It's real sad when you know your mother only wants you to hold off announcing news so she can capture it for YouTube and make money and NOT because she gives a damn about you or your life. At what point will kids of YouTube be able to be spontaneous with when and what they do and say.

Also, Shari says, "I don't need scholarships." Ok, it's wonderful that Shari has the funds to cover education. She should notify the school so they can give the scholarship to someone else cause there are many, many students who need it badly and will be appreciative and honored to receive scholarships/grants. She could have kept that thought to herself.

She doesn't need the scholarship because she knows she's going to BYU and will get in half price (or possibly more). If she was going to BU, she would care because it costs around $56K a year for tuition and housing. I doubt she has that much saved.

Not anymore at least, since her mom (allegedly) robbed her

I guess I don't know what the big deal is. Some people can have a short stature or have a bone growth disorder, but why debate whether you think they have one condition or another? It just seems weird to scrutinize a young person's body this way.

Because she talks about her body/health issues incessantly, and regularly asks for viewer feedback on them?

We talk about every vlogger's content; I guess I have just have never understood why this particular vlogger is off-limits.

I don't watch this family regularly. So I do apologize, but who talks about her health? Is it her mother or the girl?

Shari does. Her mother regularly discusses her preference for medical neglect (she doesn't even keep them vaccinated), which I assume is why Shari feels the need to go onto social media to share every detail of her health and to ask viewers for advice and opinions. She also asks her teachers and trainer at the gym for medical advice, and schedules her own appointments with medical specialists. She seems desperate for someone to acknowledge her pain, and I don't blame her. I hope in the midst of all this, a social worker has set her up with a psychologist as well.

Does Shari automatically get her channel at 18, or does she have to go through a legal process to get it out of the financial control of her parents? It is funny that she is not worried about money after having her life savings stolen. That whole story makes zero sense. Maybe Ruby promised to pay for all her college costs if Shari stopped talking about the money being funneled into an account in her name?

Poor Chad is predictably being pressured to go to BYU. He is still resisting the program, which can't be good for his health in that family. Of course Abby smooths things over by happily announcing she wants to go to BYU just like Mommy Dearest expects. Have we heard about a mission? It seems weird that they aren't pushing it.

I'll save you a click and say today's video was her acceptance letter into BYU. She also applied to Boston University, George Washington University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Boston and GW both have acceptance rates below 20% compared to 65% for BYU, so we'll see.

I came here to say the exact same thing!! How dare Ruby say it’s hard to get in to BYU when the acceptance rate is close to 70% meanwhile UPenn is has an 8% acceptance rate.

If I were her I'd be worried as most of her money got stolen and she will probably be forced to live in the street as you are not welcome to live with ruby once you turn 18. Hopefully she has somewhere where she can live as she has no money.

Jeez, it seems like half of the Griffiths fam are hypochondriacs and self-diagnose themselves constantly or race to elective tonsil and other surgeries, and the other half are more in favor of medical neglect. What an absolute frickin' mess this family is. Shari reminds me of Ellie with her constant pursuit of medical treatment, except that Shari seems more likely to actually have problems that need addressing than Ellie. But I'm confused what's going on with this whole spine/neurology thing so I guess we'll see how it ends up. It drives me absolutely crazy the way Shari talks like she knows better than doctors because she has googled things and is into fitness.

Shari may have good grades but this application cycle has become ultra competitive and students with amazing credentials, grades, test scores, and extracurriculars are getting rejected from schools they formerly may have had a shot at. Especially since the number of applications have skyrocketed. Shari just isn’t a stand out applicant.

Also what parent doesn’t know what colleges their daughter has applied to? How hard is it to remember the names of four schools? Ruby really needs to move into the modern age and stop assuming everything is the same as it was when she was a child and young adult.

Tuition for 2 semesters is just under $6k but they will only pay half because her dad is a professor. So she will only be paying $3k a year tuition so of course she's "isn't bothered" about tuition costs!! There's no way she'd have that attitude if paying the tuition at other schools...

He seemed hurt but not surprised that Ruby hadn't been listening at all while he was talking about her with Kevin, while Ruby was right there. Kevin has been an absentee father for decades, so he knows little about the kids, but it is just confusing when Ruby can't remember their ages, their friends, anything they like, or if a kid sucks their thumb, etc. I mentioned this in the Bonnie thread, but there is something seriously wrong with Ruby and her "memory". Either she needs to see a Neurologist with Shari, or she has a raging personality disorder of some kind that prevents her from living in reality with the rest of us.

Also, who was Chad "dating" at 15 that led to a "physical relationship"? Is he actually talking about when he was 14 with Kesley? That would explain Anasazi.....

I wondered about that, too. Kesley is really the only girl they've paired him with on the vlogs and he was practically 15, I think, when it was going on, unless it was some other secret relationship. I just can't see Ruby not having filmed it or mentioned something about him having a 'girlfriend' or a 'crush', though, so almost positive it had to be Kesley. I never really thought about it, but maybe it could be part of what got him sent Anasazi. Things did seem to just kind of abruptly end between them. I don't remember really any explanation for what happened. If something did happen, though, I'd say the blame is on Ruby for forcing the relationship on those kids for content and views. However, we also have to remember how sheltered these kids are and that Abby thought sneaking out was leaving her bed at night. So when Chad says 'physical relationship' he could mean something as light as a hug or holding hands.

Wow, that's so horrible how they shame their kids about something like having physical attraction towards a peer. Chad is 16 years old, that is COMPLETELY normal and he should not feel guilt or shame about it or feel like it's something he shouldn't feel. It's no wonder so many end up in incompatible marriages or are so sexually immature even after having kids!
