I have been going through old vlogs and came across the one where Ruby admits she neglected Julie as a baby. She "stunk" of pee and was wining from neglect, so Ruby bathed her and put her in a new dress. Ruby said a new outfit "makes her feel like she is at least trying to be a good mom". It comes across worse than I remember. Saved @ 8:09.

Wow, I remember this video actually. Ruby also tells Shari while she's unloading the grocery cart for her to get working and that she has to earn her haircut as she snaps at her . Giving your kids haircuts is not "serving" them Ruby. And wow, Ruby literally says Julie was "being neglected" because she was paying attention to the new baby (Russell) instead of her toddler. Yeah paying so much attention to him that he rolled off the couch and broke his femur. Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
An old vacation vlog game up in my recommendations recently. In it the family was flying to Disney World or something, and Eve had to go to the bathroom as the plane was landing. Like crying and borderline screaming in pain from needing to pee. Kevin just unsympathetically says "she didn't have to go 15 minutes ago" and sits back and does nothing while Ruby cranes around in her seat to film Eve crying (Eve was sitting with Shari because I guess watching a toddler on the plane while the parents relax in their own row is her responsibility for some reason). After the plane lands Eve gets herself out of the seat and takes off for the bathroom. By the time Ruby gets there, multiple flight attendants are already there dealing with it. You can tell Ruby intends to stand there filming while they take care of it, but one of the flight attendants offers to hold the camera as a more polite way of saying "take care of your damn kid". Then they cut to a little bit later to say they didn't make it and Eve peed her pants. Then instead of comforting her and/or taking her ASAP to change her clothes, they shove the camera in her face to film her crying. Cut again and Ruby and Kevin are standing around on the plane talking about the situation and doing absolutely nothing to help Eve change. In the background you can hear Eve crying while someone else (Shari probably?) changes her.imoverit wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 9:49 amWow, I remember this video actually. DANG. I watched it ("5:30 am kids surprise vacation") and you can tell that flight attendant was seriously pissed at Ruby. Kevin is his usual idiot self thinking a 4 year old should be able to plan out when she has to pee better. And this is in a sponsored video!!!! Like the whole video is a sponsorship! How is a company okay with this nonsense being shown alongside their name being represented? It seems like Ruby sees her kids as only there to ruin things when they go on vacation, that's why she and Kevin try to escape them so often to go off on their own!nesland300 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 10:13 amAn old vacation vlog game up in my recommendations recently. Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
Saw Ruby's Instagram story. I couldn't read most of the letter, but what struck me most was that Kevin has been gone every summer for the past 12 years? I get that he's a professor and they travel a lot, but is that really normal? For research, don't they have to get approved for sabbatical? And for conferences wouldn't they not be necessary to attend unless he's invited to speak? I don't know, I feel like probably a lot of the travel he does isn't required, but he's able to do it since they have so much money. I hate to say it because I'm sure Ruby takes it out on her kids every time Kevin leaves, but I can kind of feel for her. I could not imagine my husband/boyfriend being gone every single summer, especially if we had six kids.
Also, in Bonnie's vlog - they are such cheapskates! Let those girls order whatever they want from the menu. I'm guessing they felt they had to share because the plates there are a bit pricey, but it's a special little treat for them and Bonnie has millions of dollars from Yotube. Even if I didn't have a lot of money, if I had my daughters and cousins out for a special day I'd tell them to order whatever they want from the menu, just give them one day where they aren't worrying about saving money and being frugal.
Last note - why has Shari stopped posting on Youtube? I thought once 8 Passengers started posting again, that she would start up, too, but no video from her for the past two weeks. Not a fan of Shari or her videos, but I'd hate if her Youtube career was ruined because of Ruby.

I'm sure research is expected of Kevin during the summer when he isn't teaching, and I believe his specialty is in earthquakes. It's probably fair to assume that requires quite a bit of travel during summers.

When that vlog was filmed, family channels were getting much less scrutiny than they do now. I think we're going to start seeing a low fewer sponsorships on these channels now. People have already pointed out a lot of sponsored videos that Ruby has taken down.imoverit wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 9:49 am DANG. Sort of a random thought, but I know Cullen and Katie have mentioned that they usually get paid for brand deals a month or so after doing them. I wonder what was the nature of the contract that Ruby had with ABC Mouse and Cerave, which were the recent sponsored posts/videos she had to take down when bed-gate happened, and whether they still had to pay her or if they were able to cancel it. I really truly hope she can never get another sponsorship ever again.nesland300 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 11:29 amWhen that vlog was filmed, family channels were getting much less scrutiny than they do now. but I CAN imagine if I was married to Ruby I would find any yes any opportunity to travel!rulatows000 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 10:30 am Saw Ruby's Instagram story. Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
True, especially in his field where travelling is required alot. Kevin wouldn't be where he is today without the sacrifice, focus and dedication. Had he listened to Ruby then he would've been in the same situation as Landon and the other Griffith husbands, though with 6 kids to take care of.nesland300 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 11:01 am I'm sure research is expected of Kevin during the summer when he isn't teaching, and I believe his specialty is in earthquakes. I wonder what Landons is up to by the way?
But I also think Kevin sometimes takes advantage of being away from Ruby and home with his family.
I really wonder what it's like living with Ruby in real life, can't be easy.

Thanks for the info! I do not want to give them any views. I wish a bunch more people would unsubscribe too.eloise92 wrote:I have watched them but on invideous. I assume that it's them being sickly sweet fake cutesy family as though they aren't being so abusive?
The videos feel very staged, Ruby isn't on camera and for the 'end of school' one everything is filmed in the kitchen/ open-plan downstairs area. Like a set.

Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
Gosh Ruby is really in damage control mode isn't she? I guess their youtube manager has told her to keep a low profile and hope it all blows over. In the meantime, better make sure to film examples of Kevin being an 'active parent' (I'm inclined to think that the only thing Kevin wants to actively involved with is checking out other dudes at the gym), and get plenty of footage of the kids eating treats and having So.Much.Fun.
I think the worst part of all of this for me, aside from the ongoing exploitation of the kids, was Ruby's tone-deaf rant in the car where she called everyone triggered and then proceeded to gaslight the fuck out of every single person watching. I thought that clip, more than anything else I have seen, showed more about who Ruby actually is: an angry, narcissistic, gas-lighting, patronizing control freak.

Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
One really sad thing about the way these kids are filmed when they are upset instead of comforted, and have their potty training accidents and acne and shopping for bras on the internet is that since they aren't really allowed to have friends, or if they are, they are other vlogging families, they don't see how "normal" families function. (Sorry for the run-on sentence!) That normalizes the dysfunction. Talk about gaslighting!

My middle 2 share food sometimes because they rarely finish a large portion at once alone and hate leftovers.
Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
What Kevin really needs to do is just eat healthier foods, they have the means. I agree with you that no one should ever have to take that amount of supplements. It's not safe doing that especially knowing he has a heart problem.Parktown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 7:15 pm How much more cringe can this situation get? She puts up on her insta a personal letter from Kevin in which he is overcompensating apologizing for leaving her once again for a trip.
She obviously wasn’t happy and he mentions their relationship has changed blah blah blah....
but the ending how cringe!
Basically how lucky we all are (the whole world) to know the glory that is Ruby!!!!!
And why do I get the eerie feeling that Chad has taken over vlogging because he feels bad about what happened! Also it’s like she tossed a camera at everyone and said “Fine you all go pay for the fancy house, school, vacations!”
Also side note Kevin that amount of supplements will kill your liver and not because of the ingredients inside just the formation of the capsules themselves!!!! Be smart man!!!!! Those are man made!!!!
Ruby wouldn't feel alone if she had a life of her own. Its not like she does more for the kids/household when Kevin is away. They kids mostly care for themselves with some help from Shari. Ruby needs some hobby and outside activity with other adults.
Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
I don't think it's the same with these people. They have control issues with food and tend to be cheap with their kids.
I remember Ruby claiming that the girls liked to share beds and Shari loved to sleep with Eve. Viewers didn't buy it and as soon as Ruby asked the girls, they said that they actually didn't like sharing. They Griffiths enjoy making it uncomfortable and awkward for their children.

Because what teenager wouldn't love to sleep in a bed with a toddler who wets the bed and wakes her up at night?Namm wrote:I don't think it's the same with these people. They have control issues with food and tend to be cheap with their kids.

Like Ruby cares. In this family children's feelings don't matter. They have kids as chore machines/money makers/tickets to Mormon heaven (cough cough prop up numbers for a dying church). They only really become people after they get kicked out as soon as legally possible to make a life for themselves.

She is too busy rehabilitating her channel, spending, writing a parenting book and becoming a life coach to have a hobby.
