Why is Chad always the one doing all the car stuff for Shari? I think it’s sweet that he helps her but he can’t even drive yet, why can’t Kevin teach his daughter how to put coolant in her car?? I know he works but it seems like he is never helping with anything. (And not saying moms can’t help with car stuff either, just that Ruby is totally incompetent lol)

I think Chad did something unacceptable to Mormons but probably common for a teenager.
I’m thinking maybe he got into a fight, maybe he was caught dating like without permission, having sex, smoking weed or probably even masturbation. Or maybe he suggested god doesn’t exist or that Mormons are wrong and probably Buddhism is the true religion. Lol.

Why would you send your child away? I think maybe only if he is a danger to himself or to his siblings. Not for punishment.

Anyway I think it kind of backfired. Chad realized he can do quite well on his own and he just has to hang in there for a couple more years

The worst part is that they made big bucks off the Chad comes home videos. They even loaned him out to Bonnie for a vlog! They still use him for thumbnails because he brings in the most views. Ruby once said that it was like "pulling your child out of traffic when you see that they're in danger", which doesn't make sense. I had to grab my son once because he was about to step off the curb in front of a bus. That was a reflex action. Sending your child away isn't a reflex, or shouldn't be. It requires thought and discussion, and in their case, likely prayer and talking to church leaders.
My guess? Internet porn. They're not supposed to go on Google unsupervised. There's nothing unusual about a teenage boy looking for porn. You don't want them to do it without discussing it with them, (victimization of women in the industry, the difference between that and sex between a loving couple, etc) and it's not something I would _encourage_, but I can see Ruby completely wigging out.
And then, when he gets done, they make thousands of dollars doing reunion videos, loan him out to an aunt, _tell_ him he can go to public school if he wants, but buy a uniform for him, and only cave on the school because of pressure from viewers. Then they go on vacation, and she posts from a luxury yacht in the BVI (that Chad paid for) that he's going to be a "great man of the house" while they were gone because of the skills he picked up at Anasazi. But she won't buy him things he needs for public school.
For him to not be able to drive because of legal issues, it would have had to have been something car-related like DUI or joyriding. I think it's just Ruby exerting more control over him. Can't give the problem child freedom. Maybe if he had agreed to the private school, she would let him get his license, because then he could help drive the other kids to school. What is Ruby going to do when Shari graduates? Is she going to start letting Chad drive, or is she going to actually haul her ass out of bed in the morning and take the kids to school?

Ruby will probably just pay someone else to take her kids to school. She's done it before. I remember in a vlog a long time ago they had a driver pick them up at their house and drop them off at school, which in my opinion was totally unnecessary and a complete waste of money as Ruby was always there those mornings to drive the kids to school herself. But since they are loaded with money, they probably will do that again.

It's probably a mormon thing. Men are expected to do the outside tasks (throwing out garbage, car maintenance, find a real job outside the house) while women stay indoors (cleaning,cooking, taking care of kids, getting a job that they can do at home AKA YouTube). I'm sure not all mormons do this, but the ones on YouTube definetely seem to follow this^^

It's probably a mormon thing. Men are expected to do the outside tasks (throwing out garbage, car maintenance, find a real job outside the house) while women stay indoors (cleaning,cooking, taking care of kids, getting a job that they can do at home AKA YouTube). I'm sure not all mormons do this, but the ones on YouTube definetely seem to follow this^^

That's true, but Kevin seems to avoid anything that might get his hands dirty. He could certainly help Shari too.

At this point, it doesn't seem Chad's life is any better than had he not gone away to Anazzai. Unfortunately, it appears he is a product of parents who cannot do one of the first things a Christian is taught about--FORGIVENESS! Forgiving someone allows you to move on and accept that person back into your fold. Seems it is more about Ruby and Kevin's issues, not being able to forgive and move on, than it is about Chad anymore. Maybe it is different for Chad off camera, and they only do it for the drama and bitching from all of us, but I tend to feel it is truly how he is treated and Ruby and Kevin cannot call themselves good Christians if they can't forgive their child and move on.

I just hope Chad finds acceptance from someone else once he is able to escape their chains, and that he looks back and goes after them for compensation they withheld from him as a child and young man. I don't wish it upon him to escape the religion he has been brought up on, unless it is his desire, because doing so will mean leaving his entire immediate and extended family. However, if he finds just one person (male or female) that he can live a good life with, just that one person can fill the void of all the others.

I know this is probably a pretty minor thing, but Shari said that none of the girls really own any fancy dresses, which I thought was kind of weird. They all seem kinda girly to some extent and would like to own dresses. But then I realized that that's probably cause Ruby had them throw out their old dresses in order to make space for her Ruby doo doo clothes, which Ruby thought she would be continuing. Either that or they grew out of the majority of their old ones and Ruby absolutely refuses to spend any money on new clothes since she can't find any "modest but cute teen clothing."

LOL, I used to have this assumption (chores are divided by sex), but then I watched Jennifer's vlogs and she cleans the windows, and the cars, and we all know Jennifer is the example of everything. Now, it could just be she is so perfect and learned early on that Chad can't do anything as good as she does, so she even took over his responsibilities. Or, it could just be Chad is lazy so she knows she has to do it. After-all, Joel does the yard work for them and you never really see Chad getting his hands dirty so........

Chad has said he is thinking of joining the military. With his upbringing, he would probably do really well. He's used to doing as he's told without asking questions. Not slamming military life-- my family is very military oriented. But it definitely requires an ability to subjugate your own wants to the group. And the Griffiths excel at that sort of indoctrination.

Is it just me or does all of Franky girls’ hair always look greasy, including Ruby? Dirty hair stinks. I guess I should include Chad and Russell in that statement too. Water, soap and shampoo are cheap. Take a shower and clean up, that is IF Ruby paid the water bill.

Ruby only washes 4 times a month, so it will tend to look especially greasy with thin/fine hair. I am trying to figure out why Shari's shower is the only working one in a house of 5-6 bathrooms.....

It could be that Chad has a full-time job so that's why Jennifer does a lot around the house while he's at work. We all know all her sons-in-law (except Kevin) are lazy and take naps all day long. The least they can do is the lawn and take care of the cars.

I still find it disturbing that Ruby has convinced Russell that his cousin Emma is his girlfriend. No even denying it when Chad called them out. I swear Ruby is intentionally destroying her children at this point.

Speaking of intentionally manipulating and destroying people, did anyone notice that when Kevin was out working while Ruby pissed the day away, he said he had a bunch of meetings with "ConneXions"? Do you think that means he is taking the course too, or is orchestrating Ruby's whole quasi-psych career? I am starting to think this is an MLM....with an infinitely more dangerous product/service than crappy make-up or vitamins. I bet the podcast is the first step in establishing their downline, sort of like how their genealogical "friends" recruited them.

Ruby is so lazy. The prom happened weeks ago and both her sister and Shari uploaded vlogs about it before her. She literally stole an entire chunk of footage from Shari's vlog. The part where Kevin is talking to Dwight pretending it is Shari's date, is in Shari's vlog right at the end. Didn't have time to compare the vlogs too closely, but I wouldn't be surprised if she stole more footage from Shari and her sister, many of the parts seemed almost identical to her sister's vlog. Could be because they were filming the same thing, but you'd think she would try to include different parts in her vlog instead of literally just copying her sister and Shari.

It's so obvious how scripted these vlogs are, even before Ruby doo doo calls Shari to come down to see her "date," Shari is already waiting at the top of the steps to be called. You can see Shari and her legs waiting for Ruby to say something before she walks down the stairs. (Timestamp: 4:03-4:12)

Same thing with all of them dancing, maybe the kids had fun at first, but when they got tired, all the parents probably had them get up and start dancing again. And so the kids (including the cousins) had to hype it up to liven the party and keep their stupid parents happy.

Also, can we talk about how Abbey's probably gonna be the next neglected child? First Chad, then Julie, now Abbey. You can clearly see how much she doesn't want to be there at around the 4:23 timestamp when Shari comes down and Abbey tries to smile at first, but then just gives up and gives viewers a really worn out look on her face. I wonder if she's tired of being in the spotlight? Also, I wonder if Ruby is done filming her because she's no longer a cute little kid, and she's beginning to mature into her body. Not saying there is anything wrong with this, but I have a feeling Ruby wants all her daughters to be super skinny, and since Abbey is developing, Ruby is gonna stop showcasing her in the vlogs. This is also considering the fact that Ruby probably doesn't tell her how beautiful she is unlike how she probably always tells Shari and Julie.

Anyway, I wonder if the reason Dwight always runs away from Shari and Ruby poo is because they never spend any time with him unless its for the camera.

It looks like the tint on the car window mixed with the angle of the sun is causing that color. Notice how the part of her hair and shirt that is even with her throat have the same blue/white color.

Sooo does anyone else think these mormon housewives need to find something better to do than clean so obsessively, or did I just grow up in a dirty family lol? I've never seen anyone bother to clean behind their washer and dryer since, you know, nobody ever sees there anyway. I've wondered about this a lot with the Griffiths and their obsessive cleaning (while somehow also being incredibly dirty people?). Do they have nothing better to do?

That family dynamic is crashing and burning. The older kids just don't hold back against Ruby much anymore, probably because she acts so unlike a mother these days that it doesn't feel inappropriate to them to do so. Shari and Chad are total know-it-alls toward her now, it seems super annoying if I were her but I'm kind of loving it from afar lol.

Also my family always did jam in meatballs!
