The worst part is that she abuses her kids but it's not enough for her to get in trouble because cps wouldn't find it abuse. I don't think Chad likes the way ruby is treating him and the other kids but he afraid of getting punished and sent back to prison camp for giving his opinion on all of this. Chad didn't look very happy in today's vlog. The way Ruby was talking Chad was going to be homeschooled too if I was understanding her correctly and that isn't what they were saying. Chad is playing football I think so I guess we shall find out.

Where I live it's kind of frowned on to parade into a store in large groups during pandemic times. For a long time there was a one person per household rule, which they have recently relaxed. I get that the family is very large but I'm not sure that they all needed to be in the store at the same time for any reason other than for the vlog. I can't imagine that anyone besides possibly Eve and Russell actually enjoyed that outing.

WHY does she pull her mask down in the store to talk to the camera? You can easily talk and vlog with a mask on! Also I cringe every time they go into a store/restaurant where the employees are wearing masks but they are not, it’s so rude and inconsiderate. They also need to get Eve and Russell some child sized masks, Eve could barely see with hers on, not to mention there were big gaps on the side because it was way too big for her.

My mom would yell at ruby and tell her to please pull her mask up. I agree about the mask size as in the church photo none of the kids look comfortable in their masks because they cover their entire face especially eve. Haven't you heard of child sized masks unless you got them adult masks as a punishment.

So much to cover. I actually assumed Ruby would have forced Chad to stay home this year and was surprised to see he was allowed school supplies. Or at least a binder. I thought maybe he looked so pissed because he was buying his own supplies, while Ruby was just throwing crap at the girls that they didn't even want. Either option wouldn't surprise me. Chad needs the stimulation more than any of them, so I hope she lets him go.

My favorite part of the vlog was when Ruby couldn't read the words on the motivational pens, and then was unable to identify a tiger. Thankfully her kindergarten educated daughter was there to correct her. Then it was off to get ice cream at a "nude" place in town.....no wonder she doesn't wear masks! It sounds like she needs that cognitive test they gave Trump.

On the mask issue, she hinted why on Instagram; she is worried that she won't get recognized. Like Tinkerbell, she dies if people aren't clapping for her. Thankfully she just won some BS award at a Coronavirus party. Her "speech" also makes me question her cognitive ability. She tried to first explain the "Sego" award was named after the Utah state bird, a Seagull, before Kevin quickly corrected her (he must be so embarrassed to bring her around his collegiate buddies).

Then she explained that mothers are so powerful because it is "not affordable" for advertisers to pay them to "influence" their own children 24/7. Yes Ruby, because advertisers are interested in selling product and making money, not funding an a mother's emotional abuse of her children. That is simply an unfortunate side effect of their corporate strategy. Hopefully it will be corrected soon. Your personality disorder might make you feel like you can fly higher than a sego, but nobody else believes that.

I am crushed for the kids who will suffer greatly this next year and possibly be set back their entire life, but I have to say that I am really looking forward to the content. There is nothing more entertaining than a smug, confident Griffith's girl, intent on displaying her intelligence. I truly hope Ruby keeps her promise regarding all the outings and classes, despite her previous stance that investing time or effort into your children makes you a victim-Mom. She better get them to beach soon to feed the segos before it gets too cold!

Well, she got one thing right in that long-winded poor attempt at a speech in her instatory - she does have a huge amount of influence over her kids as their mother (with “access” to them 24/7). What she doesn’t understand is how damaging her influence on her kids is, how much she’s pushing them away from her, what problems she’s giving them to grow up and have to deal with. One day maybe she’ll realize, but maybe she never will.

Exactly, and why were the masks off in the ice cream shop. You wear the masks going into a restaurant and only take it off to eat, and if you need to go to the bathroom while in a restaurant you put your mask back on for the trip to and from the restroom because you're walking by employees and other customers.

How is it the kids have never had a proper desk or table to sit at in their home, and suddenly because Ruby wants to play school teacher she is going out of her way to get them desks now. What will it take for her to get them nightstands, a place for books and bed frames now.

It sure is comical how enthusiastic Ruby is about setting up home schooling and talking about all the kids will learn under her tutelage, but while they are in private school or public, she can't give a rats ass to support them and their teachers. Even going so far as to throw homework or other needed papers out. A few of her children have struggled with subjects in school under the guidance of their teacher, what makes Ruby think they are going to succeed under her instruction solely. Maybe Ruby and Kevin do not help their children because they believe it is the teacher's place to do it all. It is sad how many parents think this, but a fact. Most parents know it takes parents and the teachers to work as a team with the child. Too many kids with no interaction at home fall behind, we've seen 2 or more of the Franke kids struggling or behind in subjects but neither educated Kevin nor mom extroidinare Ruby can bother to help the kids with their studies.

I hope the kids succeed (not for Ruby's sake, it will just be another feather in her cap thinking she is every child's dream of a mother), but I just don't see how they will when we've seen how Kevin and Ruby have failed them in the past, and this was with proper teachers instructing them. Heck, Eve was skipping out on her entire school day for how long and Ruby wasn't aware.

You can still play sports with your district as a homeschooler. One of mine is homeschooled and still plays sports and does extracurricular clubs with the local public school.

Okay great to know. I don't think it's that way where I live although they may have changed. He still wanted to go to school so that might explain his look. Don't ask the kids what they want to do and then not do it!

It wouldn't surprise me if they kept him home and she will come up with some excuse as to why when really its for control. Chad speaks up for himself and she hates she can't manipulate him. Although him being that way in today's vlog might have just been being annoyed, he seems to act like that around Ruby all of the time.

Yes! That is how it is in my state and restaurants get shut down if they don’t follow the rules. I’m not sure what the laws are in Utah regarding masks but I’m guessing it must be more lax there. But either way it’s obnoxious!

Why can't they always wear masks in public each and everytime and when your getting ice cream or any type of food you should wear a mask when ordering your food and only take it off once you have you food and are going to eat it but in my opinion you should take your food and eat it elsewhere if possible to avoid getting other people sick. I think they only wear them for good publicity not because they believe in wearing masks to protect other people. She has no business going places in public without a mask on. I'm sure my governor would have restaurants shut down promptly if he got reports that a lot of people weren't wearing masks and social distancing. It is very inconsiderate to not wear a mask in public especially when you see the employees wearing one. When they don't wear masks all of the time it sends mixed messages to people.

They would defintely get shut down in Oregon. Our governor passed a mandate on July 1st, before the requirement went nationwide, that masks must be worn in all businesses and public buildings. This applies to those 5-years old and up, with some exceptions (see links below).

Many stores mandate masks i.e. Target, Walmart.... Yes, they are inconsiderate of others.
I'm sorry to see their view numbers are back up in the 200K. There must be a bunch of teens that still like watching Chad.

Face coverings are required in public in Summit, Salt Lake and Grand Counties and Springdale, Utah. They are also required in state-run facilitates and all K-12 schools.

Gov. Gary Herbert has not issued a statewide mask mandate.

As I understand it, a business can say it's mandatory; however, they cannot force a person to wear a mask. They can suggest, offer a mask to them, but in the end if the shopper says they won't wear it, there isn't anything the store/business can do to a customer. Some businesses are willing to refuse service to a non wearing mask customer, but most will not because of how the customer reacts--becoming violent. In my state, many are non-compliant, including some Amish, which is odd. The reason many businesses lay off of it is because a customer can claim a health issue for reason they won't wear a mask then they will sue the business, they have rights and it's their right to choose to wear a mask or not (not what I feel but ...). A business can mandate to their employees they must wear a mask, but, again, if a customer chooses not to, it's up to the business what they will do. Some are willing to uphold the mandate but many are not, like Wal Mart. I may stand to be corrected, but my husband works for a national retailer and this is as I understand it from him.

Ruby is just a pig. She will homeschool her kids to protect herself, but won't wear a mask properly and consistently for the benefit of others.

I wanted to add, many that will refuse service are privately owned, most big-box stores will not do anything other than offer a mask and remind the customer it is mandated. We still have a lot of people walking around Wal Mart and grocery store without a mask on (this includes couples and entire families without them--telling me it's more a matter of their "rights," than it is a personal health issue), all the while, there is only one entrance and that entrance has a huge banner stating the governor's mandate of wearing a mask. I wish I could just spit in the face of those shoppers--health issue is one thing, but because it's your "right," nope, I say stay home!

I haven't been paying super close attention but in Julie's and Bonnie's vlogs of the Bear Lake reunion I have barely seen much of Ruby (although enough to see she was there) and I haven't seen Kevin, Shari or Chad at all. I wonder if they all went? I understand if the rest of the siblings are trying to keep the family out of their videos, I know I would!!

Back on July 10th LDS church leaders in Utah asked that all members be good citizens and wear face masks in public, so not only are Ruby and Griffith Gals being bad citizens, but they're ignoring the request of church leaders too.
