I completely agree. My daughter is 11 months and I remember when she was that little. The instinct you have to bounce and calm them when they're upset like that. Even if Alex couldn't see her face, baby was pulling back against the carrier, smacking her little head against Alex's chest. Baby was so upset by the shouting and yanking the tube, but Alex was more interested in ranting to the camera than tneding to a baby in obvious distress.IVFwarrior wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 1:19 am Alex always struck me as someone that has a temper and is super mean to her family - but only off camera. But we've seen a bit of it this year. That vile outburst in the car about the hospital visitor policy, and now again with Cassidy. And she yanked the tube out of Cassidy's hand so hard that it was pulling on the tape stuck to her face.
She's such a horrible person. She must have been the worst type of NICU nurse - a know it all, judgemental and rough.

I fucking hate her Watching those stories with Cassidy obviously agitated and upset, while Alex just bland on and on to Instagram - TEND TO YOUR BABY!! Why the hell is she on social media instead of parenting?? All of us are watching it and wishing we had the chance to settle Cassidy for her... she is a shit shit shit mum and she makes me sick.
Also - how many time’s is that baby stuck sleeping somewhere unsafe and uncomfortable? FFS put her to bed!!!

I'm not on a high "hoarse" as you call it. I was actually just black and white calling you out on something that I didn't agree with. So I´m not allowed to say anything without 100% everybody agreeing to it. Get over yourself. If you are going to be calling everybody out then you won´t be doing anything else. If you are so sensitive about something I say about Alex and Phil you really got a problem and should get some help. You can try to get me blocked from ytmd if it means that much to you.IVFwarrior wrote:I'm not on a high "hoarse" as you call it. Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
I mean, I’ve said before that if Phil and Alex believe so wholeheartedly in God’s plan, then maybe God has been telling them they shouldn’t be biological parents. All the failed transfers and now with Cassidy’s medical problems, maybe this is a sign from God that they don’t need 19 Kids and Counting. They keep moving the goal post and then calling it a miracle when changes THEY made garnered results after their prayers going unanswered. A true miracle would’ve been God answering their numerous prayers with a bio kid with no medical intervention.
But I say that as an atheist who believes fully in science. And who thinks having bio kids or adopted kids or no kids is all perfectly acceptable. If you love your kids and take good care of them, I don’t care how they came to be. People can be shitty parents regardless of where the kids came from or how hard they tried to get there.
I’m hoping the poster above was trying to convey the same P&A-specific message.
Because they are shitty, neglectful parents who care more about a good night’s sleep and the clout of hanging out with baby-collectors than caring for the medically fragile “miracle” that science gave them and science will keep alive.

It's so they don't loose suck reflex. I had a friend's baby who was tube fed as a newborn and never took a pacifier. And then never took a bottle, which lead to him not wanting to take anything orally. He ended up with feeding issues till he was 5 years old. They had to insert a GTube and lots of feeding therapy to finally get him eating. He's going to be 11 and is still really tiny with lots of food aversions.boredonthekeyboard wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 12:36 pm Can someone explain the pacifier to me? If sucking is “making her run a marathon,” why is she wasting energy on a pacifier where she is getting no calories in return?
Does this child ever do anything? Tummy time? Play with a toy she can smack/kick? She is always just plopped down somewhere with that stupid pacifier in her mouth.
She's just a prop for them it seems. A goes on and on about "nursing" and bonding, but can't seem to figure out that the bonding comes from feeding your child. Not how you feed your child. Like the IG post she had the pump going but unicorn was laying flat on her back on the couch next to Alex.

Thank you for explaining this. I too wondered, glad there is a medical reason and not to just shut the baby up.DarthMama wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:07 amIt's so they don't loose suck reflex. My oldest had an NG tube the first week of life in the NICU. They were given a pacifier right away. Luckily they were fine with the pacifier, and had no issues when a bottle was introduced.Dani_465 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:27 amThank you for explaining this. I understand all that, but those of us who have been through the heartache of infertility, miscarriage and assisted reproduction are quite sensitive about this. Most of us have been told “just adopt”, “maybe you need to accept you aren’t meant to have children”, “everything happens for a reason”, “the world is overpopulated enough” etc etc.blehhh wrote:Thank you.PinkMoscato wrote:I mean, I’ve said before that if Phil and Alex believe so wholeheartedly in God’s plan, then maybe God has been telling them they shouldn’t be biological parents. If someone loses a baby to SIDS, no one would dream of telling them it’s God’s way of saying they shouldn’t have children.
I get that you were being ironic because of P&A’s religious beliefs.
Doesn’t mean your comment didn’t stab me in the heart.
The fact is that Alex is a shit mother. She is obsessed with pregnancy and breastfeeding and looking like a crunchy earthy mother but doesn’t want to make any compromises to her comforts. I hope she stops at 1 biobaby and doesn’t try to implant any more faulty embryos. As we know, it’s nothing to do with God’s will. In my line of work, I’ve seen far more hideous parenting by women who spawn children all over the place with ease.

I ONLY said this about Alex and Phil. If you can not handle that, seek help instead of going after me. I have been insulted again and again, gotten rotten messages and belittled for my lack of english here on ytmd but I have not been crying about it. Just scroll on and block me or report me.

Anyway, back to talking crap about P&A instead of each other. I'm still scared from Alex's yelling about Cassidy pulling her tube out. I had a pretty harsh, mean mother (even though I know she loved me) and Alex's rant brought back some PTSD. And that's just what she POSTED for the whole world to see. Imagine how she talks to people off of the gram.
Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
Scary thing is they seem to be planning more transfers. She made the comment at her postnatal checkup about how she "would be seeing that room for a little bit."Elliecat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:56 amI understand all that, but those of us who have been through the heartache of infertility, miscarriage and assisted reproduction are quite sensitive about this. Watch Cassidy grow up and have an insecure attachment style. Between Alex's never-ending temper tantrums when things don't go her way, the isolation their daughters all live under with the religious fundamentalist homeschooling, and Phil's obvious inability to check his wife, all three girls are going to have emotional issues someday. I feel bad for Kinsley and Callie, but at least they have each other, whereas Cassidy is so obviously set apart from her siblings that she's going to wind up terrified of forming emotional ties with others.ifeellikebeingabitch wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 12:49 pm Anyway, back to talking crap about P&A instead of each other. Is Alex trying to cripple her kids' emotional health for life on top of their physical?

So she took her in for a laser treatment for lip, tongue, AND cheek ties??
Honestly this nut job just seems to be looking for things wrong with her daughter... I find it hard to believe that she would have 3 types of ties that were making it so hard for her to feed and the lactation consultant wouldn’t have caught it...
Also she was SO SURE it was reflux making her not eat. Alex just loves diagnoses for her baby
