This forum is spot on about Ellie. She built the ice palace, was happy go lucky Ellie, just spend spend spend. They settled in and all of the sudden it was anxiety Ellie. Now they are building a new house and she's happy again. I will be interested to see what happens when this new house is done.

I didn’t follow them when they built their first house, so I missed all that. However, while catching up on recent videos, I was thinking “WOW! I’ve never seen Ellie so consistently happy.”

I was thinking she should consider a career in design (not because she’s so great at it but because it obviously makes her happy, and she could learn!) she needs a purpose, a job.

Ellie has a shopping addiction like Katie does. She gets her “fix” by planning, researching and buying things. When she can’t find something she needs to justify buying, she plans, researches and “buys” medical treatments and tests.

She would hate this. Ellie likes being able to make purchases and show them off HERSELF. It’s a status thing. A way to brag and show off while still acting like you’re modest because you aren’t actually “bragging” so much as showing off your house build.

If Ellie were designing for someone else it would be their purchase to show off. She wouldn’t like that.

But designing and buying stuff for someone else wouldn't make her happy. She is only happy when she is getting something for herself.
She's never happy for long, either. Once she gets what she thinks is going to make her happy, she realizes it doesn't. I don't know if Jared either doesn't see the pattern or if he has just given up the fight.
But those of you who are newer to Ellie, here's the run-down. She and Jared got married. She had to have a baby NOW. They couldn't reliably feed themselves, and she was still on her dad's insurance, but dammit, Ellie wanted a baby. So off to the infertility doctor they went (I don't think she's so much infertile as clueless). Then actually, she seemed happy for a while. It was after Calvin (who was an oops baby) that things got really weird. She got scary skinny, and kept saying she was "trying to gain weight but couldn't"- meanwhile she was posing gleefully in baby swings and going to the gym and doing cardio.
Then they started building the Ice Palace, and the "I need something ELSE" merry go round really started: build the house, check. Need ginormous hot tub. Need a dog. Need landscaping. Need a stylist so I can re-vamp my style. Need another baby. Need a camper. Need an SUV. Dammit, it's not the _right_ SUV. Need bunnies. Need another dog. Need the SUV she really wanted. Need a beach vacation (several times over). Need to start a clothing line. Need another dog. Ruby's dog is cuter than Penny. Can't have that. Need yet another baby. Need to move because we're "locked up for 6 months" during the winter (which is absolutely untrue-- winter doesn't even last 6 months). Need to build again-- can't possibly be happy with a house built by someone else. Gotta pick out tile!!! YAY TILE!!
I am sure I missed at least one thing in the list of things Ellie "needed" to make her happy. None of it has. Because she's a miserable person and she will never be "happy" until she realizes that real happiness doesn't come from things. And as long as Jared keeps giving in, she will keep doing it.

I agree with the others that she wouldn't like designing for others but 100% she'd be better if she was working. Would be hard initially but I think it would help her a ton.

Once the house is done she will go back to wanting to be pregnant again.

I think you covered most of it! I’m sure there were a million smaller “I needs” she had for the house. She replaced the flowers and trees a few times.

I remember her being better before Calvin too, but thinking about it they were starting to make more money so she probably had a bunch of things she was able to buy or start looking forward to buying. She didn’t have any baby items, so she had an excuse to buy all those things guilt free. After Cal she had to justify replacing all of the perfectly fine items she had left over from Jackson.

This shouldn't be funny, but it is when you think they are supposive fashion designers. Seriously, the fall clothing line should had been out at minimum last month and this is probably one reason Bollie is going away.

Yes, robes and the "luxury loungewear" in different colors. However, they still should have their website updated (features their "Spring 2020 Collection") and fall merchandise should be ready to go. Hasn't Jared been responsible for the website?
It seemed like when they realized how much work it was to create a clothing line, and all they appeared to enjoy was the travel, they didn't put much of an effort into their work or weren't time sensitive. I think this maybe more Ellie than Bonnie who worked harder on this business, but in the end she may have given up too. I'm a little surprised Bonnie is even cutting down to four days a week vlogging since she has been a worker.

I wonder if they realize eventually they are going to tap out their audience on robes. Everyone who watches them and actually wants a robe will have gotten one or maybeee two. There’s no way they could be reaching beyond their YouTube audience. So what’s the point of producing robes every season, eventually they will run out of buyers, especially considering none of their audiences are growing. Seems like a business model destined to fail.

Have you heard of Mama Dr. Jones? She's an actual OB-GYN who has a YT channel. Anyway she was posting on her IG account and was talking about "hormone experts" and naturally Ellie came to my mind. Dr. Jones said the only hormone specialists are endocrinologists-that attending classes and seminars, etc didn't make you a hormone expert. Dr. Jones said those "hormone experts or hormone coaches" that spring up has some product, book, etc they are trying to sell you! She also commented on getting these total panels of blood work. What she advised was just testing certain things that match your symptoms. If I remember right, the reason she wasn't for doing the whole deal was hormone levels change frequently. You all have mentioned that here too. Anyway I was thinking Ellie sure needs to read what she was posting. I won't be surprised if she doesn't do a vlog on it too .

Those posed pictures of her on her IG crack me up too. I always wonder how many pictures she makes Jared take before she's happy. He does it too. There's one of him and the boys in his office, that Ellie had to take. It's just so contrived.
