That whole thing about the girls having a good immune system because they were breastfeed is bull ! My neice and nephews were breast feed . Two are in day care still and they still manage to get sick .

Right?
My first thought was, well... maybe they just have different genetics than Phil and Alex.
Second thought, maybe Phil and Alex are just big wimps?

Maybe . Another thing that bothered me is the gravity feeding . I really hope she gave it at least a week or so before giving up . The speech therapist/feeding specialist would probably want her to give it at least a week or so . I’d also call the therapist and ask for different things to do .
My other thought was the medication protocol associated with IVF would affect her milk supply, so she's hoping to stop pumping prematurely in order to get back to IVF. If she has a big enough stockpile baby could continue to get breast milk for a couple months after she stops pumping.
I've been wondering if they really would do IVF again given the heart condition she inherited, but my guess is that they'll be back to the clinic within a year.
I'm very impressed by people who can continue to exclusively pump. For two short months I was pumping two bottles a day at the office and it's a lot. I was either forgetting a part at home, forgetting milk at the office, stressed about finding time in my schedule to pump, or stressing about the amount I was able to get. I was fortunate not to have any feeding or weight gain issues, but I found it challenging to get enough with the pump. I almost feel like it forces your body to go into oversupply because of what the pump is able to extract versus what baby is able to extract directly. When lockdown happened I pretty much never pumped again and it was freeing to not be counting ounces or worrying about creating the right supply and demand. (I really felt for all the formula moms when the shelves were bare here in the states.)
Exclusively pumping is definitely a big commitment. I wouldn't even necessarily fault Alex if she was creating a stockpile so that she could stop pumping earlier, because it's a lot of work. I'm not sure she's thinking that far ahead though. I think she still under the illusion that baby will be breastfeeding after her heart surgery.
Am I the only one who finds the bragging about the quality of her hen’s eggs really really weird?
Also, I was told that the composition of breast milk changes as your child gets older, so there’s no point stockpiling. Also, a lot of the immunity boosters and nutrients are lost in the defrosting/heating up process, so it’s on a par with formula. (This is all stuff I was told by healthcare professionals).

She will be surprised when the color changes all of a sudden and I don’t know how many hens they have have but once they start laying she will have eggs out the wazoo and they won’t be able to use them all.granted eggs keep for a very long time but still

What the actual fuck. get off your breastmilk high horse and LET THAT BABY GAIN WEIGHT. I am certain she's trying to delay surgery as long as possible. Cassidy doesn't fucking care about her unicorn fairy sprinkle fucking milk. She wants to have the strength to lift her head ffs

Alex has raised two other babies, there's no way she doesn't know that babies Cassie's age are supposed to be rolling, turning, and maybe even on the verge of sitting up and eating solid food. Poor Cassie is the size of a baby much younger than her, looks thin and without colour. This is what Alex is doing to this child so she can continue to breastfeed. It's disgusting
She's only 4 months old so I wouldn't expect a typical 4 month old on the verge of sitting up by them-self or eating solid food. Doctors don't recommend solids before 6 months old. But I agree the poor thing looks really poorly. Her color keeps going more whitish gray. Seems she's still puking with only breast-milk, so the devil's formula isn't the cause.

It’s really irritating that you keep calling her Cassie, that’s not her name, and whether you like her name or not isn’t the point. Shorten it to ‘C’ or something
What does it matter if we call her Cassie or C? As well as I've heard Alex call her Cassie in an Instastory.
She's posted a couple of stories from another heart momma who's daughter seems to have the same or similar condition to Cassidy. She's about two days younger than Cassidy and i know we shouldn't judge but the difference between the two girls is astonishing. Vera looks so healthy and perky whilst Cassidy looks poorly and lethargic.

Vera already had the surgery at 1 or 2 months old. She did have the same condition but went into heart failure and had to have the surgery early. I read through a lot of the saga on Instagram. They are in TN as well and it was hard for them to find a surgeon to do the surgery on such a small baby. A very scary/emergency situation. Ended up getting helicoptered to Boston. They seem like a very sweet family and it bothers me that Alex calls the babies twins. They have not walked the same road.
I also worry for Alex keeping track of all the meds and feedings after the surgery. She may be a former nurse but she's very selfish and thinks she knows better than doctors.

P&A absolutely LOVE to lump themselves in with whatever group they think will garner the most attention and sympathy. First they wanted to be the face of infertility. Then adoption. Then IVF. Then miscarriage. Then RV living. Then homesteading. Now it's CHD babies. Even if their experience with that situation is minimal, they act as if they understand everyone's struggles because hey, they too know this pain, and they want to remind you that your pain has a purpose (whatever the hell that is supposed to mean). It's really insulting when you think about it.

Ah, thank you, I didn't know the back story of Vera. I'm not going down that rabbit hole.

Cause it’s not her name, and the snark is on Alex not her baby

Given that there are hundreds of videos showing Phil and Alex refer to Kinsley and Callie as Teetsie and Bug I think Cassie is perfectly acceptable. Bug was likely a derogatory name because of Callie's big eyes, and Teetsie is just awful. There's video of Callie screaming "Titsy, Titsy!" at her.

Exactly! Enough with the name conversation! No one gives a shit
I dont think anyone in that family has a very maternal/ loving demeanor. In the beginning of their latest vlog cassidy is on the couch laying next to I don't know if its Alex's or Phil's mom but like... thats your grandchild. My mom couldn't get enough of my son at that age. He was little enough not to squirm out of her arms and he loved being snuggled up.
This grandma (again not sure who it is) is sitting beside her grandchild and isn't holding her or interacting with her or anything. Cassidy is literally a piece of furniture in that house. They prop her anywhere and its like ok there's the baby try not to errmm step on her or whatever. So damn odd. I dont think ive ever seen a tiny baby that physically neglected from being held and coddled and rocked and carried.
Also I find Alex as a mother just... not warm, not comforting, there is nothing about her that screams mom. In the car while she was keeping Cassidy awake her voice is so coarse and harsh. She isn't soft, her hands where rubbing her daughters face so roughly.
I know sometimes moms have a hard time bonding and its not always instant. But you still manage to be soft and gentle and as sweet to your child as possible. You try. That's all that moms can do sometimes. But considering Cassidy is being dragged from doctor to doctor and being poked and prodded constantly youd think Alex would feel in any way more protective of her Cass and shes not. My kid gets a fever and im here not sleeping from stress, worried, comforting him until hes like okay mom stop.
Seriously, 3 adults in that house and no one wants to hold the happy baby? What is wrong with them? That’s completely not normal. Alex says, “are you happy to be out of your car seat?” Uhhh no.... she’s still sitting in a rocker thing. Cassidy doesn’t know the difference.
I've really been noticing the way she speaks to Phil lately. She thinks he's always wrong and that his ideas are bad. The way she says "No" to him, like he's a child or stupid. And then later, when she's like "I'm gonna say veto."

THIS!!! Alex so clearly isn’t bonded with that baby at all. She seems like she’s more interested in the breastfeeding journey than actually being a mother to her baby. You would absolutely think especially since Cassidy will be having such a huge surgery soon that she would be held and nurtured and they would cherish every second with her but that’s absolutely not the case. They just put her anywhere they can and pay zero attention to her. Kinsley is more motherly to her than alex
