I'm glad that she's not flaunting the scar, but the way that she's covering it looks unnatural and awkward, which draws more attention to it. By randomly placing a sweater over her chest and by so blatantly having her hand on that specific area, it's like she's trying to cover up the "ugly" scar. Why not just have her in a normal outfit that covers the scar? I get the feeling that she's not accepting of this new mark on her daughter (which isn't surprising). Poor Cassidy, I hope that she learns about healthy body acceptance when she gets older.

And now she's posting photos of her still almost naked, but with her scar covered up.

This is it not about modesty, or protecting her kid on the internet, it's about body shame and money. People on instagram like to see pretty things. Alex hates the scar and how it might taint her blonde haired, blue eyed bio baby that she needs to bring in the $$.

Even the groupies noticed, but in order to point it out, the person had to apologize in the original message so they wouldn't get slammed by everyone. It's such a toxic group of people; no acceptance for anything that might vaguely resemble a difference.

The only thing making me second guess is the big pink band-aid on Cassie's abdomen which could be covering the incision from her drainage tube. Maybe her scar is a lot smaller than I anticipated, but you're right - I expected to see some sort of redness, bruising or even surgical glue. But it has been 2 weeks since surgery, so she's had lots of time to heal.

Ngl that vlog was hard to watch. That poor sweet baby. She already looks healthier, her face is glowing!

My son was born a few weeks before Cassidy and I cant possibly imagine what that was like for Alex, or anyone, to have to see their baby like that. It's just utterly heartbreaking.

I personally got annoyed with her dramatic story telling so skipping around made the vlog more tolerable.

I think she’s covering Cassidy’s chest because babies heal INCREDIBLY fast and Cassidy will already have a neat, clean, light scar that looks far far better than what you could imagine. My daughter had whatever that plastic seal stuff is they put over the wound after surgery, with the puss and blood and grossness underneath it, and when that seal came off at about 2 weeks post surgery I was SHOCKED at how damn good it looked! Zero bruising, zero redness. A thousand tonne better than what I expected and I couldn’t believe how much the scar had healed in such a short period of time - literally about 80/90% of the total healing in that time. Her ‘zipper’ at two weeks post op looked much the same as it does now.
I truly think Alex is covering it up because she wants to milk this surgery as much as she can. Cassidy’s chest right now would look incredibly good & Alex doesn’t want people to see that. Plus it’s not for privacy because she’s already showed Cassidy’s chest pre and post op.

Glad to see an acknowledgement in the latest vlog that the staff were amazing and the equipment available to them lifesaving.

They're fairly silent at the moment. For all we know Cassidy has been home for a week already, but by the time the 'she's home' vlog comes out it will have been a month since surgery and will look like she's been there ages. Not downplaying how serious her surgery and stay were, they were for sure the biggest deal. But implying an inflated stay suits the story and general theme P&A tell about their life better than transparency does. Just like saying they had 12 months travelling in the RV suits them better than being honest that they had an IVF transfer in Sept, then went travelling and settled down in a house 2 months before she was born aka March time.

I'm sure every one of you heard my eyes rolling at the dramatic story telling. Once again they were able to get posed shots for IG, but "We were rushed out of the room minutes later." It was also strange that the face of worry and looks like about to cry when they get back in the waiting room, to a completely calm face talking about what was going on. I still to this day break down talking about a hospitalization when people ask about it and I'm 3 years out from that.

Also making a point to mention the hospital gave them the hat, lamb, and blanket. That seemed strange to me. I think most know hospitals typically give a child something while they are there to feel safe. My kids combined have had 5 surgeries and one hospitalization. Each time, even day surgeries, have come home with a little stuffed animal at minimum.

I’m just watching the latest vlog. A pleural effusion isn’t fluid around the heart. It’s fluid in the pleural cavity, the space between the lungs and the chest wall. It’s not great, but is usually easily treated with a best drain. A pericardial effusion is fluid around the heart, that’s more serious. Alex should know these terms backwards, bearing in mind her former profession...

Interesting choice to post their vlog in the middle of election night. That is not the type of content that I could stomach last night regardless what the results were looking like, and I can even imagine saying the same if I were fans of them. Even if the content didn't have its dramatic flare - still not great to hear about complications after open heart surgery in the midst of a major political event! I think I made it in 20 seconds into the vlog before I felt ill from the voiceover. Kind of gives me a throwback to the BLM social media blackout a few months back when they were posting regularly. Not wanting to bring politics into their content is one thing (and very much appreciated), but ignoring what's going on and lacking awareness is another. It'll most likely hurt their views, at least in the short term.

It'll be interesting to see what's next for them in terms of content. They've always had something big going on... Adoptions, IVF, RV life, pregnancy, Cassidy's heart issues And now the surgery is over and she's doing well. I'm sure there will be some more content around her feeding, but aside from that I think this "chapter" is closing for their vlog. How will they keep people engaged? And even more so how will they keep the sympathy views coming if they have the dream life with land, a house, 3 beautiful daughters...
