I rewatched their embryo video... They didn't say what they plan on doing with the Turner Syndrome video, but that baby would end up being infertile later on... so she'll be passing down her biggest struggle to her baby too. Not that that's any reason not to transfer it, I just found that kind of sad

This may sound bad, but I feel like that would be one of the few reasons they would decide not to transfer it. I thought Cassie’s medical issues would make them decide not to have another baby but obviously I was wrong about that. I really hope I’m wrong and they decide not to transfer it because the survival chance is very low and will cause her more health issues in the future, but idk. Fertility is obviously very important for them so I could see them deciding not to transfer it because “God says to multiply, and this child won’t be able to do that”
Or because she’s a girl, cause ya know, the idea of four girls are their worst nightmare.

I think Alex was showing some resentment towards Phil before Cassidy was conceived. However I thought that she will forget that and be grateful of Cassidy. Obviously I was wrong. That is so sad. And so narcissistic, Denying her own fertility issues and blaming it all on Phil.
Oh she absolutely blames and resents Phil for this. Even though she has her own infertility issues, she’s turned to a new narrative of “my body knows what to do, if I just had some healthy sperm I would be able to do it”.

And while granted, some of Phil’s infertility might be linked to being overweight, it likely isn’t 100% because of that, so it probably isn’t something he can fix. Although if he were my husband, I think I’d be at least a little upset if he hasn’t lost the weight to try to have a baby.

But regardless... The goal post has moved again. Not only does she want a giant family and an opportunity to be pregnant and give birth, now she needs to have a “natural” pregnancy, and a boy.

I do wonder what aspect of biology is important to her, and if she would try donor sperm... the baby would still be “hers” and she could prove once and for all it was Phil’s “fault” that they couldn’t get pregnant without IVF. I don’t know how much she cares if Phil is the bio dad, as long as her magical unicorn DNA is in the baby. I wonder if that will be the step taken after they use their embryos... or if they’d even just do it super hush-hush and pretend she magically got pregnant naturally.

There are so many unsavoury options they could take here. No way they want a child with Turner's Syndrome, but I wouldn't put it past them to transfer the embryo and pretend they are amazing Christian parents wanting to give that child a chance, but then secretly withhold the progesterone to ensure it fails to implant.

Similarly, they might also secretly transfer the boy embryo, and then claim it's a natural pregnancy.

It's hard to predict with these two crazies.

I also wouldn't put it past Alex to use a donor sperm to cut Phil out entirely in the next cycle. Removes the male factor infertility and whatever weird genetic disorder he has. Worth noting that these two things are often connected....

I don’t remember turner syndrome ever being mentioned. Would you be so kind to let me know what video that was mentioned in.

The baby is having trouble falling asleep so they just...stay up? I have NEVER just decided to get up and walk around the house with my babies and especially wouldn’t at 8 (is that what she is?) months old. If she’s having trouble getting her to sleep, you continue rocking, nursing, whatever it is that helps her to sleep in the place where she sleeps. Set the expectation that it’s time to sleep and have a routine. Deciding to do something or not do something based on a baby’s whims is plain dumb. I can’t believe she’s had 2 other children.

They have 3 kids why is she crying like she has empty arms. And the baby is still so little. Enjoy it enjoy being the “real” mom you always wanted. I thought they were happy when they just had Kinsley. If it’s not one thing it’s another just be happy and enjoy your life. They just complain complain complain.

Where do Phil and Alex get this idea that you have to "learn how to be pregnant"? They've both said it multiple times in the past and it's so weird. Your body doesn't have to learn, it already knows what to do. And besides, pregnancy was never the issue for them; conceiving a healthy embryo is.

You know how she keeps dropping the Our Hidden Homestead. I just read that Emily of The Hidden Way passed away just before Christmas. Noticed Alex follows that page. Wonder how much else is similar - home schooling - 4 kids .,

I noticed that attempt to rebrand... hidden homestead, please. she can’t even bring her selfish arse to getting a dog, a dog that would make Philip less depressed (not sorry) and would bring so much joy into the girls life.
This dream will be abandoned and half arsed just like the RV community outpreach mission.

And the best part is that Alex is going to stand from her window of her turnkey homestead house filled with mass-produced IG-worthy decorations and furniture, and teach us how to be sustainable and how to lead a homesteading life. You guys, Alex is gonna teach us! We should all be so grateful! Because she knows everything about everything!

They have forced themselves into a corner of having to re-brand because they are not identifiable at all as being the 'poster children' of infertility and adoption any more. They have three beautiful children, and they still aren't happy; The bio child is clearly seen as superior to the two adopted ones; and Philip's loud and forceful 'HARD NO' to a further embryo transfer if it's a girl shows how out of touch with their original supporters that they now are.

I think that was the point of Alex's pathetic pregnancy test video. She knew she wasn't pregnant. We knew she wasn't pregnant. But there she went, pissing as moaning about "This is the pain of infertility!" Even though she's a mother of 3 and literally gave birth half a year ago. She's desperately trying to stay relevant.

At last I have been able to get back onto this site to reply, though I have been watching since my new computer would not accept my passwords. I cannot believe Phil and Alex, what a performance, worthy of an Oscar in UK! The homesteading bit infuriates me, it is no more a homestead than my garden, Alex in overalls, just makes me laugh. I see that they are following Justin Rhodes on You Tube, well they will have a long way to go to arrive at his setup, but knowing them, their help will be given by both parents, and I assume that the extension they are building will enable at least one set of parents to stay more comfortably than they are. Pam seems to be around still.

They are an accident waiting to happen.

Kinsley's once beautiful hair has been almost ruined by not being cared for properly.

Little Cassidy is a sweetie, hopefully she will not inherit her parents' loud screechy voices, or her father's imbecilic laugh. Phil's "Hello Campers" bit is false, they merely dipped their toes into camping.

Rant over, and I am so pleased to be able to post on YTMD.

Their homesteading dream is so ridiculous. I was barley able to watch it. You can throw all the money in the world at it and be as natural as you want and still fail because you don’t dedicate enough time, love or energy to it. I hope they don’t get any more animal because they would suffers so badly with these to idiots running the show. Oh and traveling while having a full blown homestead is more ore less impossible. Obviously their parents would do the work but man I just wanted to kick Alex in her stupid smug city slicker face when she kept rambling and the overalls look hideous.

Just to add a few comments on the "homestead" adventure. Alex buying overall and other gear to work outside - I spent my holidays on my aunt's farm, the men wore trousers and jackets which had seen better days. Admittedly nowadays farmers do buy overalls for their work, but Alex being a townie should either follow Justin Rhodes and other homesteaders closely, without putting her own spin on things.

As has been said pity the animals, which will be treated as pets, and that is not what homesteading is all about.

They seem to be following other families - This Gathered Nest, with their caravan trip, and the Hollars, the latter now homesteading and working hard, something these two know nothing about. I will be intrigued if they do begin to eat their own hens - Alex plucking and drawing them, with Kinsley and Calley a few inches from the bird!

And again, where is all the money coming from for the new clothes, the extension, etc? I cannot imagine the amount of fuel they spent "living" in the RV.
