I really hope Chad isn't getting crap from Ruby at home about what he said in the video. For sure Ruby and Kevin will blame him for all the negative comments and videos about them.

I don't think it's necessarily free speech because YT is a private platform.Boymomma123 wrote:YouTube content would fall under free speech I guess they could claim slander or libel and threaten legal action. That seems like a stretch to me though. People are making videos dissecting the actions in the videos ruby willingly posts to yt. They are simply discussing the content available on a public platform. Ruby will do anything she can to control the narrative though. Got to keep her gravy train rolling.imoverit wrote:I find the It’s R Life response interesting... assuming it’s true, what power does a lawyer have to tell someone they can’t make a video on the topic of family vloggers using their platform inappropriately at all, even if she didn’t say Ruby’s name? But they have a "fair use" policy for reaction videos and the like. Gardner Quad Squad tried to go after Lame Goth Mom for copyright infringement and she was protected under their fair use policy.
It would be pretty hard to prove slander. Libel is for written content.
She would have a hard time proving slander because people are using her own videos as evidence of her emotional abuse. But that probably doesn't stop her from having her lawyer send out cease and desist letters.

I hadn't heard of that vlog until it was mentioned here, but I watched their IG story. For anyone who missed it, they basically got a letter, via their own manager, from Ruby and Kevin's lawyer "threatening" them with some kind of legal consequences if they spoke any further about 8 Passengers.
Personally, I don't agree with some of the more speculative things I see posted on here occasionally, and I find the more immature videos posted in the last few days about Ruby on YT, IG, et cetera to be detracting from those, like most of us here, who have legitimate concerns about Ruby as a parent and the effect she and the vlog are having on her kids.
Yes, we don't see everything that goes on off camera, and they don't need to talk about or vlog every little moment either, but that means we can only form our opinions based on what they post (and presumably don't have a problem with the public seeing). People are obviously allowed to make comments and give their own opinion about the content of videos that Ruby and kevin publicly post on the internet with the knowledge of their large viewership.
Short of someone doing outright slander/libel, I don't know what the legal remedy is against people essentially saying why they disagree with your parenting methods or giving their opinion on the kids' behavior based on videos that you yourself post publicly for hundreds of thousands to see.

Wow some now are saying it will be her fault all family vloggers are cancelled! What irony if that happened! Ruby do did it! lol

I'm honestly wondering how the narcissistic Griffith clan is doing with barely any positive attention on them.sheltiefan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 6:10 am Where did you all hear about Ruby's lawyer? If cancelled, it's a good think she'll have her life coaching to fall back on, lol. She'll forever be looking at cause and effect, and what brought them down, and how she should feel about it.

Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
I'm assuming they have been advised to lie lie for a while until things blow over a bit, and then perhaps release a weepy video talking about how awful it's been to deal with all the nasty people picking on them.
I doubt CPS would come to anything, as it would be easy enough to screw Chad's doors back on, brief the kids to behave, and delete any videos with dodgy behaviour evidence.
I slightly worry if they stop vlogging, purely because at least if they are then their behaviour is partially under scrutiny. If they disappear then there's unlikely to be anyone watching out for those kids.

Since they (mostly Ruby) ultimately decide what is and what is not posted in the videos, it would be strange if Ruby goes so far as to blame Chad for telling. After all, she could have taken it out. But admittedly and on the basis of other videos where she blames children for things she had in her own hands, I wouldn't be surprised if Chad has to pay the price for all the commotion now.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
She will definitely blame him for ruining her channel she said to him after Anasz that he had ruined all their vacations or sth the like!
The issue she has is fine lady you take away everything from the kids electronics games friends beds everything at least provide an outlet! Get off your rear and sign them up to activities football, dancing, swimming etc! Then get it together and drive them to their sessions! They can’t just exist they are growing minds they need some form of stimulation!
And seriously stop abusing the word entitlement nothing wrong with feeling special now and then!!!!
I’m also surprised all these videos calling her out but not one mention that Chad said in that video he was forced to wake at 5 and stare at the safe in which his electronics were locked and think about his actions! That is just sadistic!

Wait. 5 am to stare at a safe with his electronics in it????? I missed this one. What in the world!!!
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Ruby could write a manual on how to guarantee your children murder you while you’re sleeping. Waking up your child at 5am to stare at a safe of their confiscated items in so fucked up and abusive. This is the kind of stuff you hear about when you hear those stories on how a teenager snapped and murdered their parents.

One look at Julie's room and CPS might wonder why she only has a mattress on the floor and nothing else but a bird cage in that room. I want to know why they have to have nothing. they would look at Chad's books and wonder where his bookcase is, and why he has a twin mattress on a full bed frame. Ruby would probably use the excuse that they just moved into a new house.
I was watching videos from the last few weeks and saw Julie and Ruby talking sitting next to a wooden bed frame... who's bed is that?

Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
I agree that CPS could be pretty easily appeased given that the family does have plenty of money, food in the house, each kid does have a bed and clothes so their basic needs are met. The kids act for a living afterall. I wonder how much Ruby will pay them to say certain things or not say them.Alycat_2001_uk wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 11:10 am I'm assuming they have been advised to lie lie for a while until things blow over a bit, and then perhaps release a weepy video talking about how awful it's been to deal with all the nasty people picking on them.

But whether or not this is something CPS would normally investigate, I'm pretty sure they've gotten hundreds of calls about the Frankes since that video. So I imagine they are looking into the situation, even if it amounts to nothing.
I do wonder if they will turn it into click bait... "Investigated by CPS!" and then go on self righteously about how actually they got a glowing review and CPS thinks more parents should be like them, etc etc
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
I'm not an expert, but I'd be surprised if CPS would do anything about Julie's extremely minimalistic bedroom or Chad's twin mattress on a full bedframe and lack of bookcase. They might find them odd, but in their eyes it's doubtful they see those things as signs of child neglect, nor do I think they'd put much pressure on Ruby and Kevin to explain.callie73 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 3:44 pm One look at Julie's room and CPS might wonder why she only has a mattress on the floor and nothing else but a bird cage in that room. Perhaps an unusual/unpopular opinion here but I actually think that very few of the things viewers and other YouTubers are pointing out constitute abuse in the eyes of CPS. Even Eve's lunch thing. Even maybe the beanbag bed thing. I wish that CPS, YouTube, or the powers that be in whomever might be monitoring this family would recognise that the abuses these children are suffering stem so much from the emotional manipulation, the continual exposure of their private lives to strangers, the violation of their right to privacy in general, and the way in which their behaviour, their struggles, and their suffering are being used as income for their parents. I don't support Ruby's decision to let Eve "starve" for a day at school. I don't like the idea that Chad had to sleep on a beanbag for months, but what I really don't like is watching Julie squirm when her mother talks about her armpit hair, when Even is forced in front of a camera to talk to Dr. Ruby about being a better person and loving herself more or whatever, and when Russell's nighttime pull-ups are being shown off while he looks on humiliated. That's what really needs fixing. A kid will survive one day without a lunch and several months on a beanbag. Is it awful? Yes. But there is just stuff that is so much worse going on here.

Yes. And the electronics being taken away. There were multiple generations who grew up without electronics!natalka81 wrote:Perhaps an unusual/unpopular opinion here but I actually think that very few of the things viewers and other YouTubers are pointing out constitute abuse in the eyes of CPS. The manipulation, exploitation, telling the kids that they are bad people (in so many words) gaslighting, telling them how they feel instead of asking, and the lack of validation of their feelings are worse. I think some of the reasons Chad liked Anasazi were that he didn't have a camera in his face, he received positive reinforcement when he did well, and most importantly, the rules were consistent. Ruby is always changing things. She'll say one thing, then do another. Case in point, the stuff she put on the stairs. In the past, she threw away anything she found, including homework. Now she's putting it on the stairs? For how long?
I think it's pretty awful that she didn't realize that Eve hadn't grown, and instead of talking to the doctor about it, she just decided on her own to make Eve eat eggs and cream. And I wish I knew the real story about Russell's femur and Julie's flat head...

I totally agree with every word her manipulative manner is the abuse! Feeding them their emotions and breaking them down constantly on camera!!!!natalka81 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 8:49 pm Perhaps an unusual/unpopular opinion here but I actually think that very few of the things viewers and other YouTubers are pointing out constitute abuse in the eyes of CPS. My daughter (that we adopted domestically as an infant) reminds me a lot of Chad. She has ALWAYS been a boat-load of work and she's the reason I stopped with three kids. Many of her behaviors of Chad's seem similar. There are a lot of anger issues. She's always trying to push our comfort zones, and pushes boundaries over and over and over again. You can take her on vacation and tell her we are doing A, B and C activities. But she's never satisfied and always will push our boundaries to do what she wants. Maybe the plan is going to beach A. But she will want Beach B so badly that she will be in a foul mood the entire time and her anger just ruins the day's excursion. So I get it where Ruby says that he ruins vacations. Because my daughter does the same thing. My daughter will completely loose it over a simple request like being asked to walk a shopping cart in a parking lot thirty feet back to the corral. She just really reacts in extreme ways to every day type of things and its completely exhausting. She is also not very motivated with schoolwork and I know Ruby has had serious concerns about this with her son as well.Parktown wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 12:48 pm She will definitely blame him for ruining her channel she said to him after Anasz that he had ruined all their vacations or sth the like!

More similarities to Chad. She is physically very mature for her age, but yet is very immature. Her immaturity really causes issues at time. She is extremely impulsive. I guess I do see that impulsivity in Chad and that causes him to get into trouble a lot. The only thing that I've found that helps manage my daughters outbursts, and extreme behaviors is by putting her into sports that literally wear her out. She goes to a sport 5 hours a week now where she's doing cardio the entire time. Wearing her out physically does really help and she's much easier to handle when she's physically worn out. At times I've wondered if it was ADHD or a touch of bipolar or whatnot. I've never been able to pinpoint it. I've never in my life seen someone who wants control more than Ruby. And at the root of it Chad has a lot of control issues as well. So they have a double wammy of control issues in that household.
