Abby used to be so pretty when she was younger. She should start wearing her hair down and maybe get some highlights. I find it strange that she has been wearing her glasses full time because surely she would only have a low prescription as this is the first time she’s needed them? Unless she’s never been to the opticians until now which is pretty terrible if she’s got bad enough eyes to wear them full time

Did anyone notice people have been uploading edits of their videos like crazy lately? I feel so bad for the kids. Like there are even ones like "Russell crying". Ruby IS exploiting her children, but the person uploading a video like that is doing exactly the same thing and just making it worse for the kids

What was Chad's gift that everyone was screaming over. I couldn't tell what it was. What was the little speech at the end of the vlog about-about how changes had been made that people didn't like?
Wonder where her answer questions on IG went? lol

I thought it was jerky or something, sounded like he said low chrones. Subtitle didn't even pick it up with everyone screaming either.sheltiefan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:11 pm What was Chad's gift that everyone was screaming over. I couldn't tell what it was. That whole vlog was just embarrassing to watch. It's like they are trying to become the Mormon version of Leave it to Beaver.....they have become unwatchable.

She's in that unfortunate awkward stage. I have almost no photos of me from that time because I felt like I looked hideous (not saying Abby is) and didn't want to be reminded in the future. Poor her that she has it stuck on the internet forever.Randomrandomer wrote:Abby used to be so pretty when she was younger. She should start wearing her hair down and maybe get some highlights. How sad neither Russell nor Eve got any toys. I see they got scooters but wonder if they are what they asked for or what Kevin and Ruby felt getting for them.

The present that Chad got was a box full of Love Crunch it’s the gernoal that Ruby likes. If you listen closing he says that’s a lot of Love Crunch.

Haha I just received a photo of 14 year old me from camp. Even 41 years later I still cringe at how I resembled a gremlin. My husband asked what was wrong with me? Braces, bad 70's hair, and you name it; it was wrong with me. I was a late bloomer thank goodness I am not the gremlin gal anymore.Highlighter wrote:She's in that unfortunate awkward stage. Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
Jesus, you'd think Shari was moving to Antarctica with the dramatic 'break-up letter' and the "This is my last Christmas with my family" Instagram post. Even if Ruby does lock her out of the house when she turns 18, she's going to BYU, lol, not another country. I'm a mixture of annoyed at her for being dramatic and a bit concerned that she seems to think she'll never, ever see her family again because she's going to a college right next to home that her dad works at.
I wonder if they'll let the kid's show off what they got for Christmas in a separate video. Could barely see anything the way they filmed it. The only thing that stood out was how Chad got Love Crunch for Christmas because it's too good of food for him to have the rest of the year, apparently. I don't understand what Ruby's obsession with Love Crunch is anyway. Lol, you can get it at Wal-mart for like 3 bucks, it's literally just granola, chocolate, and berries. Like what's the deal that the kids aren't allowed to have it besides as a Christmas gift?

Well if she repeats her mom and her aunts lives, this may be her last Christmas if she were to get married at 18. I am about 99.99% sure that won't happen. Shari is more intelligent and focused on school. However, if she gets a serious boyfriend who does in her every move she could change her tune. I can't tell if she ever had a hand holding affectionate boyfriend. I don't think she's supposed to, but teens are teens and you never know what goes on!rulatows000 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 3:29 pm Jesus, you'd think Shari was moving to Antarctica with the dramatic 'break-up letter' and the "This is my last Christmas with my family" Instagram post. Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
It's so crazy to me how much kitchen stuff Shari has collected for college. BYU must have much nicer accommodation than where I went - we had to live on campus for 3 years with either no kitchen or a tiny crappy one to share with too many people. Also she seems to be under the impression that college is going to be her introduction to real life or adult life or something... usually that is not the case, as most colleges are a total bubble cut off from all of reality, which was the case for me and my friends and I've certainly heard that BYU is the same way!
Kevin seriously pisses me off when he opens his ugly mouth. Nice way to end a christmas video, having him say "you're wrong" to all the viewers. Arrogant pompous asshole. So glad they feel peace in their toxic, manipulative environment. He's hardly part of that family so what would he know.

If I were Shari I would be feeling pretty sad knowing I'm not welcome in my parents home. The way she talks she will never take part in another Christmas morning with her siblings and parents, wtf? I won't be surprised if this is how Ruby expects it too, but how sad. My children are young adults and two live away but are single; however they make every attempt to be back home for Christmas Eve and spend the night, and this is how anybody else I know with young adult single children are too. I know this will change once/if they have families of their own, but how lonely for Shari. I guess Shari is no longer worthy and welcome until she has children.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 3:29 pm Jesus, you'd think Shari was moving to Antarctica with the dramatic 'break-up letter' and the "This is my last Christmas with my family" Instagram post. Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
First of all, when you live on campus they close down for Christmas break. Is she not going to be able to live at their house during that time? They also close for spring break and various other reasons. Is she expected to live in her car? When I was in college and also when my older kids were there, we were not allowed to have anything electrical in our dorms for safety reasons. The only exception was a mini-fridge and that had to be approved. I suppose she could be living off campus but I doubt it.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 3:29 pm Jesus, you'd think Shari was moving to Antarctica with the dramatic 'break-up letter' and the "This is my last Christmas with my family" Instagram post. Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
In todays video Chad got significantly less then everyone else. A lot of the gift that the other kids got were basically gifts for home schooling. The bed should not be a christmas gift as that is a basic necessity. At least chad has job where he can earn money now. I think that Ruby really hates chad as everyone else got a bunch of games, books, coloring books and things for home schooling while chad just got a mini fridge, some food, som3e drawings, bedding items and some books. I think he might be getting less than everyone else as revenge for not doing home school like the other kids.

Does Ruby not know that the pencils she got Eve were around when she was younger?? I’m not that much younger than she is. I’m a year old then Bonnie.

Re: 8 Passengers: No beds, no food, but mom loves motherhood! | Part 18
I don't like how much homeschooling stuff Ruby bought for 'gifts' for the kids. Yes, it looks like fun stuff and the kids liked it, but I guess I just feel there needs to be a separation from schooling and other occasions. Children should have a right to be educated, without having to trade in Christmas gifts to pay for it. As someone who was homeschooled I know I wouldn't like if every birthday and Christmas gifts had to go towards homeschooling and every trip has to be about homeschooling, and there was just really no break from it. Ruby's 'everything is a part of homeschooling' just seems like it would create resentment in the kids toward their education. Also, did Abby say that the most difficult part of 2020 was, "Leaving school"? I couldn't really hear what she said, but it sounded like that. I think the kids are starting to slowly show that they're really not enjoying it as much as Ruby pretends they do.
The gifts the kids got were pretty nice, overall. Every year I feel like there's not enough toys or clothes, though. Especially for the four older ones, I feel that clothes would be their favorite gifts if they got any. Besides a pair of shoes for Abby and Julie, and a jacket for Shari, none of them got nice clothes. Poor Chad had to buy his own Christmas gift of track spikes. Eve and Russell got the Mopeds and some Legos, but not any cute stuffed animals, Barbie's, actions figures, cars, etc. I also really don't get the mini fridges in the kids' rooms. Just seems like an impractical expensive gift that probably won't be used much. Chad and Russell just had water in theirs.
Julie mentioned that she was interested in nursing and Ruby right away brings up how she could be a midwife. Must be sad to have a mother who is so convinced that the only job a woman can have is either assisting in or participating in childbirth.
