I know Jess probably wanted her built in sitters and I know that generations living together is becoming more and more common (I have seen more in law suite floor plans than I think I ever have). But I wonder if Jess just wouldn't be able to afford it had she not moved in. And you know those kids are going to not respect Mimi & Poppys suite. I know Cali is expensive but with their Modesto house selling and them both working they probably could have built a small house for them.

I wondered if maybe there's a financial thing on mimi and glen's end (eg health condition) that jess is helping them out with. But it could just be that they helped raise jess's kids a LOT before she married chris and they (or at least mimi) feel they are more of a parenting team vs a mom and grandparents.

while the inside of the house looks nice, you can tell it’s not good quality and there wasn’t muc attention or care to detail. and i think carpet is so tacky and dirty. they should have kept that wood flooring throughout. carpet looks super dated and those kids spill shit constantly. idk carpet is not my taste at all and neither are the “popcorn” walls lol idk what to call them but they’re ugly. you can tell that house was built as fast as possible and i’m sure lots of the measurements were probably off. you could tell at one point when she showed a door

I just saw her Instagram photo of all of them in front of the new house and I had to check - I thought it was the old house. It looks exactly the same - super ugly.

Also I saw she said Mimi is buying a small house in the old neighbourhood but will 'live with' them on weekends and holidays. What is this craziness?

So if they moved for family why would Mimi stay behind. Even if it was for the job I'm sure they could keep the old house, live there until she found a job or something.

And isn't her brother moving to where Jess lives? Wasn't that the whole plan for them to live close. So does that leave a bedroom or they will still have their suite?

After seeing the comment where jess said it was permanent but not it makes me wonder if Poppy decided not to? Elk Grove is being built up so a teaching job shouldn't be that hard to find. They didn't think about this BEFORE agreeing to it & selling their home? Just seems odd after living there they decided to buy a home anyway. Jess said weekends, holidays and summer. So leaving a home for an entire summer? I know she camps a lot to so most of that will probably be in the rv. So much for helping grammy and even Ben moving there.

This doesn't make any sense to me. If she never plans to fully move up there there's no point in her having the suite for weekends and summer.

If Ben starts a family I think Jess will be super jealous. Not that Mimi would treat the grandkids different but that it wouldn't be all about her and them.

I think Shari already has with all her protein shakes, protein bars and her plain chicken for lunch. That's not balanced. I doubt she's getting all the nutrients she needs granted she's still growing.

Mimi is getting older, im not sure she’d be classed as a “catch” for any teaching positions. Her judgement is flawed, shes a bit eccentric and weird. Especially when you consider what her daughter has all over the internet, shes not exactly sending out flags for “good teacher”.

She has probably been trying to get a new position and hadnt been successful, hence the “small house” and coming “home” for the weekends & holidays.

yes,she's prob. close to the point where she can retire if she wants.I know in my state,teachers can get full retirement after 20 yrs.Idk about Cali,though

I guess they didn't anticipate Mimi struggling to find a job, but what a shitshow of a situation. If they'd bought a place with a bit of land Mimi could have parked her RV there in weekends instead of taking up multiple rooms. Don't they travel most weekends and holidays anyway?
