While Ruby was thoroughly annoyed with the little boys rambling on about their stay at grandma's, Shari patiently directed their story to help move them along. Even as others were making fun of them. She made Ruby look like a petulant child and I am here for it.

Also, grandma confirmed my suspicions. Letting the kids watch the banned Simpsons movie was one thing, but letting the little boys watch horror movies confirms it. Rules are ignored at grandma's house because she is supposed to be the fun one. Thankfully most of their rules are totally pointless, and only made because the parents are idiots, but horror movies could have kept grandma up all night with nightmares.
I guess grandma let's everyone have unrestricted access to electronics because in the big video from may that they removed Eve said about iPad usage well grandma said it was ok to use the iPad disobeying the no electronics rule that ruby has made everyone follow when she was gone. Maybe that rule has changed as i see them watching a movie or using the ipad. If your going to ban electronics that's fine then don't back down on that rule and let everyone use them again. I don't think it was necessary to ban electronics but she needs to be consistent when doing it not haphazardly allowing it sometimes and other times not allowing it at all.

College admissions are a total mystery, it's pretty impossible to predict whether somebody will get in somewhere. And that's why students need to work extra hard to make sure their application looks the best it can in all categories, and especially to make themselves stand out. I don't see Shari working hard in any way whatsoever to make her application meet the standard that a competitive school would be looking for. I'm guessing she has probably completely given up on going to a competitive school because it would look bad if she didn't get it, so it's easier to aim lower (just like not taking any AP classes because she didn't knock it out of the park on her first try).

If she does plan to go to BYU, she's clearly banking on her dad's job and her unique youtube experience to get her in. Also didn't Ruby and Kevin set up some sort of scholarship at BYU that they bragged a ton about at one point? It seems like colleges these days really put a lot of weight into creative, unique essays that stand out from the crowd and show positive qualities. Shari really needs to take this stuff seriously, when it comes to college her future will not be handed to her easily on a silver platter like it has been so far. And she is setting the example for her siblings so for their sake I hope she sets a good one.

The only time they were wearing them was in Lululemon and they were leaving their nose exposed as well. You need to have your nose covered when wearing a mask or it won't help. Of as soon as they left the store they weren't wearing masks. I'm sure they wouldn't take chad shopping to get clothes like they did with the other girls and they would make him buy clothes with what very little money he has.
The vlog was filmed in June, and while I agree masks are important, many stores/businesses weren't pressuring their customers to wear a mask at that time. Utah started reopening in May. However, I agree about Chad. He'll be damned lucky if Ruby buys him any clothing.

If he gets clothing it will throw away as a punishment for his behavior. He may get it back if he does some chores around the house but I doubt it.

If Ruby is so concerned about prices, why is she shopping at high end expensive AF stores like Nordstrom & Lululemon? The former in particular is considered a luxury department store, so obviously things are going to be way more expensive than JC Penney, Target or Walmart.

I wonder how much the girls had to share at lunch. I saw them sharing what appears to be some appetizers, then a smallish plate of pasta was put on the table. Going by them having to share food on Bonnie's vlog earlier this year about bra shopping for Olivia, I suspect they did the same this time too. I guess they're supposed to be "thankful" for even being taken out to lunch.

The acceptance rate at BYU is 68.5% so it's not that hard to get in if you're a good student. She already said her SAT/ACT grade is acceptable there so there's no doubt she'll attend and why not if she can get tuition discounted because of dad.

People keep saying it's selective and competitive, but I just don't see it. I saw 64%, but I guess other sites say 68% acceptance rate; and that is just NOT "competitive". But I got rejected by Haverford, which has an 18% acceptance rate because I wasn't "well-rounded enough" meaning I loathed high school and avoided extracurricular activities, except for the speech and debate team. I got into UC Santa Cruz. Harvard has a 4.7% acceptance rate.
Plus, Ruby and Kevin did do a donation to BYU as well as the private school. Remember they lost Eve, or Ruby got lost or something like that?

Have you seen todays vlog? I found it kind of funny that they can't take care of their kids needs but they can afford to buy new carpet for their house. Did they really need that new carpet/ That money could have been spent on clothes for Chad or other things that the kids might need. The carpet was only for her not her kids.

Ignorance is bliss.

Are their kids being homeschooled by Ruby or are they remote learning with their district or private school?
I'm hoping they are being taught by an actual teacher.

Oh but in Ruby's eyes she is a real teacher lol! From what I have seen she is doing some expensive (obviously) remote learning package that she has chosen. I think it's called home and haven.

I couldn't stop replaying the part where Russell pegged Ruby in the head with the ball. He was probably just trying to shut her up. Ruby, implying that you chose that carpet color because your 7 and 9 yr old still piss/crap on the floor is not appropriate. Those kids (and the dog) have zero respect for her already, and she hasn't even tried teaching them anything yet. This is going to be amazing. Look how happy Russell is!
Screen Shot 2020-08-22 at 6.53.11 PM.png
Any bets if she only re-carpeted her room to "make her feet happy" and left Chad's room in disrepair? I was happy to see that the girls negotiated a bedroom makeover with furniture in exchange for staying home, but it makes me sad that the disparity just grows and grows when compared to the scape goat. I bet they will finally get beds for "back-to-school" because Ruby plans to regularly interrupt their studying with a camera for daily footage.

Oh Shari, you did so well last vlog with "the kids", but you are already throwing your hands up and rolling your eyes when Julie speaks. I was rooting for you! We were ALL rooting for you! (any ANTM fans?)

I know there were discussions in previou blogs about replacing the basement carpet because of the recent window well flood. The flood also soaked Chad's mattress since it's on the floor, something that wouldn't have happened if he had a bed frame.

But buying clothes for Chad? Hahaha! Don't make me laugh.

Is it the style for teen boys to wear such tight/tiny clothes now, or has Chad just resorted to wearing Russell's castoffs? It seems extra cruel to make Chad (or Julie) buy their own clothes when they both seem to be growing so fast. I realized that Shari hasn't grown in many years, but she keeps getting more and more clothes, even lurking around her little sisters' mandatory closet purges for their castoffs. Where does it all go?

Ruby once threw out Shari's school shoes because she thought they looked "dingy" and she didn't find out until she was trying to get out the door for a school trip, shoes long gone. I wonder if Shari feels the need to hoard now, after years of Ruby just routinely trashing her kids' stuff without telling them, or if Ruby has ramped up her purge of other people's things with the added stress this year. She even threw out the kitchen appliances Kevin used to cook with when Ruby agreed to allow him a night to cook dinner (she said the pantry looked too cluttered). She also threw out the toilet plunger the day before Boston visited and clogged it up. The woman has a problem.

We saw her make Abby purge half her closet when Ruby was feeling guilty about her own huge stash of unworn clothes that she needed a new house to store. And when Shari was doing that surgery video, she commented on her mom throwing out all the stuffed animals in the pictures and how she loved the Mickey. I realized that the only items any of the kids have from their own childhood is stacks of baby blankets that Ruby is making them keep, along with random items from Ruby's own childhood. It is sick that she just sees them as mules to store her own sentimental junk, never allowed to have a single item of sentimental value of their own.

What I don't understand, is if the Griffiths girls all still have their own childhood crap, where did they get this need to make sure their kids never keep anything of their own?

That carpet was perfectly fine. Just like her master bathroom that she replaced was perfectly fine. Ruby wastes no time or expense replacing the perfectly nice things in the house when she wants something new, but she doesn't provide her kids with anything they need, not even the bare minimum of a bed frame for months and months. That carpet in the basement and especially Chad's room BETTER have gotten replaced before Ruby's precious school room. I swear to god.

When they showed the bottom of rug, there were a lot of big stains. If those are pet urine stains I would have wanted it replaced too (Ruby may have said what the stains were I don't know cuz I didn't listen to the sound). However it doesn't look like they tore up the old padding and if it is urine the smell and attraction for Dwight to Mark his territory is still there.

Why do her eyelashes always look clumpy and stuck together. I'm guessing she can't be bothered to do the maintenance on them in which why pay to have them done when they will look like shit anyway.

Vlog after vlog, I only see her and her kids wearing masks while in some select stores, and then taking them off immediately after. And I'm guessing it's only because those stores require you to wear one inside. And along with that, I keep seeing in multiple vlogs that some of her kids are wearing them upside down. At the very least, she should educate herself and her children about how to correctly wear a mask.
I honestly think covid has really highlighted how narcissistic and self centred she is. The lack of masks really shows how little she cares for others and how little respect she has for those around her. Wearing a mask is not just about protecting yourself but also about protecting others. Retail employees and other essential workers unfortunately don't have a choice about whether they are at work or not, but Ruby does have a choice about whether she wants to go shopping or not. She should at the minimum have enough respect for them to wear a mask around them, to keep them safe and healthy.
I agree

I agree and I think we could be all becoming complacent. I'm in a high risk group and even I was thinking I need to sharpen up my prevention skills with be exposed to Covid. This article I read today is very good. How our brain numb us to Covid-19 Risk.
I had a link that requires a subscription to Wash Post so I deleted it, but all I can say is be careful.

Okay, I just tried watching an episode of a vlog I haven't watched before,"This Is How We Bingham", because it was mentioned on here about the older daughter getting ready to move into the dorms at BYU. Does the Bingham mom always talk a mile-a-minute (Won't even get into the fact that her face looks almost skeletal) to the point it's difficult to understand what she's saying, or is she just extra excited her daughter got into BYU?
