It's pretty standard these days to run a common CHD-related genetic panel on babies with a CHD. So they might already know she has something. The inheritance of gene mutations is far more complex than it was taught to us school. Penetrance varies, with affected family members ranging from having no disability, to having severe disability. I know someone born with moderate 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (she looked very "odd" at birth). After her diagnosis they tested the parents, and the dad actually had it, but zero phenotypic effects. So it's possible they already know what she and Phil have.sondraK wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:06 pmThen what else could Alex do.Embryo adoption?saltybitters wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:50 pmConsidering IVF babies are more prone to heart problems than non-IVF ones and we've now shown that Phil's heart condition is genetic, the odds of any baby made from their genetics having the same issue is way higher than I'd be comfortable with, personally. If they came up with nothing, they might (or will in the near future) pursued whole genome sequencing to actually try and find a new/rare mutation.
If they get a hit with one of the two above methods, they could actually create a personalised genetic test for their embryos. This is called pre-implantation genetic DIAGNOSIS which looks specifically for their own gene mutation. Which is different to what they did last time, which was pre-implantation genetic SCREENING. The latter just looks for unspecified gross chromosomal abnormalities that normally cause pregnancy failure, and cannot detect single gene mutations.
In reality though, they would never tell anyone if they did that, because it would mean discarding embryos that are compatible with life in order to get a baby that will breastfeed.
But if they go through anymore IVF cycles with genetic testing - particularly if they start afresh before trying to transfer the ones they already have in the freezer - then it would be very possible that they are secretly throwing in the specific genetic diagnostic testing in addition to the screening that is typically done. We'd never know.

Re: Phil and Alex: Boob Juice Infatuation & Heart Defect Exploitation! | Part 11
Without having a look at their particular genetic sequencing with people way more qualified than I am, I wouldn't bank on it being that low. It really depends on whether or not their CHD is truly recessive or if it has dominance over healthy copies, if it's chromosomally linked in some way, and the degrees of phenotypic variation for others with this mutation. Yes, with typical healthy parents presumed to be genetically normal, a CHD baby would put their odds via IVF at approx 4% (compared to 1% of all traditionally conceived infants and 2% IVF infants). However, risk within families with known genetic issues is a different can of worms and requires a look by genetics counselors with custom diagnostic testing. In the middle wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:59 pmThe chances of it happening the first time are extremely low. Re: Phil and Alex: Boob Juice Infatuation & Heart Defect Exploitation! | Part 11
Given that Alex is a narcissist and what she wants is all that matters, I don't think she would have trouble using a sperm donor to replace Phil and his genetic heart condition. She would just see it as an easy solution that still gets her the bio baby she wants, increases her chances of pregnancy by eliminating Phil's poor quality sperm, and reduces the likelihood of having a sick baby that won't breastfeed.

Also.. have her parents just permanently moved in? I can’t see a reason they’d still be there. On the last vlog, showing the 5th she'd bought in faith a couple of years ago she said something like "we need to buy another one"

Phil needs to buckle up. Now that Alex has proven to herself and the world that she can "let her love multiply" she will never have enough. She's already chomping at the bit to get pregnant again, and when that pregnancy fails to meet her expectations in the smallest, most insignificant way, she'll set her sights on having another one.FlowersTar 68 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 8:20 am On the last vlog, showing the 5th she'd bought in faith a couple of years ago she said something like "we need to buy another one"

I can see the videos now..."After 18 years of infertility, we're finally expecting our third biological child!"

Boy I’m late to the party. Cassie been off her feeding tube a week now. I know Alex was using it and not using it sometimes when Cassie would pull it out. But didn’t know she stopped all together.

Oh for crap's sake. Their followers drive me batty. Phil and Cassidy are not walking miracles. They are products of science and advancements in medical technology. 70 years ago, babies like Phil and Cassidy didn't make it. Today, septal defects are among the most common and treatable CHD's. These two aren't even a statistical anomaly, let alone "walking miracles."

One of the posts she said she only eats 2.5-4 oz per feed. I feel like my daughter was eating way more than that at 6 months old, but maybe not? I just worry that cassidy isn’t getting enough nutrition now that she’s “strictly nursing”Dani_465 wrote:Boy I’m late to the party. Cassie been off her feeding tube a week now. I think this is why I thought she was still was getting some feeds thru her tube. 2.5-4 oz doesn’t sound like a lot. But I’m not a parent.girlmom1821 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 12:08 pmOne of the posts she said she only eats 2.5-4 oz per feed. Alex said she had been told it was fine as long as she doesn't lose weight. I call total bullshit. No medical professional would have told her that. The absence of weight gain in an infant is also failure to thrive because she is meant to be growing like a weed.
She's causing permanent damage to her brain and neurological development.

Hmmm yeah. My 3mo is drinking 4-6oz per feeding now
(This is for a 6mo)
Hard to know if C is on solids or not rn but I'd guess not that heavily into it yet

The range for formula feeding is that the baby should have, in ounces, 2-2.5x the number of pounds they weigh. A 10 lb baby would need 20-25 oz per day.
I have a 4.5 month old I was unable to breastfeed despite having exclusively nursed 4 other children (so yes, I understand the heartache of not having a nursing relationship with your baby.) He weighs 14.5 lbs so he needs 29-36.5 oz per day. I offer him 6 oz per bottle and he usually eats 6x per day.
There is no way a 2.5-4 oz bottle is going to cut it for Cassidy. They’d have to be feeding her every couple hours around the clock, which I dint imagine they’re doing.

Does anyone else absolutely hate Phil's loud, over the top motivational hype? It's such total and utter tripe - like he is trying to convince himself that life is perfect.
