Maybe I'm just dumb but can someone explain how it's safe to camp at a place that used to be a nuclear power plant? Wouldn't there still be some radiation?

The nuclear power plant was decommissioned in 1989. In theory the lake is safe bcuz the radioactive water was in an inner loop that never touched the water from the lake that cooled things down via the cooling towers. Two separate systems. But the radioactive materials are still stored on that facility because they don’t know what to do with it all.

I was always under the impression you should use about a tablespoon of suncream per limb for an adult. That fine mist she sprayed haphazardly over the kids didn’t really seem like it would be sufficient to me. Maybe your suncream is different to ours in the UK but that certainly wouldn’t protect me for the day.

Also she kept saying landen was taking his shirt off. Why was an adult not enforcing that his shirt HAS to be on. If his own shirt was tight and irritating maybe he could have borrowed one of Cadens so it was looser and wouldn’t have bothered him so much.
It is drakes fault they got sunburnt and it is inexcusable but Jess is not a saint either and all of those kids have burnt on her watch too.

It would be fine to do it with just her family and while I know She's been around Roslyn this whole time I don't think they realize how many families would have to quarantine. Camping is one of the most socially distant things you could probably do right now, most shower houses are closed as well.

It’s the same here regarding applying sunscreen/suncream: it’s basically slathered on. That spray would not protect them and who sprays it on a face?!?! Seems the Messss kids are used to Mess spraying it their fades because they knew to close their eyes. Smh.

She bought good, strong Nutrogena cream and should be using that IMO. I put the same brand on my granddaughters’ faces (and bodies) with my fingers and it may leave cream showing, but it works that way!

There was a study done a few years ago the spray isn't as good. But convenience over actually protecting them. Of course anything is better than nothing but look how much wasn't going on them while it sprayed.

Exactly. Plus, most spray sunscreens says specifically in the directions to spray liberally on the body, then RUB IT IN. Most people skip the part where you're supposed to rub it in. (I haven't watched but does jess rub it in afterwards?) I never get the spray stuff because it's pointless. Half of it misses the body, and you still have to rub it in, so there's no real benefit. Just get regular sunscreen and rub it on. Sure, it's annoying (honestly I hate it) but I still apply, every 2 hours/after towel drying/after 80 minutes of swimming just like the directions on my bottle tell me to.

These women are seriously one dumber than the other. That Roselyn woman kept massaging Landens back quite hard when it clearly looked like the skin was very sensitive and still healing so that would be the last thing you should probably do.. Landen looked so fed up with Jess' questions about his back poor kid..

Camping in and of itself isn’t bad as long as you are actually socially distancing. That means not bringing in 2 extra friend groups, not using things like the playground, or crowded areas like beaches.

We’ve gone camping twice this summer. In past years, we have done things like explore the area, go to shops nearby, pick up groceries after we get there, etc. this summer, we stayed close to our campsite, wore masks anytime we had to be around other people (like checking in, or getting firewood at the camp store). We drove out to remote areas to explore places that were not populated.

But the way the MesssFam camps is by spreading out, inviting everyone you know, touching all sorts of community items, and generally being an annoying mess.
