I am brand new on here.... accidentally found this as I accidentally found Phil and Alex a few years ago.
So many things have cringed me out over the last few months.
I started to find it really upsetting that they kept choosing to include footage of their fading daughter.
Alexs' complete obsession with feeding Cassidy breast milk and how she didn't want to give up her dream. For me, I couldn't have given a shit as long as my baby were gaining weight.
Philip being so preachy.
They only ever include footage of Kinsley and Callie being the sweetest, nicest kids although we all know that this cannot be true of them all the time.
I feel that their children will never have the option to be non believers. Phil would never let that happen.
In the last vlog Phil was being crazy. Cassidy has just had all this surgery and he is chucking her about like a rag doll.
And one last thing....when are they actually going to use the straps on her bouncy chair and high chair? Cassidy isn't this tiny little immobile thing any more. Its dangerous.

I mean... Where to begin. This vlog has it all. Breast feeding obsession, "adult tantrums" (kid tantrums aren't allowed), Grammy singing about breast feeding or something, Alex neglecting to tell Phil the great results for Cassidy and leaving it a full 24 hours, Phil being all "wait why did you wait to tell me??", P+A high fiving very hard right on either side of Cassidy's head, Phil handling Cassidy like she's a worn out teddy bear. He was hitting Cassidy's hand into Alex's palm over and over and very roughly. Cassidy looked worried. He did it for so long Alex kinda snapped "okay that's enough" and he immediately shuts off his excitement and acts like a puppy that just got a newspaper to the face. He needs to be more careful with her! I know most babies are pretty hardy but Cassidy isn't most babies.

This confused me too! He knew this was a big apt and he didn’t ask how it went? That seems bizarre to me.y husband asks how our kids apts went even when it’s just a routine well check. This is a follow up with the cardiologist after open heart surgery and he doesn’t ask? And she doesn’t even have the urge to tell him until the next day? Weird
Also as someone said above Alex’s mom does look like a real life zombie. Seems her “all natural” approach to life isn’t working so well for her

I get how Alex feels. I exclusively pumped milk for over a year because my daughter wouldn't latch from the very beginning. Everyone has their own feelings about breastfeeding and what's right for them, but I can tell you that when I found out that I couldn't nurse at the breast, I was devastated. For me, breastfeeding was an essential part of how I pictured bonding with my baby and the months of postpartum to come. This was obviously so silly---you can bond in so many other ways. I had to readjust my expectations and talk it out in therapy to realize that I don't need to nurse my baby to feel close to her. That's part of Alex's problem. She might also be trying to compensate for what she sees as lost bonding time with Kinsley and Callie.

The other part of her issue is how she identifies as being an ~aLl NaTuRal~ mom. The crunchy mama world continuously pushes "breast is best" and vilifies formula even though there's very little (if any) legitimate research out there that supports the superiority of breast milk over formula. If anything, Alex should look at how absolutely stressed out she is and ask herself if pumping is doing more damage than good. Watching the last video of her crying and hugging Kinsley was just so cringe. Kids are sponges, and she's continuously exposing them to whatever chaos is going on with her milk supply.

Lastly, every resource that's out there for women who want to exclusively pump is focused on # of pumps and ounces per day. It's really easy to get caught up in numbers and measure your worth as a mom in milk.

Alex had a complete meltdown over losing 4-5 ounces. She still had BM in the freezer! I cannot imagine if (god forbid) the freezer goes haywire and stops working and she loses all of her BM stash.

I’m not a mom but is it normal to be this obsessed with breast milk? She was crying over spilled milk, more than once. She has a freezer filled with breast milk for a baby that needs more than breast milk can give her right now. I don’t see the big deal about a bottle or two that spilled over. And all the up close shots of the breast pump parts after they were cleaned in the dishwasher. She makes it seem like this is normal but I doubt it but I can’t be sure since I’m not a mom.

Alex had a stressful few months, or years if you include the IVF and failed attempts. However she would never acknowledge that, she doesn’t get stressed, she prayed that shit away, don’t you know?!
She’s now blessing people with her expertise. She’s in total denial, with all the talk of ‘death of a dream’ and clinging so tightly to BF with the added stress of C’s open heart surgery I think she’s a prime candidate for PPD.
Do yourself, your children and all your loved ones a favour, and talk to a therapist.

On another note. I felt I sensed a hint of disappointment in her demeanour when C’s results came back showing so much improvement. Maybe just me.

Ive not watched it yet, I'll look out for that. If she's improved so much, which is brilliant considering how fragile she was looking and let's be honest, I think a lot of us were worried about a possible different outcome, what is Alex going to do now to eek out vlogs about what? They don't fit as well into the infertility community anymore, nor the sick child community either.
I have a weird feeling that now that she's had success with IVF, she's going to be one of those women that suddenly, unexpectedly get pregnant naturally.

I don't put anything past Alex, and I haven't watched. But disappointment that C is doing really well could also go back to Alex's obsession with BF. Like she's doing so well why isn't she exclusively breastfeeding yet? Just a thought.

When you're spending 95% of your day pumping or framing your free time time around pumping, spilling your freshly pumped milk is the last straw. Especially when you're sleep deprived or have a low supply. All that being said, Alex is still a nut job.

It depends on the mom. I've breastfed four and only pumped with any regularity with my second. It's a bummer to see it spill but the only time it really ever bothered me was when I needed it (as in this is the only pumped milk we have and we don't have formula). With how much of a stash she has, while it would certainly be disappointing, I can't see why she'd be that dramatic in front of her kids. The way they looked at her is very telling. They know mom is upset and they need to watch out and be quiet

Oh, I really hope Cassidy finds her lungs, and like any other baby gives them ‘hell’. They had a child that was quiet and limp for too long, that they think they got this all figured out. Hi Cassidy! Rock the status quo.

Phil is frequently way too rough with her. I'm kind of wondering though if a contributing factor is that he comes across as an inexperienced parent with small babies? He does have three kids, but it seems from vlogs that Alex takes control of everything with Cassidy (was she the same with Kinsley and Callie?), so he may have a limited amount of hands on interaction with her? (I was shocked that Alex actually allowed him to do the overnight stay in hospital)

I'm not so sure about the success of unexpectedly getting pregnant. Seems the biggest issues is Phil's swimmers. There isn't that many, and what there is can't swim straight or don't swim at all.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact Kinsley kept trying to blame Cass on the spilled milk? And really if you just pumped baby has a poopplosion. Put the milk away, then clean up baby, or at least put the milk on a more stable place than a pack n play. It won't kill them for 2 seconds, and when the poop is already all over them. As well as there was 3 non working adults in that home. One could have helped Alex with baby poop, while she dealt with the milk, and the third adult got up with the 3 girls while the other two slept in a bit, because we all know Alex needs her 12 hours of sleep a day.
