I’m only 16 and I definitely don’t have kids, so maybe I shouldn’t be one to judge, but I feel like a good way to sum up Ruby’s life is “it’s Ruby’s world and her kids are just living in it.” Like aren’t parents supposed to put their kids first and sacrifice for them? She doesn’t do any of that. It feels like she just had kids as like an accessory, and now she sees them as an inconvenience and can’t wait to have her life back.

I also hope Julie, Abby, Eve and Shari(even though I think Shari is a lost cause lol) realize that there’s more to life than getting married straight out of high school and popping out an army of children. That concept is so outdated I hope at least one of them defies those standards and doesn’t base their life around the quest to get married asap and have kids.

Wow, she literally did this entirely because of her shopping addiction. Some of these were expensive clothes. I mean I guess it's good that the kids are benefitting from it even though they didn't get to pick their own clothes.. hopefully they do like them. I sure hope Ruby paid for those clothes for Chad. If I had to come up with something positive to say about Ruby, I guess I could say I'm glad that she lets Chad dress how he wants. She's fine with the joggers and athletic style and doesn't push for him to dress more, like, dressy. But she should definitely be buying most of his clothes still.

You're wise beyond your years. All the Griffith moms act that way. They put themselves before their children. I'm guessing their mom was the same way. If you listen to their children, all they talk about is getting girlfriends/boyfriends and having children of their own. Guess that tradition will continue. It's unfortunate.

I am always so baffled at the way she shops for clothing for her kids. It always seems so ass backwards to me. I don’t understand why she is always so hung up on “at least 1 nice pair of x” or “it’s good to have just one really warm sweater”. Doesn’t it get freaking cold in Utah in the winter? Maybe get more than just 1 freaking sweater.

Russels appears to be at the age where he will be hitting a lot of growths spurts, he doesnt need $40 REI sweatpants. She also acted like Chad was excited to match Russel. Yet, when she asked him he said he liked the shirts and was very flippant about the whole Russel thing (it definately seemed no where close to wanting to match his brother). Look you can buy your kids relatively nice clothes, but I promise you the $10 sweatpants from Target or Walmart will be just as comfy and work just as well for your kids. I also get so irked when she decides that a child will think a certain way, ask the child who literally responds in the exact opposite way she thought they would, and then proceeds to tell the child what to think. Like Russel is 9 years old and shes just now figuring out he doenst like math..... This woman does not know her kids at all. And lastly, her hope for her children this school year is to fill good in their clothes. What about their mind, body and souls? I would much rather my child feel good about themselves then their clothes. I hope my hopes and dreams for my future children never rely on physical items. Thats just so depressing.

Same with clothing, both in person (shopping trip with Bonnie & Olivia) and online. She was shopping at expensive stores in both cases. And while we're at it, why buy expensive fancy socks for your child? A 10-pack of good quality socks are a better choice for him, with maybe one or two fancier pairs to go with the nice Sunday shoes.

The kids have to be grateful they get stuff and can't complain that they don't like it or else they will get punished. I hate how the kids can't have opinions on anything as ruby's opinion wins and they get punished for saying how they feel.

Ruby will buy things like the matching shirts because they are cute and to find things to help generate more views. I'm sure Chad didn't want to wear matching clothes with his brother but he was scared to say no because of the fear of getting punished.

I really have to laugh at how Ruby CONSTANTLY talks about how she's such a minimalist, but she is so not. Everything that she does shows that she is a materialist to the extreme. Her kids don't have basically necessities, not because she's a minimalist who focuses on what matters most, but because she is a materialist who is wholly obsessed with physical things and physical comforts to the point that forgoes basic needs for her desire for luxury. She is crazy about having things that look nice and feel nice, to the point that she purposely ignores basic necessities to have more useless things that fit her perfect vision and preferences. Her kids don't have beds or bed frames, but yet she bought new toilet seats for the entire house. Her kids have bare, prisoner rooms, but she has a thousand dollar mechanical toilet that heats her ass. Her kids don't have winter coats or backpacks, but they have $50 socks. She can't buy her kids uncrustables, but she can spend millions of dollars remodeling her new house and building a shed. Lol, it has nothing to do with wanting to live with little and focusing on what's intrinsically important. She's just so obsessed with having things and having special things and having nice looking things that she can't think about basic, little necessities. Shari posted an Instagram story where she found some old cookies in a ziploc bag. They were lying on some shelf behind some stuff and they had no idea how long they had been there. Abby kept saying they were hers and then Shari said she's just saying that because she wants to eat them. Then, Russell jumped in and started begging to eat them and yelling that they were his, so Shari told him he could have them. I, mean, I guess they were in a ziploc bag, but still, no one knows how long those cookies have been there. That's just really troubling to watch these kids clamor to eat old cookies discovered in some random place in the house. Guess mom must not have fed them that day, if month old cookies look that good to them and warrant an Instagram story.

Thinking back on Ruby saying she plans to take the children hiking as part of the PE portion of homeschooling, I can't imagine she'll do this after the first hike unless it's ridiculously easy. My reasoning being that I see no indication that she exercises regularly beyond yoga and will find any hikes beyond the easy level to be too challenging, but of course she'll pass the blame to the children, saying they didn't enjoy it, they thought it was too hard, etc.

Now I'm not suggesting a climb up Mount Timpanogos as April and Davey did back in early August, but quite frankly they're quite fit. Both of them run 5 or more miles on a near-daily basis. April regularly does core training and lifts weights. They regularly take their kids on hikes too. While they're far from perfect, they do encourage their children to be active and exercise regularly.

I think Shari is very relieved to be back in the Real World with a schedule and she does thrive at school. I'm sure she is glad to have the kids back in Ruby's care for the day.

A lot of people think Shari is the Golden Child or Most Beloved, but if you have watched for any time you have to remember that they have had a very adversarial relationship. Ruby and Shari seem to always be grating on each other just under the surface and Ruby seems to always wanted Shari to be her bff when she was growing up, while Shari was very much independent from a young age. I think Shari has learned to give her mom the reactions she wants in order to survive.

Regardless of where she goes to school I think she will do fine. At this point I see her finishing college and not getting married at 18 like her mom and aunts.
