Genuine question, did none of you ever let your infant fall asleep in the car seat? I never put my daughter in a car seat or swing for the purpose of sleep, but of course she did end up falling asleep during long car rides; don't most babies?

My baby days started in 1989 when newborns were supposed to sleep on their belly’s 😱.
Of course all my kids - last one born in 04’ have fallen asleep and I left them sleep in their car seats .
The point is now though that it’s 2020 , she already lost a poor baby and she’s an “ influencer “
She should be totally knowledgeable and promote only safety for newborns when they are asleep .
She seriously gets no passes being a new busy mom or
Whatever . She needs to think before she films anything . 🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of babies fall asleep in these places but it’s best practice to move them to an appropriate sleep space if they fall asleep. I don’t let my kids sleep in the car seat if it’s not in the car bc I’ve heard so much about positional asphyxiation.

I worked in daycare before I had kids so I knew the regulations about safe sleep. If my child fell asleep, as much as you would want to keep them sleeping to get a break, I would move her from the swing, bouncy, car seat, etc and lay her in her crib. Most of the time she woke up but that comes with the price of keeping your baby safe.

Unpopular opinion: can’t believe I think this but there’s something about cooper...

I can’t put my finger on it.

But hear me out... is it possible this is a Jonbenet Ramsey situation where the brother had something to do with the death his sibling and the family is coving it up out of fear?

This could explain his attachment to the new baby and explain if things like the moment she posted- hanging out with crew alone for Brittani to just “walk in and find them”.

Maybe he went in to tuck the baby in on Christmas and it caused the accident?

We will never know though.

It wouldn’t be a far fetched idea that there were multiple kids sleeping on that bed. Her kids are young and in the napping age. I thought the same thing.. maybe not deliberately but when he said off camera that he was going to cry, I could see that as being immense guilt. I know someone whose child accidentally rolled over onto the newborn in the parent’s bed. (One of the million reasons why you don’t co sleep) As much as you don’t want to place blame, that child will always know what they did.

My two always fell asleep in the car seat under a year old (sometimes they still do at 5 and almost 2 Image). But when you get where you're going, you're supposed to take them out of the car seat once you bring it in the house and put them in a safe sleeping arrangement - crib, pack and play, or bassinet at that age. Heck, even holding the baby as long as you're awake and sober is fine to let them sleep while holding them. But sleeping in a car seat (not in the car), swing (Mamaroo), etc. is not safe for positional asphyxiation. It's why the Rock and Plays were recalled and taken off the market. Having a baby sleep in the car seat in the car is different than out of the car because at least in the car, the seat is (usually) locked into a base which locks the seat in place - not the case outside of the car.

Sorry for the novel, but it merits an explanation Image

My babies were born mid-90's when they were supposed to sleep on their sides. I even had a foam rubber prop covered in fabric that kept them from rolling onto their bellies or backs. They fell asleep on car rides, but I honestly don't remember if I let them stay asleep in the car seat.
But as has been said, Brittani has already lost a child to unsafe sleep practices. And she has a platform. She should be extra careful with this precious life, and shouldn't be posting pictures of her baby in an unsafe situation.

Babies absolutely fall asleep in their capsules or car seats. The point is that of course they should always be used when you're in the car, but when you're not in the car/ you've got to where you are going , baby shouldn't be left in them.

I was a babysitter in the 90s and I remember parents specifically instructed me to put the baby in the crib on her stomach with a gentle hand on her back to keep her from rolling over until she she fell asleep. How did we not lose more of them?

As many of you have said I simply cannot imagine having my baby die, concieve another and birth it all before my child's anniversary. Like wtf. She has to have some very serious mental issues going on, and the poor kids too. They should have all been in therapy and her stupid husband should have not rawdogged her to make her happy. What a toxic, toxic family.

Poor crew. I'm so sorry you'll only be remembered as the one who got them fame.

well said. She's a nut job. She got pregnant right away, which is horrible for your body. Meat Loaf goes along with it. He loves her pregnant. It's a fetish with him.

I wonder if it's when he gets to Crew's age when he passed if it will really start hitting her. Or maybe it won't ever at all. She has this numbness about her.

Infant carseats sit at a completely different angle in a car (on the seat with seatbelt or with a base) than they do on the floor at home or on a bed/table/chair.

That difference in angle is enough for an infant to asphyxiate. The floppy head/neck with chin on chest blocks the airway.

The point is she should know better.

Know better, do better.

She knows the pain of loosing a child in a preventable way. Yet she continues to show her stupidity when it comes to this new baby and her existing children (no helmets, no footwear, binkies in mouths on scooters, in the middle of the road where construction is happening, i mean come on??)

The sad thing is, if she continues this way in such a blasé fashion she will end up with another deceased child on her hands. It may not even be this baby, it could be one of the others or another future child. She is careless and hasn’t learned her lesson.

I can already tell she’s bed sharing with the new baby. Not a bassinet in sight. She got that nice breathable mattress and the owlet monitor...and I bet anything that newborn is sleeping in bed with them.

Oh yeah I would bet money on it. You know if she had gotten a bassinet it would be sPoNsErEd and therefore she’d be pimping it out. She hasn’t learned a thing. *facepalm*

She doesn’t want to promote safe sleep. That would be tantamount to admitting her unsafe sleep practices are the reason Crew died and she wouldn’t dream of that.

But her inability to practice safe sleep with this baby, already, is disgusting. My daughter is two and I did unsafe things with her - she slept in a Rock n Play for months because that was how we could get her to sleep. We bedshared. She slept in her carseat out of the car. I’m pregnant with another and already making plans that those aren’t going to happen. Even though nothing has happened to my older daughter, I’m working to actively change and do better with my younger daughter. Know better, do better. It shouldn’t take the death of a child to learn that lesson - and if your child dies you should sure as hell have learned that lesson.

I was literally just coming here to talk about this! What a stupid bitch. Does she need another baby to die so that she can finally fucking learn? So careless and irresponsible. She shouldn't be allowed to have children. Unbelievable.
