Well, this is getting interesting. Sadly, even if CPS does get involved, I don't think there will be much substantial evidence to make them take action. On the other hand, if it does get around that she's being investigated by the CPS and if Youtube is the one that took down her video because it's getting reported for child abuse, I feel like there's a chance their channel will be demonetized. Still, she doesn't seem too bothered by the whole thing, she posted an Instagram story four hours ago, looks like her and Kevin, April and Davey, and Shanna and Cory Leroy went on a date night, without the kids of course. Weren't people on here saying that she said she was going to post something Saturday to address the issues and she didn't? I didn't get to see her Instagram story, so I'm not sure. You'd think she'd have enough sense at least to lay low for a while, but no, she has to showcase her and Kevin leaving their kids alone again.

I'm also just kind of curious, what do you guys think will happen if her channel does get demonetized? Like I said above, there's not really a case for CPS, so I feel like the only consequence she might face if people keep reporting and speaking out against her is possibly getting demonetized or maybe even her channel deleted. I don't know, I want those kids off of Youtube and to stop being exploited, but I also really worry what would happen if she doesn't have Youtube anymore. I think the only reason she somewhat feeds her kids and gives them clothes to wear is because of the camera. I just feel like I'd be scared for those kids if they disappeared from Youtube, because then Ruby will do as she pleases to them and won't have to keep up appearances for the camera. I just feel like there's no good way to help them - CPS won't remove the children from her home and if her channel gets taken away she'll just have a greater ability to abuse and get away with it.

I love that she took the Abcmouse post down. I tweeted them and I think others did too, companies often take that stuff seriously!

Ruby needs to be sent away to some kind of on site therapy or psychiatric facility where she can spend a few months dealing with her own problems and upbringing and get healthier so that her kids don’t continue to suffer her wrath. I almost feel like Kevin must know she has a genuine problem but it’s easier for him to totally ignore it so she can go on handling the kids (but doing what for them exactly?) and he can ignore his family like he loves to do. Then maybe the extended family will 1. Learn that her behavior and actions are not normal or okay and 2. Consider whether maybe they themselves should seek therapy for dealing with their own childhoods.
Another thought - saying she should go to some kind of inpatient facility makes me think, if anywhere like that ever took a bed away from a patient for a day, let alone 7 months, it would hands down be considered abuse. Just saying.

I watched Ruby’s ig stories last night when Kevin and her were justifying their crappy parenting. She said a lot of the hate they were getting was from kids. I’m a mom in my early forties and mormon. Kevin and Ruby, I think you are horrible shitty parents. Kevin you said you have been working with licensed therapists since the kids were little. Um if their behaviors haven’t changed by now, you have the wrong therapists or the wrong person in therapy. Look at your narcissistic wife. She is the reason for this. She plays the victim all the time. Maybe look to get some treatment for her. It might do the family some good if she left for a while. If you don’t see that you are just as toxic as she is.

Exactly. I'm in my thirties and work as a college lecturer. I've been working with kids and young adults for almost twelve years now. I have seen what a difference parental input has on my students, and am saying that Ruby's parenting is neglectful and emotionally abusive at times.

I wonder what CPS would even be able to do? It's a sad situation.. those kids deserve so much better... like 90% of the kids on YT deserve so much better... then I think of what about the families we don't see on camera?

Whilst her treatment of the children does qualify as abusive, it isn't to the extent that social services would intervene.

I think if I was in Chad's situation I'd feel like I didn't really have anything to lose and I might as well behave badly.

If it's not bad enough that CPS should intervene, what would qualify then?? I'm honestly curious, because from what we've seen time and time again, this isn't the first time that these poor kids are being neglected and/or emotionally abused by their parents. I looked at that link that someone shared about child abuse, and yep, if you go down to the emotional abuse and/or the neglect parts of the article and read the list that are under each of them for examples of emotional abuse/neglect, most of these examples HAS already happened to these poor kids.

And yes, agreed that the army will probably be much more emotionally fulfilling than being in that household. No joke. At least in the army Chad will be given the opportunity to stand up for himself and others around him lol, he can't even do that now without the threat of a bed being taken away from him.

Generally only if there was a risk to life or if it was really extreme. If the kids had bruises all over them it'd still be difficult. I work in education with several kids under social services, and have family members who have worked directly in social services. Sadly if the house is clean and the kids don't have ribs sticking out, they are unlikely to do anything.

I contacted the Acne sponsorship. Ruby made Chad do that sponsorship yet she lets him sleep on the floor for months. She’s using her children as a cash cow. I hope all her sponsorships reconsider sponsoring Ruby.

I’m really concerned about Chads mental well-being. It just occurred to me that his birthday wasn’t marked on the vlogs and given how desperate they are for content it is obvious he was not allowed celebrate it as it must have been deemed a ‘privilege’. I honestly don’t understand how Ruby thinks taking everything from the boy with know sign o return in the future will motivate him to improve in anyway. If I were I. His shoes I would feel so hopeless. It’s put to him like his life is over and already ruined despite him barely turning 15. There is little to know talk of college for him which leads me to believe at this stage that he has been deemed incapable of this. That boy will have absolutely know sense of self belief or confidence by the time he gets out of that house. Why would you ever lead your child to believe that he is truly bad?

I also think it’s ironic that the main reason for Chads bed removal was him displaying cruel tendencies and not showing remorse for these actions yet as he outlined his punishment his mother is sneering with glee. He is replicating actions that he has witnessed his mother do for 15 years and yet is seen as evil for it?

And I wondered if the church would encourage such punishments. Like be good for momma or she will stop loving you and caring for your basic needs.

I see she received a lot of negative feedback. That’s probably why she deleted the video (or maybe YT did because of it being reported) and disabled comments on her IG and Kevin’s.

Shari’s was still open. And she got a lot of “get out of that house” and “save Chad” and that she should do something for her siblings.

I wonder if this will put an end to her stupid parenting book and the podcast and all the monologues about how she’s a victim mom and how to parent.

They never acknowledge anything 'political' because they know it would be controversial. Ruby's mom and brother seem to support Trump, Kevin calls everyone a "snowflake" and "victim", they're all clearly Republicans...and Ruby refuses to even look at the news! Take from that what you will. I would say they are the true snowflakes because they can't handle any sort of scrutiny.

Not watching the news for 15 years is not something to be proud of, it’s embarrassing. We all have days where we need to turn off the news for the sake of our mental health but to choose to be so blissfully ignorant is not cute. Her post is so full of white privilege but she is so unaware and uninformed that she doesn’t even realize it.
