I think the bad influencers were like the normal people. George ended up marrying a well respected professional so his bad influences were educated people?

That's the impression that I get- he got away from the narrow fundie background and church he was the music pastor for and met less judgmental and better educated people. Just my guess, anyway.

I was going through the older videos trying to find where Jill said how her and her ex were friends and everyone thought they were still married. ..anyway, it reminded me of what I liked about them. They were talking about the rachel ray 30 minute meals and how exhausting that is.

I agree. I was stuck in a rut of coming home from work, thinking I needed to make some restaurant meal for my family after a full work and part time graduate school day--and my ex expected it too. At that time, I did needed to hear that having that expectation was crazy.

But then, the message starts to break because the messanger is as important as the message once they become someone you follow...none of us expect perfection. We do want you to consider other walks of life. That is something she is not capable of doing.

Then there is the other lies and bullshit we have discussed here so they are a tangles web of b.s. but it was almost refreshing to see why I was sucked in in the first place.

I'm pretty sure they had a live Q&A video answering a bunch of horrified questions (rightly so) about what they said George did to them. I remember Jill, Tawra, and Mike sitting at their dining room table giving more context to their Penny Pinching Mama stories. I can't find it now so I wonder if they privated it. I can't imagine how difficult it was for her dad to work through years of closemindedness and hateful teaching. Everyone was against him - his parents, his wife/children, his church. I'd imagine that was tough to deal with while trying to be a parent so I'm sure he made a lot of mistakes. I just can't take everything they say at face value though - whether that be their nasty recipes dressed up with stock images or these crazy stories. Nothing "normal" ever happens to them. It's always the craziest, hardest, worst, saddest, etc. imaginable.

Good point -- I assumed his parents were against his homosexuality because they have been described as very cold and strict. Maybe they were in the beginning. Becoming accepting and welcoming over time (however long it takes) shows humility and true caring.

I would love them to do a net worth video where they explain all their assets. But that won’t happen because their idea of rich only makes sense in their mind. I think Heidi said Tawra values the business at $1M? Only if someone would pay them that!! That video was stupid because it’s only for the people who follow them and anyone who doesn’t know them and watches it will be confused/weirded out.

She might not sell any Chinese or Korean printed books in a month, but the US government sends her a check no matter what. Besides that, all her “wealth” is in a home that they haven’t yet sold. Yes, their market seems good and like it will stay that way, but you never know. That’s why the old saying is to not keep all your eggs in one basket - that means don’t keep all your money in one asset, Tawra. Retirement accounts are needed like yesterday.

Again the worst (well, maybe not THE worst) decision they have ever made was YouTube Lives.. They should have stuck with educational videos and also nixed the Penny Pinching Momma story too.
In my opinion, it was just too many lies stacked on lies. Too many holes in all their stories.
All the poor money decisions, The SAHM living on Mikes film co. income story, the PHOBIAS, the narcissism, the hating on and criticizing other YouTubers/Authors, the hobbling of their kids, the hating on education, the admitting they take recipes from the internet, Canning and Prepping Hate, on and on.
No self awareness.

AND not only do they have no self awareness, BUT they dont do any introspection after they get criticized and make changes.

I feel sorry for ppl who cant absorb knowledge nor want to learn. And I feel sorry for Dave, especially. His consistent parroting of his Parents and esp. Tawra! OMG hes gonna get out into the real world and he will be in for a rude awakening.

BTW Tawra, you are not only limiting your kids right now by not pushing college and making sure your kids get educations/trade/degrees, but NOW the big thing is STEM. Most successful parents are getting their kids into STEM classes, because most jobs in the future will be STEM based.

I really hope that as these kids leave home and get out into the world, that they dont get anyone pregnant or in the case of Elly I hope she doesnt get pregnant, BEFORE they are able to change their thinking and unravel the damaging indoctrination. Cause then their FUN LIFE ADVENTURES are over and they will be stuck working at Walmart or Dominoes or some menial labor job to pay child support and hating their lives.

Tawra? you are being given a gift. You are getting tons of great advice, FREE ADVICE. You cannot sustain the way you are going. FFS, you are getting DEATH THREATS from the canning or prepper community! Eventually you will alienate most of your fans.

There is no way someone would buy out their business for $1M or even close to that! Their cookbook is pretty amateur, has limited appeal and has been around a long time so it doesn't have much growth potential. And you would still have to market and push the cookbook to even make sales.

Their youtube channel is worth nothing to someone else because it is all based around Tawra and her mother and and their bossy and know-it-all personalities and train wreck of a story. I used to watch when Mike would host, and while he did a much better job with the cooking and being prepared and was perfectly nice, he's just not bossy and controversial and came across as kinda boring compared to Tawra's rants, mistakes, complaining and invasions into their own privacy and other cringiness. Though I found Tawra boring near the end of when I stopped watching their channel and I hear she's been pretty boring since.
