Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
Heidi, you took a job that let you work from home and be with your kids. There is nothing wrong with that. We all have to pretend to like someone at some point to make life easier and sometimes to earn money for our families. I commend you for coming forward and speaking the truth. Thank you for confirming that Tawra seems to be generally well and able bodied. It would have been easier to say nothing. If you have read this thread, I'm sure you have seen us (mostly me ) express our thoughts without anything to really back it up. That leaves us looking like we are disgruntle about something. That's far from the truth. Media is important. "Influencers" are shaping how people think, and some "influencers" are bad for the country. Not only their opinions but general scammy behavior as well.
There is a lot to unpack with Tawra, but for example, the Emily situation give me Myka Stauffer vibes --the "influencer" that returned her son...
I only watch the YouTube channel, no Facebook. And generally people on social media show thier best for the camera. It's shocking that LOAD is this Tawra's best.

I think Tawra is sick, but its self inflicted, its all because shes continually TRYING to make her screwed up thinking WORK.
Its like trying to unscrew a flat screw with a philips head. Its never gonna work and your hands begin to hurt.
If Tawra started to change for the better Id champion her big time. But it wont happen, sadly.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
Thank you for your answer, IHateCilantro. I'm not sure why I never put that together, but I can see that viewpoint about the issue being more about narcissism than religion. I don't know why I never realized that the cult-leader of my former church is probably a narc. I'll have to check out that version of the NT by Thomas Jefferson- sounds interesting! Thanks!IHateCilantro wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 8:26 am Fun2SaveMoney?
I think Tawra isnt a Christian, shes a narcissist. Narcs use religion to bolster their inner biases.
Tawras religion is TAWRA.
https://pro.psychcentral.com/exhausted- ... e-tactics/
Fun2Savemoney? Someone once told Ricky Gervais, " I love your Christ, but dont like your Christians"
President Jefferson published a Christian Bible that was all of Jesus' words and acts from the NT, w/o the miracles.
And its one of the KINDEST most loving books.
All one needs to do to be a Christian is LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR.
Obviously, If we are loving our neighbors, we will not be murdering them, Bullying them, Calling them names, burning their churches, lying to them, snuffing their lives out like George Floyd, committing adultery against them, or coveting what belongs to them.
They also wouldnt be WISHING their Gay dad death, or hoarding Walmart meat.

Thanks Heidi, I messaged you on Facebook!GetitTogether wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 9:26 amMessage me on Facebook Heidi Strainfun2savemoney wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 7:17 amGetitTogether wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 3:32 am So I wasn't going to come back. I felt like I said my piece and was going to.move on but I saw a few titles of her videos and it makes me realize how much I hate her. I have never hated anyone so much as Tawra.
She is obsessed with this site and checks it every day. Within hours of posting last I was blocked across everything. Which is completely fine because I had never looked back. Also please don't worry about me. I have zero pain , loss, or hurt. I never liked her to begin with. Even when she came to my house. My husband wanted to know how I always find crazies. I worked for her because it was easy money and it is interesting to me to understand people. I truly, truly understand who Tawra is. She has not a shred of good in her. I have never met anyone so morally bankrupt. I have literally hundreds of screenshots to prove it. But I probably won't take the time to post anything now. I have 4 kids all at home doing DL.
Do I have the gingerbread recipe? No. I never asked for it. Nothing good comes from that families kitchen.
Is Tawra faking? Let me just say this. In the over 2 years I worked for her I never once knew her to be sick or sleeping. Does Tawra think she is sick? Yes. Does Mike? Yes. We can make ourselves sick just by unconsciously wishing it. It is for sympathy and attention. She needs so much attention. Almost like a toddler. She needs her ego stroked constantly. I have never seen anything like it in an adult.
Janelle's sister has been in the hospital for over a month in South Dakota with covid. She is 54 years old. She was on a ventilator for over a week and almost died. Tawra's experiences are the only legitimate experiences. Classic narcissist. Also Tawra was convinced she already had covid last March. BJ had its supposedly and she was sure she had. But do not believe anything she says, ever.
But I also understand that I am not a good person. I worked for her for 2 years pretending to like her. I used her for an easy job. That also says something about me. I am no saint. I can at least see my flaws. The absolute arrogance of Tawra is frightening. So ask me anything. I don't come in much but I will try to check back.
Also she has pissed off the canners and now probably the Preppers. I thought for sure the Preppers were giving her the death threats. She should be careful.
Thank you for your experience on here! I was a part of the grocery group and was upset when it was suddenly closed as I was attached to the group at a time when I was kinda lonely as my kids had all just gone back to public school full-time after we had home schooled for 5 years. I thought you did a wonderful job as the admin and moderator for the grocery group and wished it was your group and not affiliated with Tawra.
I used to watch LOAD videos because even though Tawra annoyed me at times, much of it felt kinda familiar and in a twisted way comforting to me. I too grew up with a single mom and we were involved in a church that preached almost verbatim a form of Christianity that I hear coming from Tawra and Mike. I left the cultish church when I was 18 and had a choice and the boy, did the stuff hit the fan with the church and my family. It has been a lifelong struggle for me to reconcile my own spirituality with how I was raised and the "Biblical truth" I had drilled into me. It is very disconcerting as I don't know what to believe or what to trust.
GetitTogether, I don't know your spiritual or religious beliefs, but how do you reconcile the "gospel" they preach and the Bibles they give away with Tawra's moral bankruptcy? It is so confusing to me as I feel like everything I was taught was kind of a lie and I'm still reeling and trying to figure things out. It is eerie to me how what comes out of their mouths about Christianity so close to what I was taught as a teen in that church.
Thankfully I have made a ton of progress- especially in the last few months and have no desire to watch anything from LOAD ever again. I read on here to try to process and understand and hopefully move past my negative experiences so I thank you, GetitTogether for sharing your insight and experiences.
So sorry to hear about Janelle's sister and I hope she gets better soon!

Heidi! I so appreciate the insight. Good luck with the DL. Throughout this crazy year I've thanked my lucky stars that my kids are day-care age and not school-age.
What do you guys think the appeal of Tawra is to their fervent followers? It's not hard to see that Jill sheltered the kids (some her own closemindedness, some because they were "persecuted") and they grew up in an unhealthy situation. I get the appeal of living frugally and being creative about it - that's what drew me to the channel originally. But it's gone off the rails now. Tawra is mean and crazy, all they do is complain or boast... I mean, what on earth is it that has people fawning over their videos and sending them money and gifts? I seriously cannot relate because I only hate watch.

I have never understood the sending YouTubers gifts thing besides a card or drawing. It is bizarre, but seems to happen A LOT. That is why they all seem to have PO BOXES. I would send one of you here a gift before any YouTuber.
The appeal is the same appeal that you likely have and what fun2savemoney posted. I do "like" their lives because it feels like you are hanging out with a friend. But, would you hang out with these people in real life? I certainly keep bigoted two faced scammers out of my life.

In the end the only ppl left will be ppl who think the same as them.
All the good ppl will have deserted them.
I have a question for Heidi...
When Tawra and Jill are together, is Jill negative towards her?
Heidi?
Ive seen ppls posts on THIS site saying that they loved you on the show and they missed you.
That you were one of the best parts.
That they wished that YOU had your own show. So why dont you make your own Facebook Group.
The good ppl will follow you.
Good in, good out.
I really wonder what the conversation was like when T&M left Idaho and concocted the whole scheme.
I want Tawra to understand that when i watch her shows, what I see is a person who is in deep pain.
Shes held on to that so long without getting help and dealing with it, that its become NORMALIZED.
She thinks its normal to feel that way
The way she was raised by Jill was also abnormal, but shes done nothing to fix it.
Tawra? My Uncle was an ordained Minister, HE NEVER ACTED OR TREATED PPL THE WAY YOU DO.
So stop using God and Religion to justify your hate and behavior.
Tawra, moving to a bigger million $$ house is never gonna fix your internal issues, you still will have
mirrors in the bigger house and you will still hafta look at yourself and deal with YOU.
Mead Colorado has many Christian friendly therapists, find one.
So make an appointment, go, try it out. Ill bet when you leave you will be LIGHTER.

The 1st time was because she was unable to get a product in the USA and I had some, so I shared
The 2nd time was purely for fun. I love quirky kitchy items and so I sent I think 3 boxes over a 6 month period, full of hilarious, fun and odd objects and when they opened them on a live we all had a huge laugh. Side splitting, forget your troubles, out of breath laughter.
The 3rd time I sent stuff to a charity.
I have had a box of stuff for a 4th YTer but always postpone sending it cause the entire reason for sending it was taken off the market and i kept waiting for it to return to the mkt, but it never has so i feel like What is the point? She is one of my fave YTers EVER.
I will never send 1 and 3 another thing though, cause #1 was so ungrateful (such a snob) and #3 never acknowledged 2 of the boxes or thanked me.
Number 2 I will send boxes to in the future just for the laughs alone. Cause Laughter is great therapy. and we all need more of it.
I always said Id never do it, but I did.
Shrug

I was never a fervent follower, but I think many people like a strong and bossy personality telling them what to think and reinforcing what they already think and the structure that provides. One can feel a sense of belonging from following a cult-type personality. Many also can identify as the same kind of Type-A, opinionated, black and white thinking personality that Tawra has and when she goes off on a topic it can bolster your own self-righteousness in that area. Also I think many people turn to control mechanisms to feel better about their circumstances and themselves. It's hard to let go of control especially if you have a certain personality type. I also think people look to others who seem to have the "answer" for the problems of life.
In my opinion, Christianity for some people is about being right and believing the right things above all else. For me, this caused a lot of pressure to be a certain way which can lead to mental health struggles and toxic thoughts, attitudes and behaviors. I think there is also the huge underlying issue that a lot of these beliefs come from a fear-based system and mentality which is also quite destructive to mental health. I personally think that Mike and Tawra are trapped in these kind of belief systems which is sad. I don't think either of them really understand themselves at a basic level or understand what they need. I find their situation very sad.

I wonder if Mike ever thinks about how his childhood set him up perfectly for an unhealthy relationship (I.e. Tawra) or if he thinks he was healed before he met her. I can’t recall if he “became a Christian” before or after they were married. I imagine it must have been before or else she wouldn’t have married him.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
Ya, I don't remember about when he said he became a Christian. I think opposites attract and your differences can either feed into each other in a negative way or complement each other. I see this in Mike and Tawra and perhaps she secretly wishes he would stand up to her more and even resents and has no respect for him and sees him as weak because his personality works differently than hers.eye_roll_cringe wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 10:33 amThis is really insightful - thank you!fun2savemoney wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 9:45 am

Also, I believe they both struggle with insecurity, which is a common issue for many people and also leads to self-centered and toxic behavior.
It is too bad they have a platform to influence others when they are so unhealthy themselves. But I think Tawra loves the attention and sycophantic behavior she gets on the internet while they probably feel simultaneously trapped with their business. It is obvious she has no passion and no extraordinary skill in the realm of food and cooking and burnt out long ago if she ever did have it. It really sucks to feel trapped and makes you feel hopeless. And they both seem extremely trapped in their self-imposed restrictions to me.

Tawra is a terrible cook and she knows it. That's why she sarcastically calls herself a best selling cookbook author everytime she screws up. She asks for compliments on her cooking and her kids clearly do not want to eat what she makes.
I came across her channel because I love money saving tip videos and inspiration. And they have given me a push here and there. I think they should go back to those. But, that doesn't sell her terrible cookbook.

I mean look, regardless of his Emmy award, his actual skills in filming and putting out the YT show are not up to par with other YTers.
So Mike quit/got laid off and didnt go back to his job. He can now stay home and do his little show and be the king of his domain and seem important.
Do you remember when he said that he was upset that his college didnt teach him how to apply for teevee jobs?
Do you need someone to hold your hand too Mike?

Omg you’re so right. I just watched part of a 2018 show when I guess Mike miscalculated the number of books they had and ordered more in a panic. He said something to the effect of “me and my college education can’t do math.” Har har. I guess his hypothesis was student + college = massive success — without taking into account personal responsibility. And when that didn’t work out for him his experiment proved that college is a waste.IHateCilantro wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 6:46 am

My MIL thinks it’s lunacy to go to a private college, especially an ivy leave. Really? Because I went to a private school and had no loans whereas my husband went to a state school and did. Why do you think parents and kids spend so much time researching schools vs. interests and invest time and money into a successful college experience?
I’d love to learn more about Mike’s background and schooling but Tawra would never let that happen. She doesn’t even credit him as part author of the cookbooks when I’m sure he did just as much googling as her!
I am always surprised (in a bad way) for the poor video editing and technical issues since Mike loves to brag about his decades of experience.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
I went to college and there was a lot of people that should not have been there. Mike was likely one of them. I'm sure many of those people got a degree.
Being college educated doesn't automatically make you good at everything. College educated people know that. I really don't understand his world view here that he would make a joke like that.

And thats the thing... Ill bet they look at other ppls YT videos and it doesnt register to them to IMPROVE skills.eye_roll_cringe wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 7:29 pmOmg you’re so right.
I think Mike is pretty narcissistic himself. but his supply comes from being with Tawra.

And ya know what I just thought of? How come YT NEVER seems to invite them to their Creators Conferences?
If they invited Helen, and Grace when they just had 100K subs why isnt LOAD invited?
Did LOAD even get a 100K plaque?
Also, about the Costco thing? Tawra needs to understand that Costco is a LIBERAL store. Sams would be more up their alley.
I wonder if there is a private Q Score rating system for authors and YTers, like there is for Actors, Tv Stars and Musicians.
Ill bet thats why no one seems to do anything with them, like I wonder if they are blacklisted from sponsorships, or offers and stuff.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_Score
I hate to say this cause it seems alienating BUT Tawra? the poorest states in the US, are very rightwing, and the reason they are poor
is because big corporations DO NOT WANT TO INVEST IN THOSE STATES cause of their backwards thinking.
Creative people, have OPEN MINDS. Creativity spawns new ideas, and new ideas spawn JOBS and money.
SO, taking that into account, THAT is the reason you wont get into Costco, cause you are closeminded and PROBLEMATIC.
No company is gonna do biz with a woman who spews false ideas, hate and wishes her gay dad death.
After all APPLE is run by a gay man.

You are so right, Ihatecilantro. If they were offered anything they would jump at the chance to promote more books. They’d probably brag about it to show off to their homesteading circle. But I think YouTube is young and forward-thinking enough to see who’s the real deal and who isn’t.
I was clickbaited into watching a show titled “Jill’s life hacks” - seriously, that woman is a walking list of “what not to do” - I guess if you’re going to take anything from her experience - just do the opposite of everything she’s done! Or else you’ll also be bragging that going from SSDI to SS retirement bumped your income from $500 to $750 a month!!
But I screenshot this picture - look how lovely Jill was. The baby is Tawra. Jill looks so young. I guess life dealt her a crummy hand husband-wise (although we’ll never know the full story), but the results of her parenting are CRAY-CRAY.
