I am still questioning how do they provide income for their family. They no longer have a viable YouTube channel, a few brand deals, Bollie that couldn't support two families, and IG, but what is Jared doing now? I saw on Twitter Jared was asking people questions about Linkedin. Jared's Linkedin listed only -> E+J Production and his BYU education so I don't think the one interview he had months ago (wearing shorts), resulted in a job offer.
I do see one .com site they have, but with the books he co-authored with his dad, he has it under Ellie and Jared Books. It isn't an impressive site if he is trying to move into Web design? I can't imagine Jared's parents not being concern with this move to St. George and just the lack of Jared having a steady job.

I remember a time at work when I was sick w/ a cold or flu. I called in sick and was guilted so hard into coming in because they ‘needed’ me.
After being asked by 3 managers to come in, I (bitterly) did. Worked with customers for a few min. Then laid on the floor in the back
I did this for as long as I could and eventually went back home feeling way worse than when I arrived (and probably got others sick).
It’s just so crazy to me that even last year this was expected in the workplace.
I hope going forward it’s different.

Nice of Jared to get himself a 3D printer and a Playstation 5 and wrap it for the boys as if it was actually them who wanted those... the boys hardly knew what a PS5 was and didn't seem excited at all about it. There is no difference to them between PS4 and 5, they are young and the games are all just games regardless, that present is entirely for Jared.

Their views are TANKING. They got 20 million views per month in early 2018, and they aren't even making a million views per month now. Ruby is down to 6 million views per month. They all peaked in early 2018.

I was wondering the same thing. I have heard contract work is taking much longer with covid-19 due to taking safety measures for the workers, though. I wouldn't be surprised if they're on a waiting list to have theirs started at this point. Plus the holiday season is probably pushing it back even more.

Price of construction wood has gone sky high. BIL was telling us during holiday a sheet of plywood used to be $13, and now it's $56. Lots of builders are on hold because they can't build a house they quoted one price for months ago, and then have costs for materials doubled. I suspect that is the hold up. Factories were shut down due to COVID and still catching up.

Their Christmas vlog came out a few days ago and still doesn’t have 100k views (Jared will fix that though). I hope Jared has found himself another job because 3 or 4 vlogs a month with poor views aren’t going to pay the bills.

In this new video it is glaringly obvious to me that Ellie and Jared and supposedly their fans think Ellie is in such a better place now, she’s happy, she’s got it all figured out - but to me she looks like a manic mess, still on the brink of meltdown. That impression is both from videos and Instagram. What exactly are people seeing in her that seems better than before? Do they all think that all she needed was warmer weather and all her problems have gone away? She seems seriously messed up to me.

That impression is both from videos and Instagram. What exactly are people seeing in her that seems better than before? Do they all think that all she needed was warmer weather and all her problems have gone away? She seems seriously messed up to me.

In her defense, I moved from the NE to the SE for warmer weather. I also downsized. My husband and I left both of our parents. However, we have retired and our kids are settling in the south for warmer weather. I feel Ellie was running from something. I know people have touched on it, but I just feel the whole Griffith family is about to implode and Ellie and Jared decided to get out of the way of the fall out. Unfortunately they did not move far enough as they are all on SM. Bonnie always looks like she is about to crumble. I would to if I were married to Joel. Ruby has been in the spotlight for her treatment of her kids. Something happened with Beau's family. Julie just plods along. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next 12-18 mos with these characters. I feel for all of the minors involved.

I think E&J moved because they were running from reality. This has happened with so many YTers this year due to the decrease in income. A move helps them save face when they have to change their lifestyle.

Oh, moving for warmer weather seems totally reasonable and pretty common, I can understand that. But I think Ellie thinks that the warmer weather will fix all her problems, including her physical and mental health and her satisfaction with her entire lifestyle. I think she's wrong about that part and that this is a temporary fix, then she will be on to the next thing. And for Ellie and Jared to say that "even the FANS notice how happy Ellie is!!!" doesn't mean anything because we are seeing her through a fake social media lens, and even if she's happy now, it hasn't been very long. Her life will go back to reality and she won't be happy. She gets to be building a house now which is all fun and new, but soon she'll be living in it and her life will go back to being stagnant and unfulfilling and her eyes will hurt again when Tommy enters the room.

It's perfectly reasonable to move to warmer weather and expect it to solve _some_ of your problems, like seasonal affective disorder, or arthritis that gets worse in the cold. But Ellie (and her fans apparently) believe it will solve all of her problems. Even Jared buys into this. He's posted about the beach being her "happy place". The beach is a LOT of people's happy place. Most people are there on vacation, and even for those of us who live near the beach, it's usually a day off when we're there. But moving to the beach isn't going to solve most people's problems.
Moving isn't going to change anything, really, because Ellie refuses to admit that maybe her own issues are at the bottom of her problems. She doesn't really want to be a mom, she doesn't love Jared the way a wife should, and she is a label-whore with no real taste or class. All that matters is the appearance of perfection, and it's Jared's job to provide her with the things she wants. She comes by it honestly. Her mom is the same way, and raised her sisters to be that way too.
I wonder if she wasn't so much escaping the Griffiths as trying to isolate Jared from his support. Without his parents to back him up, her crazy gets normalized.
