Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
I feel like they do not know their children at all.
Part of giving gifts is the idea of trying to find something that fits the receiver. The water colors would have been better fit for Abby, not Shari. I know Kevin likes Harry Potter and he has read it with the children but that was years ago. Why wouldn't he try to find some treats that each kid personally likes. Oh well, he must not know their taste preferences.
Personalizing the gift is much better than buying generic stuff. Shari already spoke about passing one of the gifts on in future

The kids gifts were really good, especially since a few vlogs back Ruby openly said its the thought not the execution and i wont be helping you work it out.
Also I have to question, if the kids know what among us is, are they playing on the at home computers/ laptops or do they have phones now? and know they talked about the game will ruby look and say that isn't godly enough or remove it I wonder as a f'ed up punishment.
I was surprised that grandma Franke's heart attack was mentioned so fleetingly like- she had a heart attack, but the main point is she sent the gifts- not she's in hospital were all worried but the doctors say she will be ok or something on those lines.
Finally the video of the gifts was so chaotic- but of course Xmas morning is another video and probably will have another for what the kids got for xmas and boxing chill day vlog and milking the views for all its worth. I wonder when they 'officially' go back to school? and when the homeschool will start again- I think if Ruby was smart she would give the homeschool kids some fun but educational toys they can play with together, to break up ruby doo school, and that will actually be used. and i think they probably have go watercolours for Abby and Julie as well.

Since her gifts had problems (by her admission), Shari decided not to saying anything about her siblings gifts! They all did a great job, especially Julie! Maybe she should do some stuff to sell on Etsy like Kevin I think suggested.thenightowl wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 9:49 pm I was so impressed with the homemade gifts, Julie's was so sweet and I thought even Eve did a great job. I was waiting for Shari to make a sarcastic comment on her siblings gifts but I'm glad she didn't.

And they are still confused about the "heart attack". Even Jennifer says she didn't have one. What I got from the explanation was that she had changes on her EKG that could have been caused by a heart attack, so they had her do a stress test which was fine. She had kidney stones and had a stent placed for that, not a coronary artery stent.
But these people are clueless and love to raise the ante for drama. And in any case, Ruby is right that Shari is a "selfish twit", but not for the reason she gave. But she is the way Ruby raised her, so if she wants to know why, she needs to look in the mirror.

Holy cow, Julie and Abby are seriously gifted! Those drawings they did were amazing and also the little clay characters they did. All of them, really, made such nice creative gifts. Abby and Julie should start an Esty shop... but I'd be worried all the profits they make on it would probably mysteriously disappear in the same manner that Shari's money did.
The parents gifts, on the other hand, you can tell waaayyyy less thought went into those gifts than the amazing gifts the kids did. A pocket knife for a seven year old? Really? And the one she gave Chad was a literal dagger. What the hell would he use that for? Like, are they expecting a zombie apocalypse now or what? Then Kevin giving them each a bag of marbles that they'll either never use or probably lose immediately. And candy from the BYU candy shop. Can't even be bothered to go somewhere or order something special online. He probably only got them stuff because he probably gets a faculty discount there, otherwise I doubt there would have been any gifts from him.

Did grandma Frankie have a heart attack it sounded like Shari said that.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 8:42 am And they are still confused about the "heart attack". Also Ruby called Abby a selfish Twit.
It was regarding Abby throwing her too small of shoes Ruby got her because Abby said she didn’t know what she wanted for Christmas that year.

Shari got art supplies even though she said shes not into painting or anything at all.
I really hope Abby & Julie got some and not just a bunch of stuff kids their age dont really care about.

Ruby called Abby the “selfish twit”, not Shari. (Not that that makes it any better/worse)lmmomSD wrote:And they are still confused about the "heart attack". Even Jennifer says she didn't have one. And it was Grandma Franke who had the heart attack, not Grandma Griffith (Jennifer)

Grandma Franke, Kevin's mom, did have a heart attack, her second one. I think she has stents from the past heart attack and they may have put more in there with the current heart attack. On Jennifer, it was mainly Bonnie trying to say she had a heart attack.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 8:42 am And they are still confused about the "heart attack". Does anyone know why she keeps freeze drying all these foods? It seems disgusting to me.

I just assumed Shari meant Jennifer because they mention other grandparents so little. Kevin comes from a big family as well, doesn't he? But they never mention aunts, uncles or cousins.
Ellie mentioned Jenn having a heart attack as well. She went on about how she was so wonderful bringing her mom bone broth and crackers in bed, once again making someone else's ailment all above her.

Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
Kevin isn't from a big family. His parents, Don and Shari, are like the Brady Bunch.
From Standard-Examiner:
"Donald was born October 3, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Walter and Charlotte Franke and was raised in Salt Lake City with five siblings. He attended South High School in Salt Lake City, graduating in 1952. He attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, receiving his BSEE degree from the University of Utah. He also received an MSEE degree from UCLA. He served two years in the U.S. Army.
On October 14, 1952 he married Cora Evans in Pacific Grove, California. They were the parents of five children: Donald Bryan (Lori) of West Jordan; Kathleen Ogden (Ward) of Ogden; Alan Wade (Cindy) of Farr West; Eileen Whetman (Vance) of Cedar City and Aaron Michael (Jennifer) of Cedar Hills. Don and Cora were later divorced. He married Shari Humpherys Clark on October 4, 1977 at Ogden, Utah. They had a son together, Dr. Kevin William (Ruby) of Springville. He also has a stepson, Chris Richard Clark (Nancy) of Harrisville. In addition to his seven children, he has 36 grandchildren (two deceased) and 16 great-grandchildren.
Following graduation from the University of Utah, Don worked for Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle, Washington and for the U.S. Navy and Air Force and 17 years with TRW.
He is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in many teaching and leadership capacities throughout his life. He also served as a temple ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple prior to its renovation. He is currently serving as a counselor in a Branch Presidency. He has enjoyed singing and has participated in ward and stake choirs through most of his life. He has also sung with several quartets and vocal groups for a number of years, his favorite being The Sounds of Music."

Ruby’s explanation for why Costco didn’t send her mashed potatoes: “there must be lots of other women ordering them”. Because men don’t do food shopping, you know..
It’s scary to think kids are still brought up in this environment.

What kind of mass worldly apocalypse are they thinking may happen, Cleary one like in the movies where the world turns to molten lava and there's some mass world destruction and humanity is wiped out- basically unlikely to happen.
I don't think that pasta and lasagne is going to freeze dry and will end like the potato's mess as half frozen wet mash. The pasta is so moist and the lasagne is literally stacked with eggs, tomato and cheeses. if that is heated via the freeze drying machine it would just turn into a mess.
Also the kids were upset she took the leftover banana bred and ham. maybe that's cause they want to eat it and your awful meals are too tiny to fill them. she truly is a moron! there's something called a fridge and a freezer where you can store food for days or weeks if you don't want to eat it there and then, fresh food doesn't go off instantly because you didn't eat it in one day.
Further the yogurt is pro biotic but by freeze drying ( aka heating and removing all moisture)she's basically killed any and all living bacteria so its now just yogurt. I've seen people freeze drying canned stuff as well as milk so at least she isn't that mad yet- but watch this space..

Utterly baffled by this. - Probably some mormon church indoctrinated global famine/war scare.Wonderfreedom123 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:12 am What kind of mass worldly apocalypse are they thinking may happen, Cleary one like in the movies where the world turns to molten lava and there's some mass world destruction and humanity is wiped out- basically unlikely to happen.
