So I wonder what happened here? Is she back to starving Cassidy? Has she been forcing her breasts into Cassidy's mouth ever since they got home, and her milk has started to dry up because Cassidy is drinking a fraction of the amount that she would normally have expressed?

I'm betting, like most things alex reacts to, she went all in and stopped pumping all together to ExClUsIvEly BReAstFeED. She altered her own supply, I dont think it dipped on it's own. Pumping very much sucks, but she is lucky she has a great supply and can provide for her fragile baby any way that she can. Yet it's never enough unless she gets the full experience.

This post bleating about not having a 'typical' nursing baby is both expected but still shocks me. Here it is, their first obstacle to overcome and then preach about. If she manages to get it back then you know theres a 'how I managed my milk supply' video coming.

Since Cassidys surgery there hasn't been a single photo of all 3 kids together. As someone said above if they're mr and mrs positive then why arent they celebrating the huge win of a successful surgery and being home together?

It must be a poisonous place to live in her head with this obsessivness, and obviously a poisonous place to be around Alex while she frets and spirals.

I wonder how much also is them thinking they already had the coronavirus back in Feb when they were all so sick. So they feel immune to catching it or spreading it. Not saying this is their only reason or that they are right. Just wondering if it plays into their attitude

I don't care if they did, there are people who had it in the first round and are getting sick a 2nd time. I watched a local meeting with our Covid-19 task force last night where they talked having multiple people who tested positive and had symptoms back in the Spring, testing positive and having symptoms now. The immunity to this virus is very short and even if they had it, they could get again and could spread it.

To be fair though, I don't think that's the issue at all. These two have a long long history of thinking the rules don't apply to them and being selfish.

To be clear, I do agree with everyone else's criticism of how they are selfishly not wearing masks etc. And I am very well aware of the questions of immunity with this virus. Perhaps it wasn't clear that I wasn't negating others points, but trying to add in another piece that probably makes them extra careless.

Similarly to how the 8 Passengers family has always refused to wear masks etc. Then they all came down with covid, and now they are even MORE careless because they think they are 100% immune, can't spread it, etc.

Alex is part of the evangelical Christian community, which basically preaches that a woman is good for housework and producing babies.

Her body doesn’t produce babies.
Thus, she feels like a failure as a woman.
Despite her faith, her God has refused to provide her with the one thing she is “supposed” to be able to do: be fruitful and multiply.

Since she failed to be fertile and create a bunch of mini Philips for this planet (ew no thanks), she has put her entire self-esteem as a woman into being able to breast feed: the next best thing. It is one of the only other things a woman was made to do that a man can’t.

Her shattered pride over infertility and producing an unhealthy baby went into pride of overproducing breast milk. Finally, she was doing something ‘better’ than most women. She became obsessed with showing off, because she felt she was finally, FINALLY doing something right. Her body was actually doing something it was “designed” to do.

On top of that is her crunchy granola “breast is best” attitude, as opposed to the more sane “fed is best” approach perpetuated a cycle of wanting Cassidy to breast feed. She wanted that natural experience. She wanted to prove she could do it. But instead of her body letting her down, it was Cassidy this time.

And now that her milk supply is dropping, she’s blaming herself, and probably Cassidy. She’s scrambling. She’s panicking. She’s probably crying and whining and a nightmare to live with.

That baby needs fed - breast milk or formula - it doesn't matter. She should be able to thrive now that she's had the surgery. We all knew that this was going to happen though - Alex has been obsessed with breastfeeding right from the start and she would far rather her child doesn't get enough/ doesn't thrive because she is part of the over the top breast is always best no matter what society of nutters.

Oh I completely agree, the obsession this woman has with breastfeeding is unhealthy. It's hard to tell with her because her stories are always so convoluted and I'm guessing largely embellished, but the only way to know if a baby is getting enough is to weigh them after feeds and to see a long-term healthy weight gain. If she expects to continue to pump 17 oz in a sitting, that's not a healthy regulation of supply. I would estimate my daughter was eating about 8 oz per feeding at that age. Her baby could just finally be emptying her and she's panicking over nothing because she still expects to overproduce, or maybe her supply is finally tanking after months of overproduction. The pump doesn't always tell you everything. The important details are whether her daughter is content and gaining weight, and of course that's left out entirely.

Yeah I don't get it either! Kinda felt like I was the only one who felt that way. But I mean, I don't have kids so I figured maybe that was why. I also am SO bored of talk about babies and their sleep schedules. Idk if Phil and Alex talk too much about that, but Rachelle sure does.

I guess I can understand being preoccupied with that stuff if it's your kid. Though I don't see how that gets to "let me spend 15 minutes repeating myself to tens of thousands of people, about this tiny change in my baby's routine" and then for heaps of those people to find it fascinating and discuss it amongst themselves. None of those claims about Christianity are true. What year do you think it is? They aren’t in the Duggar’s weird fundy cult. We are (mostly) normal people. We wear normal clothes, watch normal TV shows, occasionally drink, get tattoos, normal stuff. We aren’t taught that women have to be baby breeding machines.

Just another day in her narcissistic world. Given her personality, her "temper tantrum" ie narcissistic rage, would have been directed at finding a way to blame someone else for what happened. Cassidy maybe for having the diaper blow out. Maybe Phil for talking to her and distracting her and causing her to forget about the milk. Who knows. But this behaviour is totally predictable for someone like her with NPD. Those kids are being traumatised by her personality and behaviour all day, every day.
