I don’t think it was that minor. They were hit head on by somebody going at a high rate of speed. That’s her brother. Why wouldn’t she be upset and angry about him being hit needlessly? Like, you’re really going to snark on her for that. I hope nobody in your family gets in a car crash.

Glad they are ok.

One thing that bothers me is Mimi & Jess saying he was making a choice, like how drunk drivers and those speeding make choices. How many times is Jess holding her camera driving down the road and not paying attention? Why havent they learned yet? Or like her kids playing in the road? After what happened to her aunts mother in law why did she continue to allow that and will continue to allow when they've seen what can happen right in front of your own house.

But as for the room I think your forgetting how controlling Jess is. Its HER house because she makes the money, she brags on Instagram that she wears the pants. Yeah I couldn't marry someone who was willing to move away from their kids but i think jess' stepsiblings grew up in arizona with their mom and visited so I guess it's more normal to her. I personally think a stepparent should take the lead from the parent and it's unfair to ask her to do more for t and c than their dad does, especially since she supports them financially. It's the parent's job to make sure their kids are a priority and if chris isn't working to provide for them, flying out to see them, making sure they feel included then that's on him. If she excluded the boys that would be totally different. but it's unfair to rely on your spouse pay for your kids and priorotize them as much as the 5 who are there full time when you have minimal custody and you do neither. I don't see how jess is the villain here when chris is the parent.

I agree, her crocodile tears had me cringing hard in her newest video. Her brother and his gf were clearly fine. Yes, a car accident can be scary, but judging from the video there was hardly even any damage. A traumatic experience for her brother I'm sure, but of course Jess has to capitalize and make it all about herself.

Here’s basically what happened if you didn’t see the video: Ben and his Gf just got into a full size pick up that was parked in front of his family’s house, on a rural road. Two racers came down the road and one car hit the truck head on. It pushed the pick-up backwards. We have a truck just like that one, and it’s heavy. I’m sure it saved them especially because they weren’t wearing seat belts

The person who hit them came over and apologized while Jesss was filming so that was a good thing.

It was definitely minor for a car accident. They were sitting in a parked car, not moving. They got hit head on, not t-boned. They didn't flip, didn't get smushed, didn't roll., there were no severe injuries, no fatalities. Car accidents can be so much worse. I get being worried for her brother, but her own brother didn't even seem that bothered by it. Come on, we should know by now Jess likes to make things appear worse than what they are for her own gain.
(I actually did lose one of my older brother's in a bad accident a few years ago.)

There are some comments here that aren't sitting well with me. Possibly because I lost a close family friend in a *very* similar accident when I was in my teens.

That collision could easily have been MUCH worse. If Ben had walked round the driver's side of their truck about 5 seconds later, that car would have hit him directly before he got in the truck, and he'd have had no chance. I am genuinely very glad they are alright. The outcome was minimal, but the circumstances of that accident were incredibly serious and it is sheer dumb luck that nobody was killed. Honestly I'm surprised they didn't have really bad whiplash at least. Says something about the crumple zone of that truck I guess!

Did Jess make it all about her and (probably) lie about Ben and Kim wanting her to make the video? Yes she did.

Did Jess bring up the accident at her aunt's home that clearly hasn't bothered her for the rest of this year and, again, make it all about her? Yep.

Did Jess graphically overengineer her thumbnail? Definitely.

But do not try and downplay that accident. Please. They'd have found Ben scattered across that entire orchard if that car had been 5 seconds sooner.

honestly they got lucky as hell. my mom was in a parked card when she was hit bye someone speeding and she suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for two weeks and had to learn how to rewalk and talk.

that being said that video left a baf taste in my mouth. Jess in the car recording herself while such a scary thing is happening, the dramatic music she put in the background. im so over her

Exactly, I've been in a really bad accident and I've seen really bad accidents before. If Ben or his GF did anything, and I mean ANYTHING differently or the situation revolving around the accident was different, it could've been a totally different outcome. Like Mimi said, im surprised that the other driver wasn't killed, and honestly if this accident would've happened in a more rural area (no houses etc.) those kids would've just left Ben and his GF there (the other car just kept going and his other friends only checked on the driver involved in the crash). Then to come here and basically excuse the drag racing (when you know if it was your family it'd be different) is disgusting. Imho I think people on this thread hate Jess because its the popular thing to do, she's not nearly as bad as other family vlog moms and actually enjoys her kids. Is she perfect? no but no one ever is. can she improve? Literally all of us can, but when I come here from time to time all I see is nitpicking, body shaming, and insulting her kids.

Am I the only one that thinks the other driver didn’t even go over there with the intentions to apologize? I feel like he only went to get the license plate number for insurance purposes and they all happened to be outside so he felt like he had to apologize because the situation was awkward.

I thought that or maybe they called and asked if he could come over which is why they maybe filmed that. For Ben wanting it filmed he didn't seem to care to be in it, which is why I don't think he asked to film it.
