am i the only one who thinks they should have stuck with aurora and let aura be a nickname? i know kyra wants roo but they could also refer to her as aura with her official name being aurora. kyra said it’s a name that will grow on you but after hearing it over and over in that video i’m already sick of it

Roo was the nickname for Aurora (when I looked up names with the nn Roo when they first mentioned it Roo was one of them). Now how/why Roo is a nn for that name I don't know.

wowwww

also

the look on Korinas face after she says Aurora and they say no we changed it and she says noooo

hahaaaaaaaaaaaa
Kyra and Oscar have talked about their issues, not like its some secret that she told a "friend". Not to mention the ig fight video that's out there.

Leila is just trying to get attention off of the things shes done.

Kyra's Dad's reaction haha love it! Btw, Grandpa Sivertson also my second favourite OKBaby character after Alaya, I don't know, he seems really sweet with the kids :)

There could be things regarding their issues that they didn't publicly share but that Kyra did share with friends\online "friends" who she trusted. I suspect that might be the case because it sounded like Leila was subtly threatening Kyra. If there was nothing in the messages that was not public knowledge, wouldn't embarrass Kyra and possibly Oscar as well, I think she would have just stuck to mocking Kyra about her anxiety instead of then insinuating to her that she would expose her messages if she continues to open her mouth.

I think changing it from aurora to something so similar is kind of dumb especially after having told everyone “aurora” for months. I do not like the name Aura Jean sounds when they say it all together like that and I think aura as a word already never sounds natural to say. But I will say, I do really like when Oscar and his family use the Spanish pronunciation like “ah-ouh-rrrr-a” with the rolled “r” it seems much prettier that way.

TopazBlues wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 1:53 pm I really dislike the name. I admit to being picky about names to begin with, but I actually like Levi, Alaya, and Averie. I'm also a sucker for cute nicknames for little kids, but I can't bring myself to say "Roo." Maybe because it's my friend's dog's name lol. I just don't like anything about it, honestly. Aura is too much of a word to be a good name, if that makes sense. Also, I wish I didn't, but all I hear is "orgy" when I hear Aura Jean. I wish they would spell Roo as Rue at least. With that, there's an obvious Hunger Games association, but in my opinion, it's better than that of Winnie the Pooh. Even though I know that was likely Kyra's whole thought process. It's not going to age well, and unlike their other kids, she doesn't have a more normal name to fall back on.
Is it weird that I'm way less bothered (and actually kind of like) Rue over Roo? I mean, it's the same name but Rue seems like a name to me, where as Roo reminds me of winnie the pooh, and just kangaroos in general.

So is it perhaps more risky too? If she had a husband who had to go back to work and she had no choice fair enough, but you'd still only lift your other kids when/if absolutely necessary. She's holding her toddler stood at the fridge for no reason...and Oscar is what, in bed?

I was stupid enough to pick up my one year old after my hysterectomy, and my sister was ready to murder me for it (she was staying with me to help). Sure enough, I had to go back in because my stitches came undone. Now I have a big old scar where I should only have a thin one.

All I think of (besides migraines) is "auror" from "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

When Oscar asked Levi if he wanted to hear her name. Did he say no? Or Bell? Because it seriously sounded like he said no to me lol.

Averie is no longer Teeny because she’s not the baby. Just like Roo won’t be Roo any more when the next baby comes along.

Edited to add - I just finished watching. I wouldn’t have used that video. Because not one person reacted like they liked Aura. Amy (?) recovered quickly but you can tell she didn’t like it.

As someone who has migraines and aura's that is probably the last thing I'd name a baby... Did they really research that name before they slapped their child with it?

Aura the whora is all I hear when I hear this name. They did not think this one through at all.

Also, perhaps it's because I live somewhere French, but as someone previously mentioned, I love Rue I hate Roo. Although Rue is also a thing in French (street) it is so much better than Aura and Roo!

unpopular opinion i guess but i think aura is nice. not something i’d choose but nice. i think aurora is pretty but a little bit of a mouthful and aura will be a cool name when she’s a teenager and older but not for a baby/child

also i completely agree with previous posts that ‘rue’ is SO much better than ‘roo’ even though it’s the exact same pronunciation lol. roo just does not seem like a name, but when i see rue i think of the character from euphoria who totally fits the name.

last thing, i really doubt she will have to worry about being bullied for the name. with all the crazy crap people have been naming their kids in the past few years, aura is no where near the worst. not to mention in all my years of school i’ve honestly never heard people be bullied for their names but maybe that’s just me idk!

I honestly like Aura wayyyy better than Aurora. Maybe because we have that name in my country and I don’t know any associations with it in America. Also, Aurora will forever be princess name to me so I don’t know how anyone can say that Aura is not a grown up name, because it’s way better that Aurora. Aura is way more sophisticated and has an edge to it. Aurora is just rainbows and unicorns

If it wasn't the same name as the precursor of a migraine I might feel different. But naming your child after an uncomfortable scary thing that happens right before intense pain, is just not a great choice in my opinion. Maybe it's because I've experienced an aura many many many times but the thought of naming a child that kind of horrifies me.

I told my 14-year-old sister the name and she said, "Oral Hygiene?" And now that's all I can think of :D
