these Utah vloggers but I think the schools are majorly to blame aside from genetics. And I'm sure there is a genetic problem in this family but they should have been given advice in school on how to make reading and writing easier for their specific problem. I know everyone loves Bella Thorne's Disney TTI video where she talks about mixing up letters due to dyslexia and mentions how her homework was to read street signs and use context clues, the Griffith's family should have been given advice like this to make reading easier for them. My knowledge on education mostly comes from my sorority, Pi Beta Phi (sorry, I had to plug it here) because literacy is our philanthropy and even in FL where the literacy rate is low we still get at least one teacher trained so they can work with the kids who have trouble reading and writing. If the school cannot afford it the sorority chapter will request to send funding from our philanthropy budget there. Aside from that there is always college kids volunteering at schools and are usually put in classrooms to help with math and reading because those are the 2 subjects that tend to be the most struggled with and get the least help with at home.ICantEven wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 8:24 am I've been really intrigued by the spelling issues of the whole family, and I'm starting to think their issues could be largely genetic. They all tend to have issues with homophones. This could be a sign of dyslexia, but I haven't noticed letter transpositions such as "felt" vs "left" which would also tend to be present. Of course the family doesn't value education, and maybe poor spelling is somehow considered a "cute helpless woman" characteristic in their warped minds (can't recall seeing noticeably poor spelling from any of the boys or men?). But at least in the adults, it's hard to believe that over time they would not recognize the most basic words. I'm thinking grandma G writing "cumfy" for "comfy". It baffles me if she can really not look at that and be bothered by it!
I screenshotted one of Ruby's IG stories a while ago where she said "I got teary, teery, teiry, covering all my spelling bases." If a 30-something truly can type all of those possibilities out and not recognize which spelling is correct, that is not normal.
I did read that severe spelling difficulty in adulthood has a strong genetic component. And a study connected misspellings such as "soss" for "sauce" to long term memory issues. So I'm feeling like there could be something going on besides just not caring.
Sorry for the long post... I'm just genuinely intrigued by the Griffiths spelling, and since I've never known adults to have so much trouble with basic words, I just had to do some digging.

Yeah. It’s weird. The channel name is ‘Bonnie Hoellein’. I like to come here to gossip about how abnormal and evil I think Bonnie is, LOL. Up until their “quarantine” videos, Joel was kind of an afterthought and only in the videos in spurts or when Bonnie was disabled by drug abuse. Who knows if he even edits the videos anymore. Frankly, he’s boring as hell and kind of a simpleton, submissive sidekick and sometimes personal assistant and emotional support animal to the bossbabe.

Did you guys see Jennifers stories over on her instagram? Bonnie and Julie both posted a picture wishing their mom a happy mothersday. She reposted both of them. The one with Bonnie Jennifer added the text “Friday was amazing” the one with Julie she added “i can’t stop looking at her she’s so beautiful”.
