Which is why I said masks alone aren’t the cure. But saying they don’t help at all when studies show they have some impact, even just a little is wrong.Haulnarse wrote:New Zealand’s cases are just residents returning home from other countries. We have zero room to talk when we have such high numbers like Victoria currently has.
Hell, even New Zealand who thought they had it beat has stumbled because people don’t listen to what they’re damn told.
Cloth face masks alone aren’t the cure and even hinting they don’t work is irresponsible.
No community transmission at all.
We didn’t push the general public to wear face masks - there really isn’t enough research into wearing fabric masks - are people washing them between uses? or do they hang on the rearview mirror like jess appeared to do? are family members sharing masks? people get more handsy and touch their faces and masks when wearing them, adjusting them, etc. instead we pushed personal hygiene, regular and proper hand washing, hand sanitiser, not touching your face and stay the fuck home!
That said, were those people not quarantined for 2 weeks before being allowed home? I thought everyone entering the country had to do a mandatory 14 days whether they were a resident or not.
