Something just doesn’t seem right about this whole move thing. First of all what is the big rush? Seems like they want to build another ice palace which means waiting a long time for it to be built which means WASTING thousands of dollars on renting a house whilst waiting for it to be built! Why do that when they could’ve waited in the house they already have?
From what Ellie was saying about how far Julie would live from them I figured out they for sure are moving to St George (which I already guessed a while ago). I checked the weather there for this week. Over 100 degrees every day! I’m sorry but that’s ridiculously too hot for anyone to be outside for any length of time. Especially young kids. Even with a pool the sun is still way too intense.
Whatever is making Ellie sick or depressed is still going to make her feel that way no matter where she lives. I would think that being far away from her family and supposed “best friend” Bonnie is going to make her feel more depressed. Trust me an 11 hr or more round trip drive to visit someone isn’t going to happen very often especially with young kids who need to use the restroom all the time.
People keep saying they aren’t making a lot of money anymore but they must be if they can throw thousands of dollars away on a rental and have another new house built. I can’t wait to see how this all pans out.

I thought the move, selling their house in the still great house market and the renting to figure out where to live a good idea (aka J house).

But moving somewhere new and building another custom house right away doesn‘t feel like a wise move. Renting for 12 months, figuring out if the area is it for next years and then building would have been a wise choice

The folks that bought the property apparently didn't investigate all the extra costs. Someone asked on IG about the property. Ellie posted it cost $90,000 just to put water on it. Plus it would need a road, a house, etc. It's an investment property with no plans for it right now.

Did she say their fridge went out? As in broke/stopped working? Isn’t it only as old as the house (so less than 5 years.) How did it break already?

Or am I crazy and this is normal life expectancy for a fridge?

No. It’s supposedly a long term investment for all of them.

There are better ways to invest money than a huge parcel of property that is hard to sell and expensive to develop on.

Her issue with her weight is always that she wants to lose weight. Even if she says she wants to gain, it’s typically when her weight is up. To me it seems like she has gained weight because she is “happy” so she is eating.

Ultimately I can’t complain about how someone else chooses to pack their house.

From what I took away from the vlog is that Jared is not comfortable with what they are doing and Ellie is exceptionally happy looking for a rental and moving towards the heat.

I don't have a problem with how she chooses to pack. I do think after the way she pushed for the move, and is gleefully uprooting everyone else, that whining about how "moving sucks" is just gratuitous complaining on her part.

I don’t know what the problem is with Jared’s hip, but as an Old Person myself (probably old enough to everybody here’s mother) I do know that long term he will fare better in warmer weather. It is an actual thing; my husband can tell whether storms are approaching by the aches and pains in his joints. There was a video fairly recently called something like One Last Try and it was about Jared trying to put off more surgery for as long as possible.

So going forward, maybe the move is as much for Jared as it is for Ellie. Well, maybe not QUITE as much but it can’t hurt. But then - presumably he’ll have to have surgery at some point in the fairly near future which makes the move even crazier. Being so far from their support network, Ellie will essentially be a single mom while Jared recovers. It’s all so...odd.

Also, I wish I was much, much younger. I can find my way around an iPad but I wouldn’t know where to start with the sleuthing; you guys are something else! Is anyone allowed to throw me a bone??

Ellie is running away from people that are onto her game and moving to a new town with new people she can snow. I know the type. They tell so many untruths and exaggerations that eventually you can see through their BS. The trouble with this is that Ellie makes YT videos, so all her inconsistencies are there for anyone new to see. She can’t just move and have a blank slate like someone who doesn’t live a public life can.

But she definitely seems like she’s running away from something instead of just running to warmer weather.

I’m wondering if she’s going to be doing gender selection at the IVF clinic there. That’s certainly something I could see her getting excited about! It wound definitely come before a new hip for Jared too!

To be fair, this was filmed weeks ago, so it may have been chilly that day. Even in Bonnie’s vlog posted today, she was saying how cold it was, and she’s only a week or so behind. The temperature can fluctuate wildly at times.

Omg packing all the kids books away for 9+ months??? My kids would be devastated lol - also its hilarious that they paid a deposit before knowing how long they were going to be there....is that common? We've moved our fair share and always sign and pay at once

Interested to see if Ellie is going to still try her rock stairs on their flat as a pancake backyard lol - funny how she's so productive, motivated and pain free

When you’ve just had a cold winter high 60s seems absolutely balmy.

This just shows she’s still going to be cold in the Southern Utah winter where temps can get as low as 31 and the average winter high is 62.
