It seems crazy, and for her to share it on IG casually like that. Everyone is commenting too that the bank should be able to sort it out. Gee must be nice to be able to ride on the coattails of your youtubing family and have that much money before you're 18.shortstop wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 4:27 pmI guess it can happen BUT did she lose her bank card , let someone know how much money she had. Can someone explain to me how money can even be stolen out of a bank account, am I just being stupid?! Maybe that's how Ruby got her bidet... lol.
Someone commented- something about why aren’t your parents paying for college. Shari responded by I’m choosing to pay my own way.
I really wanted to comment We were told by Ruby that they aren’t paying for college.

Even if they did pay, I doubt you'd want to owe Ruby anything. If I were her kid, I'd try to be independent as soon as possibleshortstop wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 4:27 pmI guess it can happen BUT did she lose her bank card , let someone know how much money she had. This is why banks are insured. If her account was hacked, and money stolen, she should be able to get it replaced.
And hopefully she will learn to keep better track of her debit card. She probably has some stupid PIN like her birthday or 1234. Losing her card and not immediately notifying the bank is pretty bad. Is she trying to follow in Ruby's ditzy shoes?

She posted something like my money got stolen and now there is little chance of getting it back. And then said she had enough for 4 years of school. I looked up BYU (because that is where I believe she wants to go) and the cost of attendance for a mormon (yes there is a different cost for mormons vs. non-mormons) is about $20,000. So that means she has lost $80,000, and she is so non-chalant about it. And what kind of bank does she have, if it's not insured??? If I lost $80,000 from my bank account you better believe I would not stop until my bank did something about it. Some people in her insta comments were theorizing something else fishy was going on, because the bank should be finding ways to get her money back. Did she invest it somewhere odd? Did her parents do something about it?? Such an odd way to share the news too. And I looked and Ruby has been posting normal insta stories and posts so she doesn't seem to0o upset about it. If that were me, my mom would be even more upset than I was. This all seems very odd.

Does she get an even bigger discount to BYU if her father is a tenured professor there?

Since she is refusing to admit where her money was when stolen, I'm wondering if perhaps it was given to Grandpa G to invest, or maybe Uncle Beau...OR maybe even her own parents were keeping it stashed in the house somewhere in case they need it for End of Days scenario.chrisb332 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:15 am She posted something like my money got stolen and now there is little chance of getting it back. Regardless of what went down, if she made a police report, then they would have told her to not talk about the details in case they arrest or someone confesses.
Or....maybe this is a ploy to make Shari stay home and continue to raise her siblings vs going to live on campus (which is the only way she will ever escape them)!

If it was actually stolen right out of her bank account like she says, it seems a sure thing that any normal bank would be insured and replace it. She will probably get it all back but just had to be dramatic about it first. Wonder if we'll hear any more about this, I doubt we will if she gets it all back and all is well because that's not dramatic or tragic enough.
That's literally insane that BYU has different tuitions for mormons and non-mormons. God that is SO weird.

Totally agree this whole stolen money situation is very odd. I deal with this type of thing as part of my job and most people are completely rattled by a situation like this (as they should be!) and it’s so odd to see Shari posting about it so casually. Even if you know the bank will reimburse you, it is a very stressful thing to go through. I’m curious why she thinks she won’t get her money back...Is it just because she doesn’t know any better? Usually the only time they won’t refund you is if you were involved somehow...but if it was truly stolen without her knowledge then they should cover it. If not she needs a new bank ASAP!

Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
My daughter's account was hacked, and they were stealing $9.99/month for several months before we caught it. $9.99/month isn't much, but if you multiply it by many accounts, it adds up fast.
I think they maybe got $50-ish, and we were plenty freaked out.
I don't understand their way of thinking. Because we know it's not that money and material things aren't important to them. They're plenty materialistic.

Well she does seem more upset about Chad eating some greasy cheese than her money being stolen.
Banks have insurance, because if they didn’t, they could claim “someone” stole your money and keep them themselves. I don’t think she doesn’t have a chance to get it back, on the contrary, if it was in the bank, she’ll get it back.
But if by stolen she means she lent it to someone or invested in something and now it’s gone, then bye bye money. That is not money being stolen that is bad choices and poor judgement.
Also why does Shari fixate so much on what her siblings eat? In this IG she’s judging Chad for eating some greasy spread. What do you care?! He is young and quite fit, he can eat whatever he wants. I remember she was also hating on Julie some months ago because she ate a lot of bread.
Shari please, let your siblings live carefree and joyful. Just because you have a food and body image obsession doesn’t mean you have to make sure everybody else feels self conscious.
Stop. Julie is a growing young woman who being is taller and skinnier and needs more food than you. Deal with it.

And when Chad first came back from Arizona and all she commented on were his abs were gone. Gaining weight at a place like that is the worst sign of neglect ive ever seen

Now I curious as to how the registration sticker for a scooter ended up on Shari's car instead. Doesn't it say anything in the envelope that this is for such-and-such a vehicle?

Yes, it is very irresponsible. But I know a few kids including myself when I was her age all made financial mistakes in life that at least hopefully mold us to be financially responsible people. So yes it was dumb but I think her age has a lot to do with whylmmomSD wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 2:58 am This is why banks are insured. Apparently Chad had a pre-Thanksgiving MRI because he's getting migraines after lifting weights, including one that was bad enough to make him cry.
Kind of curious why Ruby held off buying pie plates until it was close to Thanksgiving. Of course stuff like that's going to unavailable, especially the day before Thanksgiving. For someone who claims they're organized and the like, you'd think she would have bought them at least a few months in advance.
Also, it seems Ruby has learned the hard way that it's a bad idea to eat unrefrigerated sprouts because she got food poisoning (At least according to her) from doing so and bailed on the day before Thanksgiving meal prep. If any of the kids had done that they would have been given a lot of grief for being ungrateful and not helping out.

Ruby has never been grateful about anything, but passes it off on her kids, like it's them. She loves to gaslight them. And I knew someone was going to get sick from those sprouts... does she not ever look up anything about food born illnesses or how to store anything? You have to read up about sprouts, they are one of the most dangerous produce items. She's a nitwit.Josette wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 2:59 pm

I avoid sprouts for this very reason. I wonder how many viewers got sick from her stupid advice??
Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
It's a Thanksgiving miracle! Ruby Doobie Do has recovered from "food poisoning" or whatever the heck it was overnight. I was always taught that when you have a gastrointestinal upset, you should take it easy for a day or so and stick to the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) to give your system a rest. Is that not the case nowadays or was Ruby not as sick as she claimed to be so she'd have an excuse to not help with the pre-Thanksgiving prep work?

What exactly was that stuff that they were making in that huge bucket? The one that Shari said had egg in it.. and they put cool whip and pomegranate in as well? Anyone know?
And could they possibly have given that poor dog any bigger pieces of meat? Could they not have cut it up? For goodness sakes, it's a good thing he didn't choke! Also, that was a lot of ham for a dog... dogs aren't supposed to have ham, because of all the salt in it... a little would have been fine, but two slabs that big, was overkill.
