I'm definitely no expert on the matter, but I think she looks great! It seems like aside from the emergency procedure everything has gone really well and I'm so relieved.

I agree, I reckon it’s all the fluids she’s receiving and proper nutrition, she looks hydrated and rested. It just shows how malnourished she looked before. It was the same when she was admitted for failure to thrive at two months. I really hope she stays looking this good and recovers well.

The FIRST thing I noted when I saw the pictures was how beautiful color her skin was. Healthy pink and not greyish. To be honest, her color looks better now just after surgery than it did before. I hope this surgery was successful and it will lead to healthy and happy life for her.
Do children with this kind of issue need further surgeries when they grow up, or was this surgery enough? (I know every case is unique, but is it typically enough?)

I think they said Phil only had one (or maybe two) surgeries as an infant and never needed another one, so it's possible that if Cassidy's recovery goes smoothly, she won't need to go back under for this particular issue ever again.Kataja wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:08 amThe FIRST thing I noted when I saw the pictures was how beautiful color her skin was. What I still c a n n o t understand is why these two show the lives of these girls to the whole world.. I bet Callie and Kinsley wont be very happy in a few years when they are old enough to realise what a whole lot of people have seen. I wouldn be for sure, it was embarrasing enough to let anyone see Pictures from when you were a kid in your teens.

I think the moment their pictures get turned into a meme, maybe then they’ll realise. Who knows?

I think a big thing for her is to see what happens with that leaky valve. As long as it stays minor, she can live with but if that valve were to start leaking worse she could get really sick really fast. A leaky Mitral valve caused my grandma to go into heart failure and her lungs to fill with fluid very quickly. As far as other parts of her heart, the way I understand it is some will only need one surgery and others need more. They'll just have to keep monitoring her heart see how things go as she grows. That's something she'll have to do for the rest of her life.Kataja wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:08 amThe FIRST thing I noted when I saw the pictures was how beautiful color her skin was. That close up photo of her face, she looks like a different baby.Kataja wrote:The FIRST thing I noted when I saw the pictures was how beautiful color her skin was. Healthy pink and not greyish. I'm glad everything looks as though it went well, now, here's hoping that when she eventually gets home, Alex doesn't go back to obsessing over her unicorn milk.

Did anyone else spot the breast pump in the back of the latest photo? I don’t know how to post pictures, but it’s the yellow/cream box, in between the red and the green chairs. That’s a hospital breast pump.

Isn’t the biggest worry after any major surgery is infection? Alex takes her mask off to pose for a photo, even if it wasn’t COVID, wouldn’t she be needing to wear the mask to protect her baby’s health after surgery?

Yep. And she’s making the same mistake yet again thinking that anyone wants to see her! Everyone wants to see Cassidy and that she’s ok. Keep your bloody mask on you idiotic woman, we don’t care about you!Here_2_talk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:45 am Isn’t the biggest worry after any major surgery is infection? That didn’t take long. She’s probably was in withdraw from not posting about her BM.Here_2_talk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 7:41 am And we are back to the usual BF posts

She mentioned after Cass was in the NICU they decided to rent a hospital grade pump.LucyLucyAppleJuicy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 2:41 am Did anyone else spot the breast pump in the back of the latest photo? Those asking about the PICU room you can see the wall of glass in the background. But why is Alex eating behind a curtain? She has certainly made sure she's been eating this whole time, meanwhile playing games with Cass' eating for the the last 4 months. With the most recent breastmilk picture we know that isn't changing post op.
Editing to add... I just noticed all the "I" statements. Truly showing it's all about her.

Re: Phil and Alex: Boob Juice Infatuation & Heart Defect Exploitation! | Part 11
EXACTLY! Also it’s VERY common to need a bedside procedure to place a tube. My daughter after her surgery needed a stomach tube and extra chest tube. It happens idk why they’re making it seem so dramatic. The first night is all about blood pressure they go up and down that doesn’t mean she’s “crashing” like Alex said. It means her heart is recovery and needs medication to help. Which EVERY patient gets after surgery.DarthMama wrote:I follow a family of a child who only has half a heart. Yes taking and posting pictures on social media to update families is common. What isn't common is all the posing P&A are doing that is all about Alex. It's all for clicks and the almighty $$$$$$$ for them. Once again back to the family I follow, yes there are strangers that are invested in that little girl, and mom posts a lot on the public facebook page about the ups and downs, I've yet to see a fully posed picture of mom faking crying with little girl. Fuck, I've never seen just a picture of mom in any of the life threatening things that came up, unless it's mom cuddled up with little girl and the picture isn't posed. As well as these pictures seem to be all for drama. The post op posed picture looks like they had to have been in the room for a couple minutes. They also seemed to get quite a few up close pictures of her lines, hands, feet, etc in this time. Yet, the first post op post out is about how there was an emergency bedside surgery, for dramatics, with one of the close ups of lines. Then a bit later we get Phil posting the defeated Alex sitting in the chair with worry. Talking about the emergency bedside surgery and Alex needed to sit down. Now 24hours later we get the posed Alex, smiling over Cass, post op before the bedside surgery.... It was all posted out of order for dramatics. They are building this up for the video so everyone will want to watch it. More clicks on the video brings more $$$$$$ to them from AdSence and sponsors.Lexx123 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 8:31 am I guess I’ll play devils advocate here. I don’t necessarily see anything wrong with her taking and posting pictures. When my son got his heart surgery we took videos and photographed a lot in those two months we were in Children’s, and shared a lot of those on my Instagram for friends and family so they can keep updated. It was easier to do that instead of texting and calling everyone. I don’t think that makes me a narc and doing so definitely didn’t take time away from my son. I’m glad I have those photos and videos to see how far we’ve come now. Also for those of you saying, even before the surgery that “they shouldn’t be exposing her chest” I’m a bit more concerned that you’re sexualizing a baby.
Watch P&A's vlogs. 99.99% of the time Cass is in the bouncer (that a viewer bought), high chair, or just flopped on the floor. You rarely see any pictures of an adult holding her. She's by herself. Like the "Home school video" where they had to slip in "Day in the life of medically fragile child" they are up stairs and Alex just tosses a blanket on the floor and puts Cass on it. The only interaction when Cass is just flopped about is C&K. You never see P or A just talking to her while holding her lovingly.
No one was sexualizing Cass' chest. It was more the fact of what was written and how it was all about Alex. As well as we all know Alex seems to have a disconnect with Cass and her not being perfect. Now she'll have a zipper scar down her chest to remind Alex how not perfect Cass is. As well as it was just an odd post that was posted on social media. I get having a picture like that for yourself, but not for thousands of strangers.

Your daughter is recovering from major surgery and is hurting. Taking off the effing hair bow, stop posting about you damn breast milk, and if you are going to post about it, get it right. It’s foremilk, not formilk. What an educated NICU nurse.
