Here’s why I don’t think Ellie is pregnant. If she was pregnant, I doubt they would be moving. This move is giving her something to do. It’s keeping her happy. If she was pregnant, she wouldn’t need the move.

Good point! The only thing that makes no sense though is that she’s still TTC! Going to all the trouble to move when you could get pregnant the next month seems insanely juvenile, selfish and ignorant to me.

It’s asking your family to give up an awful lot just to entertain your every whim.

I personally don’t care if she is pregnant nor give two figs what she eats or what she looks like! These points are totally indifferent to me! For me it is really disturbing how she yields her health as a weapon and if one doesn’t abide by her wishes it means they are making her sick! That there for me is most disturbing!!!! There is nothing more manipulative than making the other person (more so child) feel like they possibly could be contributing to you health issues!

Does st. George have a strong mormon community? I'm wondering if she's running away from the church or trying to separate Jared and the boys from things she has come to not agree with anymore?
Maybe I'm giving her too much credit, I mean it is Ellie bit I can't remember the last time she actually mentioned going to church.

Yep. Besides, I don't think anyone here can even jokingly imagine Ellie piling 3 little boys up into a car and driving 5-6 hours one way for a visit with the cousins. No way, no how. Ellie for sure wants to get far away from something in Logan and I really doubt it is the climate she has lived in for, what now, 30 years? I don't see her doing much traveling for visits until Jared packs up Ellie + 3 kids and trundles them all off to see their families.

I also don't see her being too excited even to host visiting relations in a rental. Maybe when Ice Palace 2.0: Unlocked & Reloaded is built and she has finished filling it with (new) things for her family to admire and covet. Keep in mind, she and Jared were the first to bring the family vlogging lifestyle to House Griffiths, and she will always want to lead the pack. This is definitely not intended to be a step down for any sort of long term amount of time.

I do oddly believe that the E+J channel and associated Instagrams may not be their only income. Seems like I had it in my head that Jared had started working in online marketing, potentially employing his dad, years ago. I could almost swear there was something to that. I can't recall the details anymore, it's been a pretty long time, but reading the post where Ellie snaps that it's not their only income made sense to me. I thought Ellie was over vlogging years ago and they didn't want to return to being "just" regular lower middle income people, so it seemed logical that Jared would have started something else a little more behind the scenes while they were still at or only a little past their peak.

I was sure I didn't care about any of these people anymore, lol. Seeing Ruby get called out on a completely unrelated commentary channel kind of made me curious what they are all up to now though.

I'm missing something here, and hoping someone can fill me in.

Do we KNOW where they are moving? Ellie and Jared talked about moving to a warmer climate, but then I see references in this thread to St. George, which is still in Utah ---- and I'm presuming the weather wouldn't be that different. I know I could be wrong.

They talked about where they're going having more restaurants.

I find it weird that they would sell their "dream home" before knowing that their new location (presumably a fair distance from family with which they are enmeshed) is going to fit for them. Why not rent it? And have a place to return to if things don't work out. By getting out of a housing market they say is beginning a boom, they're not going to be able to take advantage of the higher price their home could command 6 months or 2 years down the road ----- especially since bank interest rates are so low as to be laughable .... and also because they won't be gaining any equity in the intervening time.

Her words vehemently so “I can’t wait to get out of here’ can’t just be down to the weather!!!
I think she hated that she had to work on Bollie that Jared had to work on Bollie with Bonnie and Joel! She hated that her in laws were so close by! It was super weird that we hardly ever saw 3 young boys playing with grandparents!
In a vlog where they were eating out Jared’s dad had commented ‘Well it would be nice if we saw you’ to which Ellie immediately responded ‘We are busy’!
I don’t remember the vlog but Tommy was already around.
She had a definite fall out with Bonnie and was done with it all it could be Bonnie was hoping to flip the meth h and build with her but she is over the cling fest and deathly jealous of Jared and sharing him with absolutely anyone!
Also the way she was commenting about Julie is as if Julie was the poor relative and she the rich kind sister!!

There is a huge Mormon population in St George. More than even where they are now. Their numbers keep rising while the numbers in SLC keep declining.

It’s more likely to be a move toward more “like minded” religious neighbours than any sort of attempt to get away from the church itself. Could be an attempt to get away from their church. Remember we had a poster here a few years ago that swore they were from their church and everyone hated Ellie?

I figured with it still be utah that it would have Mormons. There totally is something else to this sudden urgency to move. Everytime Jared is shown it's this huge sense of stress and heart ach. As bad as I would love to live in warmer climate I could never be ok with putting my husband through unnecessary difficult times just because I don't like the cold. Like really?!?!

I really noticed this with Ellie giving her clothes and a comment that something wouldn't fit her. Unfortunately, Julie is not too ambitious (lazy) and nothing would put her sisters in their place then returning to nursing since it is a more respected occupation compared to Ellie rambling on in front of a camera or being a YouTuber. YouTubers were never worth what they've been paid.

They're definitely in a smaller rental right now and definitely bought a lot in St. George but I've wondered if they are renting out their house rather than selling.... wouldn't really make sense though to start building if they didn't sell

It's definitely warmer in St.George than Logan. Utah is a very big state, like a lot of western states. It's in the Mojave Desert. Logan is in the Wasatch Mountains.
They're going to bake this summer.

The new owners have been updated in the parcel map so yes its been sold. The husband looks like he's an accountant and they have several young children from the 1 min search I did. They don't seem to have an heavy internet presence at all.

We’re baking up here in Canada right now so I can imagine.

Jared had a picture of Jackson reading a bedtime story to Tommy because he got out of bed and went to Jackson’s room. Wonder if this is a precursor to just moving him to Jackson’s bed.

Watching Ellie’s stories on IG she is so happy right now and “not sick” literally building new homes heals her. Maybe Jared made the right decision because his life will be more peaceful while they do this. Maybe they will just keep building new homes and moving. Hopefully they have learned not to invest more than than you will get return for.

Ugh. The way she is chirping around so happy, no "eye pain", no headaches, just makes me so angry.
Someone upthread said it perfectly: she holds her family hostage to her perceived health issues. I think she is bored and dissatisfied with her life so she casts around for the next thing that will finally make her happy, and it never does. And while she is looking for the next idea, she somaticizes and takes to her bed with vague symptoms. And posts about them with hashtags. And those poor little boys grow up in a home full of dysfunction.
It's not normal for a 6 year old to have to wake up and read his little brother a story if he wakes up. And instead of taking over and letting Jackson go to sleep, what does Jared do? FILM it. And all the minions coo over how sweet Jackson is and how they raised such a good big brother, instead of saying put down the camera and parent these children you say you wanted so badly. Both of them are failing those boys.
