Philip’s British accent is giving me a headache. It’s terrible, just stop. I’m begging you.

Lol, it's not the worst I've heard, though I don't know which "British" accent he was attempting. He said tomayto instead of tomahto though.Here_2_talk wrote:Philip’s British accent is giving me a headache. It’s terrible, just stop. I’m begging you.

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
So what is Alex'a narrative going to be when lasering her child's mouth in four places doesn't magically fix her weight gain issues? I still can't believe she won't just accept that her baby needs a high calorie formula. The doctors must be beyond frustrated with this woman. Again, if feeding her breast milk by a feeding tube *still* wasn't doing the trick, I can't imagine what kind of mental gymnastics were needed for Alex to convince herself that it was a anatomical issue with her mouth. The feeding tube would have bypassed all of that. I'm guessing the narrative will switch to, "well, we just didn't catch it in time because of the ignorant, uneducated doctors."
A nurse can obtained additional certification through the The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners in order to become a LC, but so can other people who do not have a nursing degree. A nurse can become a LC, but an LC is not necessarily a nurse.
Several different types of clinicians can snip a frenulum- pediatric dentists, ENTs, neonatologists. The specialist that is often not consulted is a speech pathologists, who can asses oral musculature and range of motion of the tongue, among other things. There are often multiple factors at play when a newborn has trouble feeding. These procedures are being done on an outpatient basis in clinics where the rate of complications and the outcomes are not being communicated or tracked. The rate of frenectomies in the US, Canada and Australia has exploded in the last 20 years. They're usually expensive and not covered by insurance here in the US. They also don't know what's caused by a short frenulum, and what's a muscular control issue that won't be addressed by simply snipping the skin.

Phil is grovelling, trying to placate Alex’s temper maybe? his latest IG post is yet again about how Alex never gave up on BIO BABY, please... what Alex wants Alex gets, she mostly ‘forced’ you to provide your specimen so she could experience pregnancy, I’m sure there’s a name for this....

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
So I’ve never watched them before, or even knew about them until someone had posted a picture of Cassidy and she looked really malnourished and so I checked out this board. When I had my daughter I thought she had a lip tie, because I was having a hard time with breastfeeding. I took her to our pediatrician and they referred me to an Ears, Throat and Mouth doctor, as they call them at our doctors office. Her doctors office is at a hospital where I had both of my babies. I feel like that doctor would be best to diagnose mouth ties. I don’t really know if that’s been discussed but tell me if I’m wrong. (He ended up saying it’s not too bad and recommend that we just leave it alone. A year or so later we went to the dentist and they said she did have a lip tie, but I’m so glad we didn’t have it clipped because I didn’t realize what the babies go through.)

I’ve been lurking for ages, but just needed to join up to say, good lord, this woman is insane. Why on Earth would you put a baby through an extremely painful procedure when she already has a massive surgery coming up and she has a tube to ‘feed her up’ for it? Could she not have had the ties done when she was under anaesthetic for her heart op? I don’t understand! It seems like borderline abuse to put her through this for the sake of a ‘dream’.

Honestly it doesn’t even need to be done period right now. Not even during the procedure. It’s a procedure that has no guarantees. And the sick part about this is she is advertising it like it’s no big deal and something that will fix things. I’m shocked she still had followersLucyLucyAppleJuicy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 9:07 am I’ve been lurking for ages, but just needed to join up to say, good lord, this woman is insane. Does anyone know if her follow count or views have decreased at all?

OMG. Now Alex is saying they got home from the hospital, let her scream in pain for 3 hours before thinking it might be a good idea to give her pain relief. 3 hours. These people should be investigated. This is AWFUL.

I couldn't get through that whole video and frankly had no interest in listening to her, but OMG I can not imagine doing "stretches" multiple times daily that are intended to make my baby's mouth bleed as scar tissue forms. That "recovery" sounded horrible for Cassidy. Crying for three hours straight? All for a surgical procedure that his highly controversial with no guarantees? She absolutely did not do her research and just jumped on this diagnosis in the hopes that it would bring her the magical breastfeeding journey she so craves. And for what? Two days of breastfeeding before Cassidy once again showed no interest in breastfeeding? Considering that it's been about 10 days and she's not breastfeeding consistently, I don't think it was the quick fix that Alex was hoping for. At least she's admitting that the feeding tube was necessary, as her baby continues to struggle to gain weight.JeasicaA71184 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 10:07 amHonestly it doesn’t even need to be done period right now. Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
I just watched the last two vlogs and have such a pit in my stomach. We just recently found out my 1.5 year old has a lip tie. We formula fed. She's healthier than my sister's organic no-sleep-training EBF babies. She's never even had a fever. I just don't understand why Alex is so damn intent on fulfilling her own wishes that she can't take the fall for this one thing and do what's best for Cassidy. Do you hear the coughing that Cassidy does because of her heart condition? I'm sure it gets worse with stress, HOW can you justify all of this for a tie so that you can BF? Alex is so angry and bitchy all the time ever since she was able to conceive. I don't get what changed.

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
So, if Cassidy is breastfeeding more like Alex claims, how is she getting her fortified milk? The doctors already determined that exclusive BF isn’t going to cut it for Cassidy because eating is “a marathon” for her. Does Alex not give a shit if her baby gains weight anymore? It seems like all she cares about is her breastfeeding journey. She makes me physically ill.

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
Prior to the surgery, Alex claimed she was breastfeeding a couple times a day for only 5 to 7 minutes at a time and she was estimating that she was only getting an ounce or two. Still no baby scale? She did claim that she exclusively breastfed her for 2 days after the surgery, but after that Cassidy stopped all together. Definitely doesn't seem advisable for a CHD baby struggling to gain weight. I think she just refuses to relent and let Cassidy drink a high calorie formula, because she's insane. The only update I think she's given now that she's 10 days or so post-frenotomy is that she's still pumping, Cassidy still has her feeding tube, and it's "too soon to tell" so I'm guessing little to no feedings by mouth, or Alex would've been shouting it from the rooftops. Sounds to me like she's shifting the narrative to, "well, Cassidy was going to have problems down the road so it needed to be corrected anyways" and pretending it had nothing to do with breastfeeding.Whatevergirl2 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 2:11 pm So, if Cassidy is breastfeeding more like Alex claims, how is she getting her fortified milk? I’ve been lurking as well but I made an account finally because I just can’t not not say anything anymore. Alex is completely off her rocker. There was absolutely no reason for this poor baby to even have this procedure at this time. She is supposed to be making sure Cassidy is gaining weight for her surgery and doing everything possible to ensure this happens, the whole point of the feeding tube. The most recent Vlog is infuriating! “I just wish I knew the volume” Dumbass you WOULD know the volume if you were using the feeding tube and actually following Drs orders. At this point, breastfeeding should be treated like a bonding moment but NOT as a primary source of eating. Because she does need to know exact volume and caloric intake, not guesstimates. It just makes me so angry how she is handling this. And that poor baby is NEVER in a crib or bassinet. She was on the effing floor for God sake in the recent Vlog.LucyLucyAppleJuicy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 9:07 am I’ve been lurking for ages, but just needed to join up to say, good lord, this woman is insane.

And don’t even get me started with Dumb and Dumber now asking if they should be having their tongue ties fixed. Like what the actual HELL?!
And to wrap up my rant lol; Yes... they have absolutely turned commenting off on the videos. Not YouTube, them. They turned the comments off because they KNOW what they are doing is wrong and they only want to hear how wonderful they are and not any criticism, no matter how constructive it may be.
I’m happy to be here and look forward to more discussions!

Re: Phil and Alex: Struggling With Maternity After Laboring For Eternity | Part 10
Just watched the latest vlog and here I am again just so frustrated and completely floored with where her priorities lie for care for this baby. Let give her this painful procedure in hope I can get my breastfeeding experience I so desire. The sea definitely told her not to breastfeed, to pump and fortify so they know exactly how much she’s getting. And they are just completely ignoring the issues with her neck. Her torticollis is so bad look how she holds her head to the side and the way her neck is when she’s in her car seat all cocked to the side like that.. I wish I could post a screen shot but my daughter had this and she needed a lot of PT to help strengthen her neck muscles it’s going to affect her a hell of a lot more than the stupid tongue tie but that doesn’t fit Alex’s narrative of what’s important. So disturbing how they don’t care about their children’s physical well being
