Im aware its a boy. But Ever is not just a girls name. Ever works for both genders. Baby names don't need to be assigned a gender they work for.

Not assigning it to anything.I'v only heard it as a girl's name,so thought it was.I knew a guy named Christy and a man named Shirley,which are names fine for both,still,most ppl would presume they're females,based on the names

He's just fed up with all this crap. Imagine how tiring living in someone else's world. At this point I don't think he just stays for the money, but mostly his kid. If he left Jess, none of his biological kids would be with him. That maybe wouldn't have had affected him as much in the past, but I think the older he got, the more important his own kids became to him.
