I don’t get why she thinks she needs hunter boots and a carhart overall. hunter boots are not the best choice for gardening etc and her overalls will never get dirty anyway because she doesn’t do jacks hit of actual work. She will also learn that they can be highly impractical when you have to run inside to go pee...they are obviously awesome for men(not that Philip would ever pee standing up)
I have a pair of overalls that I use but trust me it’s a not as practical as it seems

If homesteading is P&A's aim, they would not have time for posing for You Tube, it would be hard work like the Hollars, Justin Rhodes, and Life goes North to name but a few. Sad really.

I was given a pair of Hunter wellies, they were not particularly comfortable, and no longer exist. I wear cheap wellies, which are ideal for at present going down the muddy garden with my dog. My husband wore overalls for heavy work, the sort that had press studs up the front, not attractive, but practical, and covered in paint and oil, not pristine at all!

I'm still waiting for Phil to tap some maple syrup w that contraption he built.Idk if that's a common way to do it (?) or maybe just cheap,but it looks like something MacGuyver rigged up.I still feel like I'm watching the Beverly Hillbillies in reverse.
On second thought.I think I'll go chase down Robert Verdi and catch an episode of Surprise by Design.I'm just that surprised by that design Phil jury rigged to tap the trees.LOL

I find it totally unnecessary for them to tap a 1 single maple tree. The ratio of sap to syrup is 40:1 so let’s say they get so one gallon of sap (128fl oz) they would get 3.2oz of syrup. So let’s say they get 5 gallons....that would make 16oz of syrup +/-....so is that worth it? I have never made syrup from sap but from sugar cane and that stuff takes a long time to cook and stir etc....Alex doesn’t even cook unless it’s in the instant pot or a Costco meal...how in the hell is she expecting to make maple syrup. I have felt bad for the animals they have but now I am officially feeling bad for the trees as well. I hope that maple gives them didly squat.

Oh and why not buy the proper spout and bucket for the tapping...there is proper equipment for a freaking reason...tried and tested but now Philip thinks he can reinvent stuff....from the look of that tube and my “knowledge of trees” the sap will clog that right up...has Philip ever looked at sap....that shit is sticky...very sticky...but hey....common sense disn’t their strong suit

Why does anyone want makeup tips from Alex? 30 minutes is fast guess this is why the girls get themselves ready they where tired of waiting... in 30 min on my own can get my 5 kids 5 and myself ready and out the door... how much does one person have to say "I don't sleep" "I have not slept through the night in 8 months" in one video...

They would be better off investing their time in something else.

My inlaws make amazing maple syrup every year for at least 20 years maybe longer and like they make a years worth for a bunch of people so a lot of maple syrup. My fil has this amazing set up and process and does an amazing job. I was cringing the whole time watching Phil try and make it...

Honestly I don’t really mind the whole maple syrup saga. I think it’s a fun thing to do with your trees- sure it’s a lot of work, but I’d probably be tempted to try it too.

The part that bugs me is that he’s acting like he’s teaching us to do it. Maybe if they learned how to do things first and THEN gave everyone a step-by-step it would be fine, but teaching WHILE learning on the fly is so annoying.

Alex’s makeup scam thing is nuts to me though. I hope she doesn’t make a dime off her followers buying that overpriced crap.
