But she really isn't sleeping on the floor. She has the comfort of a "bed" still, albeit no bed frame. Ruby would not put herself or Kevin out like that, they still get the mattress.

I am wondering with all this new branded sounding BS like Blitz™ cleaning, if they are going to try to release #MothersArePowerful after all. It seems like she is being coached by someone to appear like a competent mother, and I don't know why anyone would bother unless they had a financial stake in it. The book has been done for over a year now.

Also, I haven't left my house in almost a year, are pioneer dresses all the rage, or is Target punking Utah?

Yet their views are in the toilet, so I hope they keep doing it.

I guess ruby isn't responsible if her children don't like her lame homeschooling that she does. I guess Ruby doesn't take responsibility for anything. It's also funny how ruby talked about children manipulating you with homeschooling as she does that with her children all the time.

Ruby getting paid to give advice is even more laughable! She takes calls and is doing the life coach bit. Love how Ruby keeps pushing the Connextions stuff! Looking at what Ruby says is that program has you not taking responsibility for anything. If the kids are bored with her classes, it's on them.

I think the kids except maybe Eve are going to be behind for their age. Eve is younger but does seem to be advanced above her grade level. For example they took a month off from language arts.

Ruby needs to take responsibility for stuff and not make the children responsible for everything. She needs to do language arts and math with the kids everyday even if they struggle with it. Stuff like this makes me think the kids belong in a public school not Ruby's lame homeschooling. Eve is not smart enough to stop ruby from controlling her

I'm so confused why Ruby thinks she is someone who can be giving advice on this. Are there parents out there who are "hitting the homeschool slump" and saying to themselves, "I need to see what Ruby Franke is doing"? I honestly don't think so. She has ZERO qualifications to be pontificating about this. ZERO.

Can someone who is Mormon help me ??
In Sharis vlog she said that the men are called to do a mission somewhere.

Is it different in some wards because Not Enough Nelson’s daughters have been or going on a mission.

5 to Love friends of theirs daughters are going on missions.

Not Mormon, but I have been listening to a ton of ex-mo content lately. My understanding is that women used to be banned from missions, while men could go at age 19. People got mad because it interrupted the college education, and sexism. Women were eventually allowed to go at 21, which few did, because of the pressure to marry at 18. Now men can go at 18 and women can go at 19. Woman can also only go for 18 months, while men go for 2 years. I assume the age difference is to discourage the women from going while giving the illusion of improving their opportunities. The ex-mo crowd claims that women that go on missions are not treated the same way as men and are given "light work", while the men are left to the real conversion work. They even told a story where the women on their mission were told they were too fat for mission work, and not allowed to ride in vehicles anymore, only bicycles. Could be totally wrong on some of that. I hope someone Mormon can rebut with the facts...

Shari likely said "men" because her family is old-school and think a woman's place is barefoot and pregnant at 18 like all their ancestors. Are the families you listed more progressive Mormons?

What do you know, Kevin takes over the nutrition for the family and suddenly Eve grows for the first time in years "overnight". What are the chances? She'll be 8 this year and was still in toddler sized clothing (5T). Now she is in child's size 7, finally an appropriate size for her age. Kevin's an a$$ but at least his children have access to nutritious foods for once.

It’s actually a funny trend going around. After target came out with those hideous pioneer dresses people started to get them to take pics while doing farm chores. It’s funny how anyone with a minimum fashion sense instantly knew they were ugly whereas Ruby was all like “OMG with leggings”
Take a look at these wearing the exact same dress Ruby did

Today I had to ride the subway and as I was just contemplating life I had this realization about how everyone who watches 8 passengers either does it for clout (like we do) or just hates children. Like, what parent will watch and think making your kindergartener go hungry or make your son sleep on a bean bag is good punishment? This is a horrible shit show, how come there aren’t more people horrified by this? Back in the day I remember Toddlers and Tiaras would make the news every now and then just for having dumb parents and braty toddlers. Speaking of, how crazy is it that honey booboo is around the same age as Chad and Sheri?

I hope Ruby has listened to her own preaching in the Mid-Year Motivation. She preaches that you should be a part of whatever redirection you give your kids, her example being a puzzle. Haha, how many times have we seen the kids playing a game and Ruby is there with the camera--Ruby, that is not engaging with your children. More telling is the response from kids when she asked who has seen the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe--they've all seen it, including Eve, but Ruby has never watched it, AND, she wasn't aware that they've seen it, LOL. That's some engagement there mom!

Ruby is the last person who should be giving this sort of advice, she is such a joke. Does she really think that teachers are all the same? Listening to her dribble, you would think this is so. There are good teachers, and poor teachers. Typically, the good teachers are the ones that go above and beyond and engage their students by making the lessons interesting and learning fun. She and Kevin really think kids come out of the womb with adult minds. Thank God her children have had others to learn from in school, other than their parents. She should look at Shari and know, children learn from what they see and experience. Ruby expressed she had/has no empathy, and Shari has now said the same about herself. Ruby, a lot of things you do not want to take responsibility for with your children, is your responsibility. It will be interesting to see how they are as adults.

They are Mormons but what is progressive Mormons??
For example, I would classify The McKnight Family (Cute Girls Hairstyles/Brooklyn and Bailey) as more progressive than the average Utah Mormon. The still attend church, but they don't wear their garments or make any attempt at modest clothing. They marched in BLM protests, allow their children to befriend non-Mormons, encourage advanced education for their daughters over young marriage and babies. On the other hand, they sent their daughter away to a troubled teen camp like Ruby, so I don't know how far that out-of-the-box thinking extends.

They also live in Texas outside of the Utah bubble, so perhaps they are just trying to fit in. Or more likely are aware that the more mainstream American they appear on SM, the bigger the following. Everyone was shocked when their third daughter went to the VERY strict Mormon college (BYU - Shari's dream school), even her own family. She is violating their strict honor code on the regular though (crop tops and mini skirts, etc.) and not getting reprimanded, so perhaps they worked out some back-door deal. I'll be curious to see if Shari is required to follow their dress code. Not even Shari wears the knee length shorts.

I found it pretty weird that Russell asked eve to be his valentine. That's not something siblings usually do. I also found it funny that shari wanted to wear some of Chad's things that he got for his birthday. I'm surprised ruby would be willing to return things that chad didn't want as I'm that if she did Chad would be punished for being ungrateful for his presents. At least Chad gets a birthday video.

The whole mission nonsense is the part of mormonism I just can't get over or be sensitive about. It boggles my mind how sexist and gross it is. I heard recently that men who have gone on missions are seen as more desirable to potential wives...... that's insane to me. Live the way you want to but stop going to other countries and trying to get people to follow your religion so you can feel all good and holy about yourself for god's sake (I believe this about all religions who do this!)
