Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
interesting that she posts a video about shopping at Costco. I could've sworn I heard her say one time that a Costco membership was a waste of money. Tawramnesia strikes again

Thank you ihatecilantro!
Regarding LOAD, GetItTogether brought up a good point about the preppers now hating her and that she also pissed off the canners. Does she still have homesteading friends? She seems to piss off all groups. She hates homosexuals (which includes her dad), non-evangelicals (all other forms of Christians are going to Hell, democrats, and more. It may be easier to just name people she likes!
I would like to know more about the mineral right money that she got which allowed for the European vacation. GetItTogether, do you have any answers?

I just dont understand how anyone could hate homosexuals. They are harmless. Hating a homosexual is like hating someone for their haircolor or whether hey are short or tall.Iwasneverhere_0 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 4:54 pm Thank you ihatecilantro!

Lucille Ball (a feminist idol of mine) loved homosexuals.
While Lucille Ball was definitely the product of a more conservative era, she had some pretty progressive views, as is evidenced by her marriage to Desi Arnaz in 1940. But Ball was also forward-thinking when it came to women's liberation, though she personally wasn't active in the movement herself. "They can use my name for equal rights, but I don't get out there and raise hell because I've been so liberated I have nothing to squawk about," she explained in an interview with People. Well, that may be because she steamrolled over any barrier that popped up in front of her, but fair enough.
Ball was also progressive when it came to gay rights and wasn't fazed in the least by people's dating preferences. "It's perfectly all right with me," she proclaimed during the 1980 interview. "Some of the most gifted people I've ever met or read about are homosexual. How can you knock it?"
BTW I wonder what she thinks of black ppl.

You are right there, BUT, going to college isnt just about the book learning.Iwasneverhere_0 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 6:42 am I went to college and there was a lot of people that should not have been there. Mike was likely one of them. I'm sure many of those people got a degree.
Being college educated doesn't automatically make you good at everything. College educated people know that. I really don't understand his world view here that he would make a joke like that.
Its also about those 4 years being away from your parents, and learning who YOU are.
Cooking for yourself, SELF REGULATION. Learning to take care of yourself, Accidentally
bleaching out your vintage Woodstock tshirt cause you dont quite know how to do laundry yet.
The same reasons parents send their kids to summer camp, little league, after school activities.
Its part of Child Development.

Ya, I don't remember about when he said he became a Christian. I think opposites attract and your differences can either feed into each other in a negative way or complement each other. I see this in Mike and Tawra and perhaps she secretly wishes he would stand up to her more and even resents and has no respect for him and sees him as weak because his personality works differently than hers.
Also, I believe they both struggle with insecurity, which is a common issue for many people and also leads to self-centered and toxic behavior.
It is too bad they have a platform to influence others when they are so unhealthy themselves. But I think Tawra loves the attention and sycophantic behavior she gets on the internet while they probably feel simultaneously trapped with their business. It is obvious she has no passion and no extraordinary skill in the realm of food and cooking and burnt out long ago if she ever did have it. It really sucks to feel trapped and makes you feel hopeless. And they both seem extremely trapped in their self-imposed restrictions to me.
NO PASSION!
An authentic cookbook author would have known what Abuelita Chocolate was. They would have a great deal of food knowledge, and a large varied diet.
And they would know how to use a fucking Instant Pot.
Where are the salads? The Veggies? The Hummus, Nuts? Fish?
Where are the Air Fryer recipes?
Vegan recipes?
Just the fact that she told her viewers that she "pretty much eats KETO" (not verbatim) while showing us earlier in that segment the Gluten Free bread and rice she ate made her look MORONIC.
DOES SHE EVER RESEARCH ANYTHING???
What does she do all day?

The people who hate gay people honestly believe that gay people 1) can choose who they are sexually attracted to, 2) know that being gay is wrong, and 3) are too undisciplined to stop this "wrong" behavior.IHateCilantro wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:52 am

That just equals hard times down the road when one of their children/close family members comes out as gay and they have to rectify that situation with someone they actually love.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
There is scientific proof that gay ppl are born that way. However, BOTH the LGB community and Religious community have quashed those studies because they have (what word am I looking for?) controversial implications for both sides.eye_roll_cringe wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 6:55 am

That just equals hard times down the road when one of their children/close family members comes out as gay and they have to rectify that situation with someone they actually love.
If the Christians accept it, then they will have to admit that the Bible is wrong and the LGB community is afraid to accept it cause they worry that employers will use it to discriminate. Some gay ppl are afraid that Christians will screen fetuses or embryos and secretly abort or destroy gay fetuses/embryos.
BTW the science is that scientists have created a computer program that identifies gay ppl from PICTURES from facial features. So that indicates a biological component to homosexuality, AND the Xq28 gene.
Theres more:
In 1996 Blanchard and Professor Tony Bogaert revealed a peculiar phenomenon: the more older brothers a boy has, the greater their chances of being homosexual. This ‘fraternal birth order effect’ meant that each subsequent brother increases the odds of being gay by 33 per cent. An only child has a two per cent chance, but with 10 brothers the odds are over 20 per cent. But why the increasing odds? Blanchard believes it’s related to how a mother’s body protects itself when pregnant with a son.
“There’s only one system in the mother that would have the ‘memory’ to know how many male foetuses she’s previously carried: the immune system,” says Professor Blanchard. According to his theory, a mother’s immune system keeps track of the number of sons she’s already had, producing antibodies to protect her against male-specific proteins entering her bloodstream, which often occurs during childbirth. As the mother’s level of immunisation increases with each son, so too do the chances of variation from typical sexual orientation as, in theory, the mother’s antibodies could cross the placenta and neutralise proteins that her son needs for normal sexual development.

That's really interesting stuff, Ihatecilantro!
As to your question about child support -- I don't remember. Maybe they purposefully didn't say? I remember them saying they didn't sue or pursue legal stuff in other times because they "didn't have enough money to hire a lawyer" but wouldn't child support be a simpler process? I'm sure it's not easy and not fun but most people would at least attempt to ensure their children were adequately provided for. It would be different if she was independently wealthy or re-married and her husband could support the family comfortably. THEN I could understand not pursuing it to save yourself the headache.
Remember when Tawra said had she applied for disability under her dad's credits she would get $2,000 a month? If that's the case, I would think he'd definitely be ordered to pay something child-support wise. It doesn't seem like he lived a destitute life once they split up.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
I first found out about LOAD from 2 of my female family members. They listened to them and would chat about it and so I checked it out. I found Tawra arrogant and annoying. So I didn't watch them for a long time. But eventually I did start watching more of their videos as we were trying to pay off debt and was trying to find motivation from their money-saving videos. It was also fun to join in on the snark with my two female family members after we had watched a video of theirs.
One day I heard Tawra go on and on about how their White Chicken Chili recipe was just SO GOOD and AWARD WINNING and THE BEST. I started to wonder if maybe their recipe was that good and I had been wanting to make White Chicken Chili for a while. So I went to the website to check out the recipe and was not impressed.
First I noticed that all their recipes have stock photos. LAME and a pet peeve because I want to actually see what the real thing looks like and not some glossy bland FAKE stock images they got off the internet. Not very professional! This was one of the first clues that spoke to me about their level of care and professionalism and authenticity in their business. Put stock photos or little graphics of the individual ingredients, but I find it very disingenuous and dishonest to use stock photo images for the ENTIRE finished product that aren't the actual product from their recipe! As I said, LAME and MISLEADING!
The recipe looked ok, but not like anything special and I was not impressed. I like to cook and eat most foods in moderation with a bent towards being healthy. So I avoid excessive fat, sugar, calories, fake and overly-processed ingredients. I still like food that tastes good though and have found I can tweak and lower and cut things out to accomplish more of a balance towards making it healthier without sacrificing taste.
Their recipe called for chicken breast-cubed, but I thought pulled chicken would taste much better. I also thought the 1/4 cup cornstarch and heavy cream added unnecessary fat and calories and left them out. It already called for sour cream anyway. And beans thicken things up rather well and sure enough, my result was plenty thick. I tweaked it a little bit more, took out a little something and added some additional spices and ingredients and my result was so delicious, fresher and healthier than their "BEST" one.
So that really showed me Tawra's tendency to over-hype and brag about her recipes and products. This also showed me that it would not be worth buying any of their cookbooks or products because they wouldn't be THE BEST as she brags. If I could improve the health, freshness and taste of her "BEST!" and "AWARD-WINNING" recipe that easily, I knew their stuff was not worth my time and money.
I believe she just BRAGS and HYPES up their products to push product and get on to the "growing rich" part of things. At least that is how it comes across to me. It seems obvious that she is trying to build herself an empire on a topic and mediocre product that she has no passion or talent for. (The tons of additional cookbooks in a short amount of time, the generic-looking aprons, the planner, etc. etc.) I think all her true passion is for being in charge, fooling the public, being right and the best about everything, getting her ego constantly stroked, getting attention and making MOOLA! And she seems to prefer to do it by suckering the public and getting Mike, her virtual assistants and her Mom to do all the real work.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
According to Jill and Tawra, George --her father, did not pay child support. Jill said he didn't have money at the time and I don't thing she went after him legally. However, the story is a bit confusing, because Jill also said her and George remained friends and he was over often after the divorce. So, was he a deadbeat or not? I think the real story is somewhere in the middle.
Later they said they did not agree with his choices or some dumb way they put it. She made some cry baby video about an estranged parent that passes away. He was a gay man and I do not believe for a minute he rejected being with his kids, it was their own doctrine that kept them from enjoying their dad. Who knows what she was really crying about in that ridiculous video. Really it looked like a pity party for herself and not really any grief or remorse.

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
I've been rewatching older videos and their story is so confusing! Probably because they do try to cover things up. Jill and George were separated for a while while in Kansas (not sure if this was a couple years or something) and George still worked on the business and came over to help around the house. Then after George was in counseling for a little, Jill sent the kids to George's parents or for a week and Jill and George had their make-or-break convo about the marriage. After that, they decided to divorce and Jill moved to Springfield, Colorado shortly thereafter. This was when they lived in the house George's grand-parents had for the missionaries.
I don't know if they ever lived near enough for them to really interact much with their Dad (regularly) after that. Eventually he moved to the East coast. At some point Jill, Tawra, and David moved back to Kansas to the decrepit old house, right? -- Because didn't they get sick AFTER all of this?
This is from the Penny Pinching Mama "how Jill moved on $35 video."
It's probably the most interesting one to me but it's fairly short. I just watched this today as background noise. It's crazy how these decisions Jill made altered everything for the family. I hate to criticize her because she believes God told her to go to be near her in-laws -- even though they were not a good support system and there wasn't a good job for her. The alternative would have been to live in her parents' basement, have a good full-time job with benefits, her kids grow up with loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Can you imagine how life would have been different for Tawra and David if that had been the case??? They probably would never have gotten sick, and I'd think wouldn't be such hateful people as they became. For whatever reason (Jill says God's message to her via multiple avenues), Jill made them live around hateful family in the middle of nowhere. They probably sat around and complained about George, the in laws, the world, etc. Makes perfect sense!!

Re: Living On A Dime | Part Two
Does anyone remember that Tawra said something about her father falling into being around people who were a bad influence on him? I think it was in the strange and awkward crying video she did where she invaded their privacy in a round about way while trying to obsfucate the truth of what really happened. It was weird. To me, it came across as she wanted to get all the attention and pity and play the victim while not getting into the truth. I also think if many of the viewers knew even a part of the truth they would turn against her and so that's why she has to talk about it in such a generic yet strangely personal way.eye_roll_cringe wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 1:26 pm I've been rewatching older videos and their story is so confusing! I think believing and telling others that "God tells you to do something" can be one of the biggest potential forms of evil there is. It's used to shut people down and bypass common-sense and gut instinct and bestow an authority on someone's words and decisions that can be misguided, wrong and even dangerous. I've had personal experience with this and am now leery of that kind of thinking and it rings big red alarm bells for me!

I think the bad influencers were like the normal people. George ended up marrying a well respected professional so his bad influences were educated people?
